First, thanks for responding. I had a culture taken on the 23rd of Dec and it was negative, however on the 5th of Jan i did take a blood test herpeselect type specific and it came out positive at 3.31. I am making an appointment to go back to the doctor soon. I am getting really worried because it won't go away. What are your thoughts?
I have had a cold sore on top of my upper lips for 9 months now & I also visited my dr she saw and said its a fungal infection and gave me prescribed cream for it but it never worked I still have dry ,itchy redness on top of my lips that won't go way-
supposed just before we kissed(it was in the dark)she just bite her own lips for blood to come from her lips as she saw that my lips were badly cracked!so she might just bite her lips..and it was in the dark...she bites on her own lips and me as a fool i kissed her!may be she wanted me to get hiv something and she knew i had broken lips(i always have broken lips)so she just bite her own lips to remove some blood and she kissed me!im really stressed over this thing!
Lips dry due to needing more hydration. Olive oil works for adults. Would that be safe for a baby? Never looked it up...
My problem is very dry patch right above my upper that won't seem to go away. I noticed it last year while I was busy. when I'm doing something at a fast pace like multitasking it gets this gooey and moist and I ,can peel it off. I have dry mouth due o some of the meds I take, but I always had but this just started happening,,When I settle down and I clean it up it still doesn't go away it dries up and it looks like have a big upper lip. It is red in color when it dries..
But he has ate me out... and one time he had what looked like cracked lips... on both corners of his lips. and he ate me out... after i realized they were there it was to late... i freaked out but it was on both sides... and looked like cracked dry lips... anyways that was about 3 weeks ago.. well about 2 weeks ago i thought i had an UTI. Hard to pee. Felt like i had to pee all the time. hurt before i pee'd.

I have been having seriously burning and itchy lips for the past 3 weeks. I went to the pharmacy. The pharmacist said it was cold sores, and recommend me the Zovirax cream. I used it for a few days and the the painful feeling was somewhat suppressed. However, after stopping using the cream, my lips were cracked and dry and tingling. I tried different lip balms, such as Carmex and Burt's Bee, to heal them, but then the burning and itchiness came back!

but it has never been contagious and it will not go away with anything and hasnt spred to anywhere. just stayed where it has been (my upper right arm) i have tried all kinds of creams and ointments and i have tried just putting lotion on it. its red and flakey has bumps and "oozes" clear stuff. it itches like crazy sometimes but i TRY to not scratch. it seems like the skin is cracked in the affected area which makes it sting when i put anything on it.
Cold sores are usually painful blisters on the skin of the lips, mouth, gums, or lip area. They are caused by herpes simplex virus and usually go away in 1-2 weeks. I would suggest going to a doctor for some antiviral pills(acyclovir) since your symptoms are recurring. Remove any stress from your life as well.
Hello, I recently met a girl through friends and we kissed while she laid on top of me. She had a nose ring on. She pushed her face against mine pretty hard as it was a bit of a rough kiss and might have irritated her nose. I had Oral sex with my husband on a Wednesday then vaginal sex. That day I was a little sore but I didn't think anything of it. By the weekend I had what felt like a yeast infection but I also had little dimples around my genital area. I went to the dr on Monday who said it looked like herpes and prescribed 400mg of acyclovir three times a day and sent a swab in for a culture. The results came in 5 days later as positive for hsv 1. The pain was awful even wroth medication.
My son, age 40, has a rash on his "butt cheek" that just won't go away. He has tried many different creams, ointments,, lotion, etc. Nothing helps. Do you think this could be some kind of fungus? Is there anything that might take this away if it is a fungal infection?
