I have just competed a course of clarithromycin, and continue to have nausea, salivation, and a gnawing feeling in my stomach. These symptoms are very similar to those I had while pregnant, ie morning sickness, but all day.
I finished the drug 3 days ago.
Will these symptoms ever stop?
Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.

The next week my doctor switched me to clarithromycin for my throat. 27 days after the encounter while still taking clarithromycin for my throat infection, I began to have symptoms for chlamydia/gonorrhea. Hi I started triple therapy for h pylori last Tuesday evening. Amxocilian and clarithromycin are my two antibiotics, two x's daily for 10 days. I was scheduled to start my period yesterday (Sunday)5 days after taking the antibiotic pills and have not be late for over two years of taking the pill. I am taking Ortho tri cyclen. I have no signs of any symptoms on my penis. Yesterday 3/20/09 I was prescribed clarithromycin er 500 for 7 days for a sinus infection. After reading a lot on the internet it appears that EVERY STD can be obtained through oral sex which I was not aware. If I were your patient, what advice would you recommend? Will the anti biotic prescribed for my sinuses deal with any bacterial std I may have caught or could it suppress the symptoms?
As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.
3 days after the event I had a sinus infection and was prescribed 500mg er Clarithromycin for 7 days. While on that antibiotic I was bit by a a fire ant and the bite became infected so 100mg twice a day for 7 days. I was on antibiotic treatment for 17days straight.(doesn't it usually take longer than that for a lesion to occur for transmission?
But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

I developed asthma suddenly at age 62 while taking "prev pac", (amoxicillin, clarithromycin, prevacid). No previous history of lung problems. Is it possible that the drugs triggered an autoimmune response? This has persisted for 3 years, some relief at first from prednisone but it no longer works.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?
prescribed the triple therapy which consists of Lanzoprazole 30 mg, Amoxicillin 500 mg and clarithromycin 500 mg. The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of amoxicillin (500mg) every 12 hours but it was supposed to be two pills (1g) according to FDA and other resources. I saw that the girl bleeding during sex could be a sign on this site, and if it stings while urinating is another sign. About a month ago I was prescribed a course of Clarithromycin for a skin infection. Since taking the drug I've suffered huge surges of adrenaline, which kicks in like a lighting shot at the point of sleep. It kept me away many nights and I was beside myself with worry. It's now more than three weeks since I stopped the medication (I only completed 2.5 days out of 7) and I find that the adrenaline surges have subsided somewhat.

Hello dear experts, help me please. I have H pylori. Doctor prescribed: clarithromycin 500 mg (1 tablet twice a day), omeprazole 20 mg (1 tablet twice a day) and amoxicillin 500 mg (2 tablets twice a day). After just talking first and second doses I have bitter taste in my mouth. In addition, I feel weak and little scared. I am thinking, may be it is side effect or the medicine just has a bitter taste.
