so the questions is can you take antibiotics while in treatment? i have no allergies to antibiotics. i go for my 2 week labs this friday and i have an appointment with my NP next friday.....sidenote: i feel like i have an infection.

The next week my doctor switched me to clarithromycin for my throat. 27 days after the encounter while still taking clarithromycin for my throat infection, I began to have symptoms for chlamydia/gonorrhea. typically it is just fine for you to continue breastfeeding while pregnant, you may need to take extra vitamins and up you calorie intake even more than a typical pregnant women, so you can provide for both. since you do have history of MC I would definitely talk with your Dr as he or she may want to keep a close eye on your iron levels and any other levels that maybe effected by breastfeeding!

To answer your question, YES it is perfectly safe to go on birth control pills while breastfeeding, HOWEVER, you can not take pills that contain estrogen. There are pills call "mini-pills" or "pops" (progesterone only pills) such as camilla and micronor that are considered safe during breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about it. Some docs will give you a script straight out of the hospital, others will make you wait until you have your 6 week post partum check up.

As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole.
