I have had x-rays ,scans and pathology test and am now on CLARITHROMYCIN but after a week there is no change... any thoughts.???
31 M non-smoker, history of nasal allergies, 2.5 years of recurrent acute sinusitis. 4 infections in 6 months, re-ocurring 2-4 weeks after finishing antibiotics.

So, had brief encounter with sex worker. I am a male and she a female, just for clarity and accuracy of response though I'm confident that this is irrelevant. After a CT scan of the sinus apparently I don't have no evidence for acute or chronic sinusitis. However, I have a deviated septum towards the right side and I also noticed it said on the paper bilateral concha bullosa, what ever that means. My ENT told me just drink plenty of fluids and hopefully my symptoms get better when the warm weather comes around.
I was recently diagnosed with Chronic Sinusitis and I had a few questions that I didn't think about until I left the dr office.
1. Is it really "chronic", like a chronic disease?
2. Does it go away or is it constant?
3. Is it seasonal?
I'm going on my 3rd round of antibiotics and 2nd round of steroids. What happens next if these meds don't work?
hello I was just diagnosed with chronic sinusitis thru a CT scan. The only symptom that is driving me crazy is constant thick white mucus in my throat or chest ? it is impairing my breathing and making me wheeze. I have been to the pulmonologist and had lung function test and those numbers were good . I look up sinusitis symptoms, but rarely do I find anyone who has issue with mucus and breathing unless its thru their nose . The Dr thinks I may have chronic sinusitis from a deviated septum ..

I have been struggling for years now. I was hopsitalized with pseudomonas pnemonia in 2000. Ever since then I've had chronic sinusitis. I have had two sinus surgeries. I found a good ENT in Anchorage that took cultures - it was pseudomonas again. Been on antibiotics, etc. He said that I have biofilms. Been flushing like crazy.
Pls check out with an ENT specialist if you are having chronic rhinitis or sinusitis. If you have chronic sinusitis then it can lead to continuous production of mucus and less drainage leading to post nasal drip.Transillumination test and X-Ray or CT sinuses can help in diagnosing it. If allergic rhinitis is the cause of PND then it can be diagnosed by skin ***** tests or blood tests like RAST.
