My LLMD started me 10 weeks ago on abx regimen (Doxy 400mg, Cipro 1000mg, Rifampin 600mg per 24h plus Tindamax 1000mg 10 days in a month) and my physical and psyhological symptoms went away almost completely...I know I have to be on the regimen at least for 12 month but I feel almost healthy again!!:)
Unfortunately in week 6 of treetment my urological symptoms came back with big severity.

In any case, I received oral sex lasting only a couple minutes then shortly after completed with handjob. I cannot take Rifampin because it contains Omnicef which I am allergic to, so I should be ok right?
Soo I am gonna post a pic of my meds again like yesterday but in place of Rifampin, she is putting me on Septra(like Bactrim..its a sulfa) anyway please let me know if anyone has had experiences with this drug. And if u think this will be a good combo. I trust my LLD. And will do anything to get better. I am prepared for even bigger herx once I add the septra.. I am on everything except the Cefidinir(Omnicef) bc she is adding that after we add the Septra and sees if it is well tolerated.
I am supposed to start taking rifampin once a day and bacterium 2x a day. I'm just wondering how to space it out. The bactrim I will take every 12 hours but wanted to know if I can take the rifampin at any time? Together with bacterium?

As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.

But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

Yes, they have me on Rifampin along with my Lyme meds now for awhile, and I have been told to stay on it, yet I am still afraid for when the next one will hit, its like having babies all over again! And with this herxing from the Lyme meds to top it all off, I just cant seem to get ahead here....I have cut down my protein consumption, I've read that it helps keep the cysts from growing too fast.
Thanks mojogal. What antibiotics did you use to treat lyme? I heard doxycycline can make it worse. My LLMD suspects bartonella since I have the swollen glands, rashes, shin pain, etc.
Please be very careful if your pet is ever put on rifampin. It is a very powerful antibiotic and made my kitten worse than what he was before he went on the antibiotic. He was so lovable and precious to me. I wish I never would have put him on this antibiotic for cat scratch disease. I loved him very much and will miss him. I have two older cats to help me get through, but this is just like losing one of your children. I have to go, starting to cry again.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?
prescribed the triple therapy which consists of Lanzoprazole 30 mg, Amoxicillin 500 mg and clarithromycin 500 mg. The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of amoxicillin (500mg) every 12 hours but it was supposed to be two pills (1g) according to FDA and other resources. Most commonly prescribed antibiotics will not interfere with the efficacy of hormonal birth control pills. One exception is rifampin, a drug used to treat tuberculosis.
We have good evidence that rifampin messes with the pill and may also affect the patch and the ring. If you are taking rifampin, talk to your provider about your birth control options. About a month ago I was prescribed a course of Clarithromycin for a skin infection. Since taking the drug I've suffered huge surges of adrenaline, which kicks in like a lighting shot at the point of sleep. It kept me away many nights and I was beside myself with worry. It's now more than three weeks since I stopped the medication (I only completed 2.5 days out of 7) and I find that the adrenaline surges have subsided somewhat.
