I am scheduled this Friday (the 19th of Feb) for a cystoscope/with dmso...which is how I was diagnosed with IC to beging after this procedure back 06 I had some pain for the first couple of days....but, it helped a great deal...but, I am uncertain as rather the Vesicare and/or the Elmiron is causing my blood pressure to raise....or if it is the combination of the two medications....
I have tried Detrol and Detrol LA and, neither of those help me....
he has done urodynamics and also looked into my bladder through scope and said that nothing is wrong with my bladder and urthera,he first gave me vesicare for a month than enablex but condition still remains the same ,then i went to another general phyisican he sent me for x-ray of my lower back,results came out negative.my urlogist told me to go to neurolgist...
I have had several episodes of not being able to make it to the bathroom and have also wet the bed several times. My doctor gave me Enablex and the episodes stopped. I stopped taking Enablex and the bedwetting and not making it to the bathroom happened again. The doctor started me on Vesicore and again the episodes stopped. Have you ever heard of this happening after TUMT? I had the TUMT so that I could stop taking Flomax.
Definitely get your bladder checked for a urinary track infection. I doubt that's the case. What you are describing is exactly how I felt. Peeing once if not more an hour. Pee, stand up, feel like I have more. Incredible urgency to pee. You give in to go and your lucky to pee half a teaspoon, but it felt like you are holding back niagra falls. I have an overactive bladder. You need to cut down all your coffee, pop, tea, alcohol, and spicy food. Drink plenty of water. I know I know.
In summary, results of tests were a slightly enlarged prostate and in his opinion, an overactive bladder to be treated with Enablex. He did not seem concerned with my prostate.
Here's my problem. I am still having general urethra discomfort and persistent need to urinate but often without the ability to urinate. This has been going on ever since my initial UTI symptoms in mid-November and it's driving me crazy.
I did suspect HSV but you put that to rest.
I went to my GP and got some stuff to help with the constipation after following advice on this forum but was so bad and with little improvement I decided to ditch the Vesicare for a while, bad move, my problems have come back and I am still constipated!!! Not sure now what to do..
B.T.W. I was on 10mg of Vesicare, and asked a similar question on this forum yesterday about Vesicare.

About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with an overactive bladder after doing all the tests. I was put on Vesicare 5 mg daily and also was taking fluoxetine for depression and anxiety over this condition. After taking the meds for awhile my symptoms went away and I was symptom free for 3 years. Because of the expense of the vesicare and because I was doing so well. I decided to stop taking both medications. My bladder was fine and normal and then about a year later the symtoms came back.
I kept with the Vesicare and when we came back I was pretty depressed to be home and had maybe 2-3 days within 2 weeks I had "issuses" of frequency lasting a few hours but then they went away. As of last Mon 11/1, after 3 weeks on the Vesicare and after being home for 2 weeks Iam 100% back to normal and I can't tell if it's from the Vesicare or because the anxiety from the trip has finally faded out of my body as well as the depression from having to come back home.
On celexa, tried oxybutinin and myrbetriq. Gave me anxiety. Is enablex a good choice? Side effect of celexa was frequent urination. Eneblex only one that didn't cause anxiety, but side effects are bad. Anybody?
I'm not sure how to describe what I'm feeling or even if it's real or imagined from nervousness. My left side only...leg from about knee down, not feet and my left lower arm/hand feels "weird"...mostly at night when I get in bed and lay to watch t.v. I think my left hand feels weird when I'm typing, not fingers. I have no "pain" , numbness, tingling...just a weird, mild feeling. Sometimes a small shakiness.
I'm using Vesicare and Lyrica and I just got my urinalysis result and they're normal. Can Vesicare and Lyrica affect urinalysis? Are they antibiotics?
Can I take effexor with Flomax and vesicare as I had anxiety disorder and use to take effexor before but stopped it about 1 year back. Now I am having a lot more anxiety due to my present condition. After stopping the Vesicar I am feeling the urge to urine all the time and i have to use to wash room every hour. Should I start 5mmg Vesicare again?

After 4 weeks of Vesicare I still have no change in my nocturia. I had an ultrasound of my bladder, testicles, kidneys all normal. I then had a cystoscopy done which showed no abnormalities besides a tight sphincter. My urologist told me to continue the Vesicare which I have been doing.

So here I am on day 3 of Vesicare. Anyone have experience with this? I feel like since on it my frequency is actually up a bit. I was told to give it atleast one week but two is better to see improvement so I want to stick it out but I keep thinking can Vesicare make your frequency worse before better? I am not sure what's going and since it's the weekend kind of hard to call and ask!
i had a cmg test done today and the nusre told me it was the worst case of bladder spasm that she has ever seen and brought in other medical staff to see this they have put me on vesicare tablets 10 mg and i am wondering if there is anything else can be done i am worried in case it means i need to be catherterised because of this how likely is this ?
said I had a stenosis and atrophy of the urethra. Gave me a script for Vesicare but told me to wait a few days to see how procedure goes. also mentioned estrogen Creme. I am miserable....what should I do?
Still was having no success, so I have now added a new product to the list called Dulcolax (active ingredient Bisacodyl) as all that did was give me massive stomach craps. I tried it for a week but was in pain with the craps, I did go but still with great difficulty!
I am not sure what to do, I don't really want to go off the Vesicare as it has been a godsend for me, I would say almost life changing, it has made such a huge difference to my outings etc.
