Avatar n tn ) reviewed the CPT-4 codes for each study year (Table 1) to identify those that were believed to reflect the most common types of spinal injection procedures that radiologists perform, including lumbar discography (CPT-4 code 62290), cervical discography (CPT-4 code 62291), disk aspiration and/or injection (CPT-4 code 62287), epidural steroid injection (nonselective epidural injection or selective nerve root injection; CPT-4 code 62289 for lumbar injection or 62298 for cervical or thoracic injec
Avatar m tn I was told to call the hospital and see what the cost of use would be for the out patient surgery. My doctor gave me CPT code of 67108. I got my estamite from the hospital and it's a staggering $15,000 dollars for us just to use the room. I Googled CPT codes and one site was AMA. Both sites said $1500.00 for code 67108. Can anyone tell me what to expect the hospital to charge for this? Not for the surgery, just for the privilege of using the place.
Avatar f tn (Just pointing out the complexity of making sure you have the correct and complete CPT code for whatever procedure you are asking about.) Good luck.
Avatar n tn I work for an ENT and 99213 is a code we use for an office visit. I will check tomorrow when I get into work on this for you. I need to look at the cpt book. Let you know.
405614 tn?1329144114 my second brain MRI had that code, but not the first brain mri or spinal MRI (the CPT code listed the same for brain and spine; may be wrong). I researched the CPT code used for my spinal MRI, and they were standard MRIs without contrast. If the first brain MRI was ordered using the not-ms protocol CPT code, and the second one used the ms protocol CPT code. Wouldn't that mean that they were done differently and weren't adequate for noting changes?
Avatar f tn What is the difference between a CT angiogram and a heart catheritization. Which is better? I had a CTA of the aortic arch and neck. I've been having discomfort for weeks but the CTA was fine. I also have moderate mitral valve regurg which the doctor said does not need repairing. So I am confused as to what test give the best information for blockages,etc....
Avatar f tn He shouldnt be charging you for more than your session time, 60 min is not the lowest increment available. I saw a code for 45 min also. Call your doctors office and ask for billing and enquire about it. Or call your insurance company and ask them about it. Tell either how much time you spent with the actual DR, not time in the waiting room. CPT Code 92214 means: Offic/Outpt E&M Estab Mod-Hi established patient. CPT Code 90838 means: psychotherapy, 60 minutes Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn It is usually referenced in codes, like the Current Procedural Terminology(CPT) code set is a medical code set maintained by the American Medical Association. Your primary care physician may be able to guide you appropriately, please discuss this with him. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn s case the CT angiogram may also be considered risky because of kidney problems. His kidneys may not be able to deal with the dye used for CT angiogram. I am not a doctor so here I am just giving advice based on my on experience.
2059648 tn?1439766665 Either ask your doctor to ask your insurance company what is the allowable charge for the particular CPT code of the test that you want, or call your insurance company and ask them directly. Concurrently, you could ask what percentage of allowable the insurance company will pay, or equivalently, what will be your patient responsibility. Don't forget to take into account any annual deductible that you haven't met yet!
Avatar f tn has ordered is a CT angiogram to check arteries, etc. I am very worried about the exposure of radiation that this test gives off. I also had a CTA of the Aortic Arch and Head back in 2009 when my doctor was worried about a carotid bruit that he kept hearing in my right neck. That test proved ok and it was determined that the bruit was coming from my mitral valve regurgitation that was radiating sound up to the carotids.
212161 tn?1599427282 re talking about the same thing...a regular CT scan of the chest does NOT look at your coronary arteries for plaque - the only CT scan that does is the aforementioned CT angiogram.
Avatar m tn unprotected sex on 5/26, on 6/7 I did the routine std testing and was negative for chlamydia and gonorrhea. on 6/22 I did blood draw at std clinic I believe 4th gen testing got results back 3 days later negative for HIV and syphilis. Something just does not feel right it is like my left upper thigh/groin intermittent discomfort more than pain and sometimes a bit of itchiness on the urethra after peeing.
Avatar f tn I started having heart palpitations/rapid rate about 5 months ago. My regular Dr had me wear a Holter monitor on May 10-11 and then referred me to a heart specialist. I have very low cholesterol/triglicerides, am a dailly walker and work out with weights 2-3 times a week. I am 5'4" and weigh 120. I had an echo cardiogram and it was good, but I took an echo stress test and they took me off the treadmill after 3 minutes because my heart rate was at 200.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had a ct angiogram Dec 21 and my calcium score is 694. My cholesterol is 242. My doctor put me on crestor 10 mg per day. I just got the hard copy report today and my dr. is away for the holidays.... what does that score mean? I have chest pain frequently but they thought it was all in my head....
Avatar m tn I have no family history of this condition.. I am worried going for a MRA today just to calm my nerves without contrast can anyone help ?
Avatar m tn I do exercise most days, although doing cardio exercises has become difficult for the past couple of years as I run out of breath soon. It seems difficult to believe that I may have a blockage in the artery. Any recommendations or thoughts would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn I am looking for a second opinion. Hectorsf, can dr Norah of UCSF run a CT scan for me? How can I consult her for second opinion by myself?
Avatar n tn You could ask for a ct angiogram if you are worried, which is basically a non invasive scan. However, to answer your questions, the angiogram is very safe as far as invasive procedures go. The biggest risks are stroke and heart attack, but for this to happen the cardiologist would basically have to disturb a chunk of blockage material in the arteries with his catheter wire. It isn't really about odds, are you the likely or unlikely odd?
1025701 tn?1257172434 So, I am trying to find out from my insurance company (Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield federal) all the details I can. The girl who answered wanted to know what the CPT code for Tysabri is. If anyone out there knows what that is I would greatly appreciate it. I was hoping to find out as much as possible since I know that some places can charge you more per infusion. I think my cost will be 15% so it makes a big difference to me what the overall cost will be. Thanks so much for reading this.
Avatar m tn The cath angiogram exams the lumen for hard plaque and any blockage, but the ct angiogram also exams for soft plaque within the body of the vessel. Soft plaque presents a higher risk for a heart attack as it may rupture the inner lining and form a clot.
Avatar n tn I'm having a CT angiogram Thursday. It avoids an interventional procedure that has some risk. X-ray exposture presents some risk for cancer, but my non-interventional cardiologist feels a CT angiogram is sufficient and I'm not disputing his recommendation. I had a cath angiogram and a stent 4 years ago, there was no problem as I was in a hospital setting for 3-4 days. However, some people experience a bleeding problem at the site of the cath insertion and pain that lasts several days.
Avatar n tn A CT angiogram is more sensitive than a straight forward angiogram. They both rely on a radioactive substance being injected into your blood stream and it's this which the scanners pick up. If a CT angiogram doesn't reveal a vessel, then no way will an angiogram. I had a vein that was closed after a bypass procedure and they looked for 30 minutes in a standard angiogram procedure to try and find it.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone, I was just informed that my Father has a score of 1600 on his heart CT scan. What does this mean? What does his future hold as far as surgeries, or whatever?
