Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs. Will it be sufficient for the cure with regular dosage or please suggest any additional measure.
The blood test was positive and now I am under triple regimen ..(clarithromycin, amoxil, omeprazole) and am asked to take them for two weeks and after that go for another H pylori test which will most probably be negative.
My bleeding has stopped since then (took lots of liquids so the stool is softer).
My question is ... is just a blood test enough for H pylor or should i go for endoscopy or CT scan.
It was two weeks on omeprazole, clarithromycin and Metronidazol for two weeks. The original pain I was having was heartburn, bloating and a pain on my side just under my rib cage. The antibiotics gave me diarrhea several times each day. I still have the diarrhea, as well as the heartburn and pain on my side.
is this pain on my side something else? A hernia? A really bad ulcer? Or is this a sign that the treatment didn't work if I'm experiencing the exact same pains.
hi yes i started flagyl nd clarithromycin and omeprazole 9 days ago. so far no changes in fact back pain is different almost feels ike nerve pain all over somewhat affecting feelingsin my legs and arms feel like nerve pain type sensation in chest and sometimes even nipples.
clarithromycin 500 mg (1 tablet twice a day), omeprazole 20 mg (1 tablet twice a day) and amoxicillin 500 mg (2 tablets twice a day). After just talking first and second doses I have bitter taste in my mouth. In addition, I feel weak and little scared. I am thinking, may be it is side effect or the medicine just has a bitter taste. I am also scared, may be my liver can not handle these medicines as a result it gives this bitter taste. Please, explain why do I have this bitter taste.

i have an underactive thyroid and cannot tolerate more then 100mg of thyroxine per day i gat dizzy lightheaded anxiety i can handle 50mg no probs 75mg is a little annoying 100mg is a just bearable. so this has been the case for the last 2 yrs.
Just before christmas I had an endoscopy which showed I had mild inflamation of my upper and lower stmach, mild acid refux and HP infection. I was advised to eradicate the infection and so took a weeks triple therapy course of amoxcillin, clarithromycin and lanzoprazole. I think the infection has not been removed as I still have symptons even though I am taking 20mg of omeprazole daily.
I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Clarithromycin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin. Still on Day 2 (only 24 post exposure) took 500mg Clarithromycin ER. The next day, today took Amoxicillin 500mg & Clarithromycin ER 500mg & Ceftiaxone 1gm IV (prefer not to explain but I am in healthcare).
But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

Today, the standard triple therapy is amoxicillin, clarithromycin and a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole. At times, probiotics have been used.
A patient with gastritis, or peptic/duodenal ulcers may also have the presence of H-pylori.

namely Cefuroxime Axetil tablet, Ciprofloxaci, amoxyclavunalate, Clarithromycin, cefixime...and most doctors are saying this is LPRD...they prescribed omeprazole and no effect. Now I am taking esomeprazole while I am waiting for my ENT appointment.
STD related issues are scaring, so I thought I would better do that swabs and get it out of my head.
I just order for swabs for STDs at a lab or are there any specific test?
Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.
Antibiotics, including clarithromycin, have no effect on viruses and therefore cannot prevent herpes, HPV, or HIV.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?
Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime. Refrain from smoking, alcohol, fuzzy drinks and spicy food. If cough is due to reflux, this will help you.
Otherwise you will need X-ray chest and spirometry to rule out COPD. If this is the case then you will need treatment with bronchodilators, steroids and maybe antihistamines. Please consult your treating doctor. Take care!
Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? How long should I wait to engage in intercourse with my significant other?
She said it was not possible oral swab to be done at that clinic (just genital). She decided to start a treatment (clarithromycin and ceftriaxone) for gonorrhea (without testing and diagnosis). I hope it works if I have oral gonorrhea. Sorry to bother you. I am just worried.
Some syphilis bacteria are resistant to all macrolide antibiotics -- azithromycin, clarithromycin (Biaxin), and erythromycin. These strains are common in some geographic areas and apparently absent in others. Unfortunately, the technology to determine resistance is complex and expensive, and therefore data are not available from most geographic areas.
I´ve been having this problem for 10 months now... they get better or worse somedays and definitely they go away with clarithromycin, but I cannot take it forever.

s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted.
Does anyone have experience with taking this?
So this is day nine on the prilosec and day seven on the antibiotics (Ammoxicillin and clarithromycin)for the H pylori. My symptoms are still there SOMETIMES after eating. For the most part it has been a bland diet, except for the exception of a hamburger yesterday which caused extreme discomfort. Could this be a side effect of the medicine or my stomach trying to heal still? Please let me know if I should tough it out with the antibiotics or could this be something else?
