Since yesterday I am running high fever 103-104f which does not come down without cold sponging, and is not responding to paracetamol/ibuprofen. I got blood work done for CBC/ESR, LFT, malarial parasite, typhoid/widal etc. All normal/negative.
Could this be ARS?
I also have a horrible headache and my appetite has fallen to shockingly low levels. I am barely able to eat 1/5th of what I usually eat.
It comes and go wether I take paracetamol or not. And my throat hurts sometimes like I am choking. But I can breath fine. I dont have headache, cough, runny nose. Someone help me to determime this. I consulted a doctor a week after I felt this. My cbc came back negative. I finished all the med they gave me but I dont think it worked. Thank you.
I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Clarithromycin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin. Still on Day 2 (only 24 post exposure) took 500mg Clarithromycin ER. The next day, today took Amoxicillin 500mg & Clarithromycin ER 500mg & Ceftiaxone 1gm IV (prefer not to explain but I am in healthcare).
But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.
Antibiotics, including clarithromycin, have no effect on viruses and therefore cannot prevent herpes, HPV, or HIV.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?
My wife, aged 51, had fever for about 15 days and was treated with clarithromycin from 28 to 30 June 2008 and then with ofloxacin 400 mg for 3 days (till 2 July 2008). Simultaneously she was treated with chloroquin (1g on 30 June, 500 mg on 1 July and 500mg on 2 July) She was also given 500 mg paracetamol 100 mg nimusulide on 2 for fever). Then on 2 July night she had convulsions and was put under intensive care. She regained consciousness after about 4 hours, but was in a confused state.
About an hour later, this discharge started coming out of my ear, followed by extremley sharp pains. I went to the GP, and was prescribed anti-biotics and ear drops. So I started taking them and a week later, the pain just got worse and worse, so I decided i'd ask my dad to take me to another GP. Same again "Take theese anti-biotics" So, now i'm stuck ina situation where i'm finding it hard to eat/drink/sleep - Leaving me with generally no energy (And chapped lips >.
Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
Wow I've never seen Paracetamol mentioned on here, it's always Tylenol lol. I'm from the UK and its all I take. Paracetamol is safe in pregnancy but they do advise to take the minimal effective dose and for the shortest time.
She said it was not possible oral swab to be done at that clinic (just genital). She decided to start a treatment (clarithromycin and ceftriaxone) for gonorrhea (without testing and diagnosis). I hope it works if I have oral gonorrhea. Sorry to bother you. I am just worried.

She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs. Will it be sufficient for the cure with regular dosage or please suggest any additional measure.

Hi I started triple therapy for h pylori last Tuesday evening. Amxocilian and clarithromycin are my two antibiotics, two x's daily for 10 days. I was scheduled to start my period yesterday (Sunday)5 days after taking the antibiotic pills and have not be late for over two years of taking the pill. I am taking Ortho tri cyclen. I also came down with a cold yesterday. Is it normal to be late?
