I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!
ve had bad ibs-d which only just died down in the past year or so with the odd once a fortnight flare up (instead of all day every day). Because it got better I stopped taking Citalopram in December as I felt fine anxiety and ibs wise. But this week I've had a sore stomach with d every day so far.
It could be down to stress as I'm planning my wedding for September. But I'm no more stressed this week than any of the past few weeks.

I have been on almost every depression pill known to man over the past 10 years and I can say the only prescriptions that did not cause me weight gain are the ones i'm currently on, which are citalopram and wellbutrin sr.
1st he shouldnt be saying I drink it with orange juice when it says NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.I am a mom of a3yr old BUT I get no matter how old they r always going to be a child to mom.Please let us know his age&Im assuming he lives with u.Whether he is a minor or not if he is under ur roof so"he blew a gasket" well WHO CARES how he reacted I hope u dnt.He has something that sounds like he is getting high on n ur home.
Can I take citalopram in the early am's like 1am or 2am, 3am etc ? am I right in thinking it does not matter what time you take as-long as it's at the same time each day? I need to start taking it at these early times due to work arrangements and I thought it maybe unusual to do so maybe there's some reason not to ?
I was just diagnosed with anxiety issues and they put me on xanax for the panic attacks that I can't control and also Citalopram for the daily use to keep me mello. They say I won't feel the full effect for a couple of weeks but I can feel like it's doing something because I don't have any attacks until about an half hour before I need to take my pill.

I have been on first 10 mg of Citalopram for 3 months and then 20 mg for 1 month. It was prescribed because I had a serious Cancer surgery, but they got it all. However, during my recovery, 4 family members passed away. i.e. the Rx. But now I do not want to be addicted to this pill, yet my dr. tells me to continue because of the stress I have been thru. I am more afraid of getting off them than continuing taking same.
I knew something was wrong. Well I saw a new doctor and he is weaning me off citalopram (1/2 a pill a day). He thinks it made me gain weight. I kmow take wellbutrin (twice a day). I hope this helps me lose the weight. How are you???
I have just started taking Citalopram for Depression and Anxiety in the last few weeks. I've forgotten again to ask my doctor whether I can drink taking the medication. My dose is 30mg per day at the minute if this has anything to do with it.
I don't want to go on a binge drinking session I just want to know if I can have a few drinks pints when out.
Can anybody with experience of taking Citalopram help me out with whether there are any effects?
Nothing I threw at it helped. I had to cut a 10 mg pill into quarters and only take a quarter of a pill a day. Within a couple weeks I was able to take the prescribed dose with no further trouble. Ditto the same thing for my husband.
SSRIs usually don't take effect immediately, so be patient. It's worth it to persevere.
Alright so my sister in law is planning to pay for my gender identification and she said shed take me sometime this week, I'm 14 weeks.. is this too early? Should I ask her to wait?

Basically escitalopram is the new citalopram with less side-effects and requires only half the dosage and I think it is the reason for it's cheaper price.

My Dr. (nurse practitioner) gave me Citalopram 20-mg to take with the buspirone and advised me to break it in half for the first week and then start on the whole 20-mg second week.. I was wondering if the two combines would hurt me.. I also take Micardis 40-mg once in the morning and Propranolol 20-mg that I take in the evening.. I just want to make sure before i take the Citalopram.. And if you suggest I take it, what is a good time, morning, afternoon or evening? Thank you and God bless..
I am 21 years old. healthy. no known family medical problems. I take citalopram for anxiety, beyaz for birth control, and sprironolactone for acne.
Last night i had the weirdest thing happen to me. I was completely asleep and dreamt of trying to solve some sort of puzzle or problem that i just couldn't figure out. I was suddenly "shocked" awake like someone had stuck my finger in a socket.
I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with anxiety disorder so was prescribed 10mg of citalopram, took it every morning and it did seem to make a difference but maybe was just a placebo affect. Was on it for 3 weeks the doctors upped it too 20mg. Bern on 20mg for 3 days and dont feel well at all. Got headaches, feel sick, tired. Was wondering could 10mg have been enough to help with anxiety? Also how long will these side effects last?
xanax ( never had it before) then on Tuesday morning I started taking 0.5mg of citalopram (celexa). Yesterday the dr told me to stop taking the celexa and continue with the xanax. Which I can take up to 4 times a day. I tried citalopram 50 mg back in 2010-2011 but was taken off of it because of increased anxiety and also sucidal thoughts. We decided the dr and I to try a baby dose of citalopram this time and see if it would help. Because I am at a different place now than I was back then.
