So, had brief encounter with sex worker. I am a male and she a female, just for clarity and accuracy of response though I'm confident that this is irrelevant. In any case, I received oral sex lasting only a couple minutes then shortly after completed with handjob. Anyway, that night I had extreme regrets as this not something I regularly do, only once before. So in my anxious state, I thought it best to be proactive and see if I could prevent any full infection from developing.
If you have oral gonorrhea, you wouldn't have lower back pain, but that aside, I'd sure test.
The risks from oral sex are lower than with vaginal or anal sex, but I'd want to make sure he was actually cured, and that I didn't get anything. Also, if you are continuing to have sex with him, I'd ask him to test.
Make sure that they do an oral swab gonorrhea test for you, and not just a genital test. That's really important.

The urologist immediately suspected chlamydia due to particles of puss on the glans and prescribed me with Clarithromycin for 14 days while getting a urine sample (which came back positive for chlamydia a few days later). Parts of your experience however did, apparently involve some trauma. As such this may be a partial explanation for your rectal symptoms. As for your cloudy urine, if I understand your exposures correctly, you are not at risk for genito-urinary STDs and need not worry. If these symptoms persist you may wish to discuss them with your doctor, looking for other causes.
The next week my doctor switched me to clarithromycin for my throat. 27 days after the encounter while still taking clarithromycin for my throat infection, I began to have symptoms for chlamydia/gonorrhea. I have not had any discharge or pain/burning while urinating but I have had pain/tickle in my urethra after urination along with pain while driving?? I went to my doctor and he swabbed me for a test for which he has not received the results from yet.

Whatever is going on has nothing to do with the sexual encounter with another man 2 years ago. Gonorrhea never lasts 2 years, and rarely causes urethral infection without symptoms -- i.e., if you had gonorrhea back then, you would have known it.
Your symptoms are possibly consistent with an STD like urethritis (NGU or chlamydia), but they are more suggestive of a possible prostate gland problem -- especially if the "discharge" indeed was urine.
Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.
Antibiotics, including clarithromycin, have no effect on viruses and therefore cannot prevent herpes, HPV, or HIV.
3 days after the event I had a sinus infection and was prescribed 500mg er Clarithromycin for 7 days. While on that antibiotic I was bit by a a fire ant and the bite became infected so 100mg twice a day for 7 days. I was on antibiotic treatment for 17days straight.(doesn't it usually take longer than that for a lesion to occur for transmission?
Thanks for the replies. I am too old to be pregnant. Was prescribed the chlarithromycin for post flu respiratory infection. Yes the flu made me nauseous but the drug made the nausea worse. I definitely now have gut problems - gas, diarrhoea, nausea, salivation etc. Yes, I will try the probiotics and peppermint tea & make an appointment to see the Dr.
2 weeks after radiotherapy my wisdom tooth has got an infection and crumbling. have had teeth problem for some time since i have had Cancer of left breast and lymph nodes. I stopped Metronidizole,and I finished Clarithromycin course....and started Cipro for 10 days..... ON 5/10 I made HIV test (HIV anti body,antigen,serum test) and it was negative. After that I had swollen gland on my neck for a week,but it was mild.....I went to another urologist after finishing cipro,he made telescope for the prostate and he found nothing,but till now..the situation still the same....
I had multiple unprotected oral sex exposures between 28th Feb and 6th Mar with CSWs in Thailand (Vaginal sex was always condom protected). Three days ago I had a full STD screening done wherein I gave a urine sample and a throat swab. Yesterday I gave blood samples for early detection STD tests using RNA PCR.
My urine and throat swab PCR test results came back yesterday. I'm clear of Gonnorrhea and Clamydia however I tested positive for Mycoplasma Hominis and Mycoplasma Genitalium.
s and all is negative. Tested negative for HIV with oral and Blood, last test for HIV blood was Aug 27th.
Still feeling flu like, body temp has been below normal at 97.5.
I know I need to re test for HIV but are the flu symptoms part of it?? or am I over reacting.
If my body was reacting to HIV wouldn't the test come out positive??
I caught MG through oral sex. I used a condom for vaginal sex and the condom was intact throughout. I know others too who have caught MG through oral. I've been struggling for last 4 months to get rid of MG. Been on 2 months of Antibiotics - tried Clarithromycin, Levofloxacin and Azithromycin. MG PCR results have been pos, neg, pos and then neg again. Symptoms however remain. I've tested negative for all other STDs. Never imagined how painful MG could be.
