Avatar m tn The sinus flush part was for the left side infection. Yes, continue with antibiotics for the dental infection, as those follow the usual medical model for infections.
Avatar f tn Seeing an oral surgeon to eliminate the source of infection is advised. Although clindamycin is narrow spectrum antibiotics, it is highly effctive for bone infection.
Avatar m tn Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
Avatar f tn I have been fighting a bone infection in my jaw for 6 months - it wasn't identified until this past month but I'd been very sick this whole time. This past month I finally found a good oral surgeon who removed the 2 teeth causing the problem, and cleaned out the bone underneath.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed a ten day course of clindamycin for a gum infection, which it took care of. Six weeks later I developed severe diarrhea with terrible gut pain and fever. Had blood and mucous in stools an perhaps some intestinal lining. I lost 10 lbs and was very weak and the thought of food made me feel sick.. Emergency room diagnosed clostridium difficile after stool samples and CAT scan. I was put on a 14 day, 4x/day course of oral solution vancomycin which solved the problem.
Avatar n tn It is about the size of ping pong ball and I have been on clindamycin for 2 weeks without good results. Doctor has me on Azithromycin for 3 days now. The swelling and pain is still with me and I'm going crazy! What should I do? Thank you for your help!
Avatar m tn About 5 weeks ago I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and the oral surgeon prescribed me Clindamycin to prevent infection. A day or two after I finished my prescription I noticed that I wiped up a little blood on the toilet paper after going to the bathroom. I looked it up on the internet, and it said blood from the rectum could possibly be due to antibiotics, so I thought no big deal. I was also taking Ibuprofin and Vicodin for pain during the antibiotics.
Avatar n tn t get rid of the infection, so maybe a broad spectrum antibiotic will work for me. I sure hope so. thank you again for your advice.
Avatar f tn My question is I seem to have an absessed tooth I was perscribed clindamycin for it but was told to take 12 pills daily each being 150 mg does this seem normal? I am calling my doctor tomorrow to see what she thinks, just kinda wondered if anyone else has had this issue.
Avatar f tn My dentist uncovered the implant and did a bone graft over the top of the implant where the infection had eaten the bone away. He soaked it in clindamycin and I took clindamycin orally afterwards. Six weeks after that, I started feeling bad again. My dentist put me on another round of clindamycin coupled with metronidazole. A 3D CONE x-ray showed that there was infection behind the top of the implant. This time, I had an oral surgeon uncover the implant and clean it out.
Avatar f tn What type of anitbiotic is good for a bacterial vaginal infection? I have had greenish discharge and recurrent yeast infections for about 9 mos.
Avatar f tn However, if you do need antibiotics after extraction, amoxicillin and metronidazole, erythromycin( erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin) and metronidazole are commonly prescribed for periodontal infection. You may address your condern to your dentist.
Avatar m tn Second, about a week before the incident I had a root canal and because of a gum or tissue infection in the area of the tooth I had been on Clindamycin for about five days, would that lower my chances of getting oral ghonorrea or would the prior infection raise them? Finally, there were no visible sores in her vaginal area so I know this lowers the Herpes risk, but does my being diabetic raise it and if I had gotten HSV 1 or genital type on my mouth how long until sores would appear.
Avatar n tn Hi I went in to the dentist a couple days ago to get a broken molar extracted. (I had a root canal done on it years ago and it has now got infected) It was extremely painful and tender to the touch but I had no visible swelling. Dentist sent me home with Vicodin & clindamycin to kill the infection before she could extract it in a few days. I know clindamycin is a top tier antibiotic. But I took it and the infection swelled and got more painful.
Avatar f tn I have some clindamycin but not sure if that is an appropriate medication for a cat. he weighs 11 lbs.
Avatar n tn i am being treated for possible infection of Chlamydia and gonorrhea. I understand its common to treat for both when one is suspected. My problem is that i don't handle antibiotics well. azithromycin is not an option for me. doxycycline is not great either. So the dr. has given me 10 days of clindamycin to be taken 3 times a day at a dose of 450 mgs. this is fine, i can take clindamycin with no ill effects.
Avatar f tn After amoxicillin and endo retreating tooth, it felt better and fever gone, but 2 days after ending antibiotics, infection returned with intensity, spread along jawline into nearby tooth, causing that tooth to then also need a root canal. I was put back on the same dose of amoxicillin, then tried clindamycin for a few days, but infection continued to spread - a large red hot lump (tablespoon sized) formed on my jawline, just under the 2 affected teeth.
Avatar f tn My poor husband had his impacted wisdom teeth removed. He has developed a bone infection and now the doctor's office who treated him is backpeddling and saying that he has the "flu." They were the ones' who told him he had the infection to begin with. He is in ALOT of pain, nausea, very tired and overal in pain everywhere. He is on antibiotics - Amoxocillin, but i am concerned it is not enough.
Avatar n tn I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed on October 9th. Swelling and healing seemed to have been subsiding throghout last week until Sunday the 18th, when I felt that swelling and pain became worse. I went to the oral surgeon who did the procedure and he said he didn't see much. I was put on clindamycin by him second time around: first immediately after the surgery and second starting 4 days ago.
Avatar f tn m not sure if the spots on the back of my throat are attributed to mild acid reflux, stress, antibiotics (I was taking Clindamycin vaginally for BV during the week i slept with the guy), or oral gonorrhea, or ARS.
Avatar m tn I had oral sex as well as unprotected sex with a girl I was seeing. We slept together for a few days and I definitely received enough oral to get an infection. What's your experience with it shaky? My doctor won't give me any antibiotics, I've run into a wall with getting treatment for this. They're sending me to a pain clinic, but it seems like it's an std or whatever, with my penis being discoloured.

Avatar n tn 05%(base), i also just started using Fougera Clindamycin Phosphate gel USP, 1%(equivalent to 1% clindamycin. i have been using the first one for past three month twice a day and it is almost having no affect. the area is increasing and i m afraid it will get bigger and it is. what should i do? any recommendations on what i should use to get rid of it? can you recommend any medicine/cream?? i would really appreciate the help.
Avatar n tn Due to my ongoing infections, my antibiotics were made stronger (from cephalexin to clindamycin). However, for the last couple of days, I no longer have tonsillitis, instead a swollen, white tongue that feels as if it has scratches all over it. When I try to eat or drink anything it burns. I have been on a liquid diet since the 12th, but even that is hard to stay on. Along with my tongue, my gums have been very sensitive as well. Please help! Any insight or advice is greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn I'm allergic to penicillin and sulfa. Dentist prescribed Clindamycin 150 mg for 10 days for infection in my tooth. Got hives, rash, swollen lips and extreme itching and blotches from head to toe. Was on vacation so stopped medication after 3 days of taking it. It is now 5 days taking benadryl and the hives and itching have not stopped. What is in the clindamycin that I may be allergic to?
