Avatar n tn The coffee goes from the colon straight to the liver via the hepatic portal vein and the caffeine causes the gall bladder and liver to dump bile. Then the liver is free to clean up the blood and the detox reaction lifts. This type of prolonged diet can help eliminate steatosis (very low-fat) and really deep cleanse the tissues. I hope that helps.
Avatar f tn This is going to be late for you, but you should never take liver cleansers while taking medication. What you're describing is a combination colon/liver cleanse. Milk thistle and yellowdock, for example, are liver cleansers, and could theoretically wash some of the medication out of our system, as the body sees virtually all medication as toxic.
Avatar m tn just a question, I was at GNC today and saw a product for colon or gastro cleansing. Has anyone used these, does it work and is it healty?
Avatar f tn A cleansing diet would be rearranging your entire diet, for a short time or forever, to emphasize cleansing toxins out of your colon, liver, and other organs. The reason you read about fasting a lot is that it's the best cleansing diet there is -- you take in no toxins while your body has the opportunity to clean itself out in the meantime. How long to fast is controversial, but when first starting out it's usually recommended to do one day, then move on later to two, etc.
Avatar m tn If so, it probably means she has developed decompensated liver disease.
Avatar m tn Hello~ Jaundice is not a disease condition or a syndrome but a symptom which can be caused due to host of disorders of the liver. Jaundice occurs when the biliary tract is obstructed and prevents the cleansing of the blood, which in turn results in icterus or yellowish pigmentation of the skin, sclera, nails, etc. Yes, jaundice can occur several times in your life span depending upon your dietary patterns, your habits, etc.
403399 tn?1201833095 AFTER you've gotten through the withdrawals, drive to GNC and purchase the Cleansing Formula.. it has NO laxative in it, completely safe, doesn't cause diarrhea, and it cleanses the liver, kidneys, and safely the colon as well.. I've been taking it for over a year now.. you use it for daily maintenance.. I've never felt better in my entire life! I started taking it over a year ago because my liver and kidneys were hurting and acting up because of the long term Tramadol usage..
Avatar m tn I had a similar condition and did 3 months of colon cleansing and my skin is 90% healed. The skin on out the outside indicate what is going on internally. During the cleanse I lost 25lbs because when you're detoxing you are not hungry. Once I understood I had a toxic colon and got into the cleansing with herbs and colonics I felt better and better each month, my energy came back. I am getting to do the liver cleanse which you do after the colon is healthy.
Avatar n tn Cleansing the liver should help, which is why you're probably seeing the references to hep. How do you know your levels are high and that your body isn't doing its job of dealing with this inevitable byproduct of protein consumption with urea? Have you had a test done? Just once?
29837 tn?1414534648 Oh ouch, I have to disagree here with flaxseed and distilled water. Just so you know, I was distilling my water, eating flax and a whole host of other healthy things as a young "believer" in the health food movement. Here are the issues. the science of flax seed is it acts as a colen cleanser, the seeds are benefiial as roughage however diahhrea is a known side effect and this causes loss of essential minerals. Flax has some great fatty acids init, but it lowers cholesterol...
Avatar m tn Significant Inflammation, fibrosis and cirrhosis are generally revealed through blood tests and scans etc. Diagnosing the underlying cause of liver disease can sometimes be difficult and, in fact when they cannot identify the liver disease they call it cryptogenic liver disease. But, the fact that the liver is diseased is usually not that hard to determine. I hope you start feeling better soon.
Avatar f tn I would make an appointment with a good naturopath and they will lead you in the right direction. Colon cleansing is great, but it needs to be done correctly and most MD's just don't understand the procedure, etc.
425312 tn?1279966179 my sister got a system cleanse to clean the colon and detoxify the liver will that be too much on me?
Avatar f tn ask ur doctor then..many of these liver cleansing formulas are very harsh on the liver and digestive organs........a reputable licensed homeopathic nutritionist would also know but please don't try this without medical advice first!
Avatar f tn You can also try to aid the liver without cleansing it with herbs and supplements that act as antioxidants specific to the liver, such as alpha lipoic acid and wheat grass (an absorbable source of glutathione). A liver cleanse is more likely to wash out medication. If you take a probiotic for replenishing the system it has to be taken for awhile, and should be a good multi-spectrum one from the refrigerated section of the best health food store in your area.
Avatar m tn Start with para, then colon, then liver, etc. My recent is with intestinal and I use vinegar - cheap - after I've spent over $25K on therapists, herbals, etc. But it takes time and trying different things. I was doing well and started having healthy movements by doing the cereal stuff, but not all of the internal infections were gone. I've been doing the vinegar colonics daily for the past few weeks - still having mucousy releases but otherwise things are better.
Avatar n tn No scientific evidence supports the alleged benefits of colon cleansing. The bowel itself is not dirty and barring drugs or disease, cleans itself naturally without need for assistance. Some types of colon cleansing present potential hazards also. I would suggest a gastroenterologist’s consultation and getting evaluated for different possibilities.Various other causes that need to be ruled out are over-use of stimulant laxatives (e.g.
Avatar n tn iodine like seafood shellfish etc..
1177761 tn?1263894979 Can statins cause/effect fatty liver disease or is fatty liver disease only related to diabetes and obesity problems? I've been diagnosed with fatty liver disease, am diabetic and am obese. I am on a weight reducing diet, am taking statin medications, and cholesterol meds. Can anyone shed light onto other means of improving the fatty liver, decreasing its damage and stopping its effects other thanwhat I am already doing? Advice is very much appreciated.
Avatar f tn After much investigation, I found that the odor comes from his liver not functioning properly and not cleansing the toxins from his body; instead they come thru his pores. It is a disgusting odor and has inundated our home (furniture, clothing, etc.). Does anyone have a solution to get rid of the odor. He is seeing a doctor and has not had a drink in two months.
Avatar f tn Simplest cleanse is fasting, but cleansing what? There are liver cleanses, colon cleanses, kidney cleanses -- they can be very good for health, but not very useful for losing weight in a healthy fashion because the weight will just come back as soon as you return to your normal way of eating.
Avatar m tn It is more common in smokers, in people with poor dental hygiene, with vitamin deficiencies and is known to be associated with systemic disorders like liver disease. You will need to consult your dentist who will examine you and determine the cause so that appropriate therapy can be initiated. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Make an appointment with a gastroenterologist. It is costly if you don't have an insurance, regardless of age, if you are in doubt, consult with the Gas.. to have a colon scan. It takes a day of cleansing and a day of check up. Don't wait till too late. Colonsnocopy is suggested to the over 50 but no longer truth. You may develop a polyp in your 20s 30s 40s as well. Check if in doubt. When you see blool in your stool, act quickly. Polyp if not taken care, will turn bad.
