I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.

My asthma medicin is combivent inhaler. I also take a diaretic and blood pressure meds. my doc took me off linsinopril and put me on benicar, and prednisone to stop itching. it hasnt worked at all. It has been very poor air quality in california due to all of our fire, and she says I could be allergic to some of the particulates in the smoke. I have been putting Sarna Lotion on the itchy spots, belly legs back and arms, which alleviates some of the irritation but not for very long.

Yes, it feels like I don't need the combivent regimen since I started the flovent. I use the combivent mainly before exercise with 02. . Unfortunately my insurance is minimal and I only get to see my pullmanary doctor who proscribes these meds, once every six months. Dear All, My son is three years old, sometimes he has a constant cough and I use for him 1ml combivent and 1ml pulmicort in the nublizer, these days combivent is out of stock, can i use pulmicort alone and what is the recommended dosage. Please advise.

However, Salbutamol, also known as Albuterol which is a Class of drugs known as Anticholinergics is known to cause tachycardia and can also cause an increase in blood pressure. Some are able to tolerate this medication with no unwanted side effects...while others suffer from common side effects. I was using Combivent a combination of Albuterol/Atrovent which exacerbated my Afib. My Dr said that the Albuterol was responsible for the exacerbation and suggested that I try using Atrovent instead.

Does anyone know if an inhaler ( I use combivent) can aggravte PACS and PVCS? I had breakfast this morning and then used my inhalers and my heart started doing some weird pvcs and pacs anyone else ever have this happen?

my chest gets heavy off and on throughout the day I take Combivent Respimat 20-100 MCG/ACT IN AERS, Levalbuterol HCL 1.25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later.

s sometimes a productive cough. I was told I have asthma and I get sinus infections. I use an inhaler (Combivent) but that doesn't stop the coughing. It will get so bad that I will start to gag. One interesting thing is that when I lay down, I have no inclination to cough. Could it be my tonsils? Should I see an ENT?

I use this new combivent inhaler 4 x a day so how long does one inhaler last and how often does it get refilled.

recently diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. hospitalized three times: finally determined that i'm allergic to sulfate based albuterol, combivent, all of the usual "suspects." i'm now on advair (one week= 115 ) and doing okay - except the only rescue inhaler i can tolerate is primotene mist. just took an oximeter test - came out 86-87. i think it's too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too.

You might try asking your doctor to prescribe Combivent/Duoneb. This is an already prepared mixture of Albuterol and Ipratropium. It is available as an inhaler, as well as a nebulizer solution. Although you can ask your doctor to be sure, Pulmicort should probably be taken separately.

t been able to sleep hardly at all. This has never happened before. I take combivent and flovent 2 times a day and have been doing this for a long time. I don't understand why I can't sleep when nothing has changed for me. I have tried pm meds and also ambien with no luck sleeping. What is going on for this to happen to me?

I too have pretty much tried the same cycle of meds and have the same symtoms. The amox. for me did little. The Mucinex works pretty good at least it loosens up the phlem in chest. Claritin does nothing for me. I have tried these combos over and over and over. The humidifier made me worse and so did the steam breathing-big time. I have been to a pulmonogist (I am 43) and he suggested that humidifier/steam thing and whooo it made me worse.

My asthma inhaler Combivent was causing the hives. I have no problem with albuterol; it was the ipratropium bromide in Combivent causing the hives. I now stay away from any inhaler (like Spiriva) containing similar bromide components. Also check meds you take for sulphur. I can tell a new med contains sulphur when my hands itch like crazy from hives. I am also IGA deficient (immunoglobulin A deficient). Which explains why I seem to catch every cold and flu going around.

My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. Its a mild case of COPD and was prescribed Combivent as needed, I recently started having a burning in my left side lung, my pulmonologist felt it was acid reflux, I had no other acid reflux symptoms besides the burning throughout the day.
