Avatar f tn I have had a very strange allergic reaction for the past year and it seems to be getting progressively worse. Almost every time I eat in a restaurant or the kitchen of some people, my nose itches like crazy and gets very stuffy. Sometimes, but not always, my eyes get watery as well. It never happens in my kitchen, and I noticed when I was in San Fransisco a few months ago it didn't seem to happen in restaurants there, or at least wasn't as intense.

Even then, certain low toxicity pesticides have been allowed since the federal gov't instituted national labeling rules. I only buy organically grown food to eat at home, though I'm not so rigid as to skip eating at restaurants. All non-organic farming is loaded with nasties, from the seed on down.

I now see an endocrinologist. I found out I have type 2 diabetes. I didn't feel a great connection with my first endocrinologist and I found another one in the area that is very friendly and thorough. She ordered lots of blood work and a thyroid sonogram.

Because you are in a different environment then you're used to you body might use that to get comfortable. Or it might be something in the food, like you said. Some food places may add extra things that ppl wouldnt normally at their home, that could make you sneeze.

Avatar f tn I'm not an expert, but in my opinion, I quickly see 2 options: (1) Try bringing more of a healthy lunch to work. Make sure its filling, so you dont feel the urge to eat more as you work around food. It is the convenience as to why you eat wendy's, and probably fast food in general. In summary, try to provide yourself with convenience of a healthier alternative. As long as its healthier than what you've been eating at your work, it's an improvement.
