Avatar f tn i would try to look into all your options if cost is the only issue. i know cost really is a big issue for a lot of people...but sometimes you can find a way around it.
Avatar m tn I really appreciate the comments. I can get generics for Celexa (Citalopram)..anyone have experience with this one? Zyban (Bupropion, similar to wellbutrin) or Effexor (Veniafaxine)...not leaning towards this one...Of course I would perfer to chose from these 3 do to cost...I did find an interesting article on hepc and AD's http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleId=163101866 please keep the opinions coming..Just feel pretty blaaaa, no motivation, high fatigue, etc..
Avatar f tn The only thing I'm nervous about is the cost. I heard doctors who can prescribe you subs usually dont accept insurance and even if they do it is very costly!
Avatar n tn I have United Health Care and I am on betaseron injections every other day, Gabapentin and Citalopram. So far my insurance has been pretty good about it. Otherwise the injections alone would cost a little less than 2000.00 a month. My out of pocket for just the medication in 44.00 due to the fact that I just changed pharmacy's. Add in co-pays and it's a whole other ball of wax. Be good everyone!
3144915 tn?1343065374 We get along great until my symptons interupt our plans or cost us money. I have no insurance..I cant hold a job (past 10+ years)..I am always behind on laundry, household chores, paying bills, overdue libraby books you name it. I have folders, file systems, notes, to do list ...nothing is helping. I end up feeling sad and overwhelmed at the end of the day. I can"t afford more testing or buying a different med to see if it works better (last one cost $200 and made it worse).
Avatar n tn I recently was given Wellbutrin for the sexual side effects I was having from the Zoloft (decreased libido). After taking it for 30 days (150mg) a day, I lost my medical insurance and could not afford to pay cash. I had to quit cold turkey. I have been feeling distressed after one week without taking it. I have anger outbursts, crying fits, deep sadness. I am still on the Zoloft (100mg) a day plus I have to take Synthroid for hypothyroid disease.
Avatar m tn I should also mention that I do not have health insurance at the moment. This whole ordeal with the hospital and doctors office has cost me a lot of money. This is why I have turned to the forums in an effort to get some answers.

Avatar f tn Also there is the Patient Assistance Program where the companies that make the prescriptions can provide the medications without cost. This would depend on the specific medication and eligibility factors A psychiatrist or other medical doctor or practitioner would have to fill out the forms. There are clinics where a psychiatrist would have a sliding scale fee. An organization such as NAMI could provide information on where to obtain a referral list.
335728 tn?1331418012 I don't want to do much of anything around the house and I have gained more weight and I know what that is from...EATING TOO MUCH JUNK! Perhaps he will increase my Citalopram but then again he might leave that for someone else to deal with...don't want too much on any Neurologists plate at one time now do we? (Ever the cynic eh?) Wish me luck and I will let you know what happens!
480448 tn?1426952138 ONE important thing to remember that I learned, and have never forgotten is that these two effects CANNOT exist without anxiety.....but that anxiety can exist without these sensations. Derealization is basically a change, an alteration in the PERCEPTION or experience of the external world....in other words...everything LOOKS very strange, very "unreal" (movie like, in my experiences). Depersonalization is a subjective experience of unreality of one's self. So the difference is...
Avatar f tn FMLA - You are entitled to it. Does your company offer any short term or long term disability. It's very hard and I've seen no cases on this forum where someone get's SSDI during treatment or after unless they've treated many times or are at ESLD. Treatment one time doesn't usually incapacitate someone to the point they are disabled but I suppose it does happen. If you have a good paying job with good benefits, by all means in this economy you want to continue to work.
Avatar f tn in the pill gets digested differently at different acid levels so if your stomach acid worked one way with brand name, it might digest in another way with generic (this is why some pills need to be taken with food, others without). This will change how fast it gets into your system and how fast you break it down. You could end up with lower levels over time, or higher levels over time. This is rare, but it happens.
Avatar m tn I don't know how much more i can take of this but i'm not cruel enough to leave my mum without a son. thanks for listening and if someone feels the same as me i really feel for you people.
544292 tn?1268886268 Good Morning Tram Warriors! I just finished reading the last thread and I'm still laughing about fullmetalalchemist learning to spell "$ucks" without medhelp blocking out that word. I got blocked and stars thru that word so many times as I was recovering! Because it does suck. Yes. It *****. Good to see we worked thru it after all this time. :D I just love you guys! Such honesty and kindness and willingness to help. It's such a blessing!
165308 tn?1323190145 My second feeling is shortness of breath, 3rd lightheaded, I'm shaking and I just cannot seem to lay down without feeling sicker. I don't know what to do! And to make matters even worse, I'm emetophobic (fear or vomiting) so that doesn't make this any better for me right now. Does anyone have a clue of what's wrong with me? I'm driving myself crazy! I just wanna sleep!
429700 tn?1308011423 I cannot afford the hearing aids, though. My health insurance doesn't cover any of the cost, so I have to go without. I take Provigil right now for the fatigue, and my neuro says that it helps with the ADD; however, I am just as scatterbrained as ever taking more Provigil. ADD and other cognitive issues could be the reason I retire early (in a couple of years) or retire on disability.
Avatar m tn I think talking to a shrink would be best - they should know how people react to one compared to another without any riba or ambien or anything affecting the way it's PERCEIVED to be acting. You know what I am trying to say?
607502 tn?1288251140 It's easy to turn things around on someone without them even knowing it. She probably feels really shut out right now too considering your so depressed. Thats hard on a loved one. Both of you want to feel in control. My suggestion is to go in there and say that you don't want to talk or argue right at the moment because you are feeling really horrible. Then tell her that you love her to death. We want to feel appreciated. I know it's hard for you right now because of the depression.
Avatar f tn I am not completely stable...but much more so then I was 5 years ago without meds. But anyway, yes I do believe it progresses with age.
Avatar n tn I'm going to find a GI and get a prostate exam just for peace of mind. I have the insurance so I should use it for things like this and try to nip problems in the bud. WHAT is amazing and scary, is that the other major pain I've had in my life is an upward shooting pain in my left pectoral area. Started at around age 18-20.
Avatar f tn Well it didn't I was took to the hopital 24 hours later still with all these symptoms and was told it was serotion syndrom and sent home..I lost all kinds of weight I went for almost 2 weeks without eating and barely drinking and walking constantly day and night I was wired up. I was scared to be left alone I didn't shower for 3 days I was told. I didn't realize that at the time that's how messed up I was.
Avatar f tn It also gives a person a lot if you can manage to help somebody out here or there. We're going to bear the same burdens, with or without friends. Put your family drana on hold, and reach out to people who do relate to you, me for one?
Avatar n tn It's just a hassle to drive a hour for a prescription let alone the pain of sitting that long in a car without my meds. I was attempting to find a new Dr. Closer to home and he is the one who gave me the BULLS@#T. I was warned by my other Dr. that I might run into this because of the High dose I take. I think that the new A@#H#@E Dr. just did not want to take me as a patient so he lied and used it as an excuse to turn me away. But I want to be sure so that another Dr. can't say the same thing.
Avatar n tn It seems like you might not have understood chrissybill's question? Her wrinkles appeared without water. I have the same condition and I would love info on that. Mine started out as a bit sore and then progressed to this wrinkled affect -- first with the thumbs and now the other digits as well. I will look into the thyroid issue. Do you have any other insight? Thanks so much.
