s now been 4 weeks since I took my last citalopram and nothing has changed. How long can the side effects from the citalopram affect the Wellbutrin?
I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!

Well I saw a new doctor and he is weaning me off citalopram (1/2 a pill a day). He thinks it made me gain weight. I kmow take wellbutrin (twice a day). I hope this helps me lose the weight. I am taking citalopram, wellbutrin and phentermine My weight is going up and I am sweating all the time. is it because of this combo of meds? What can I take for weight loss?.
I have been on almost every depression pill known to man over the past 10 years and I can say the only prescriptions that did not cause me weight gain are the ones i'm currently on, which are citalopram and wellbutrin sr.
I was a complete nervous wreck when I was first diagnosed with Hep C. However, I just stayed on the Wellbutrin and, as I learned more about Hep C and its treatment and prognosis, I gradually became less anxious. By the time I started Hep C treatment I was still somewhat anxious about side effects and treatment, but I was not depressed.

i just want to know would i stop taking citalopram and start taking wellburtrin, or would i cut the dosage of citalopram down and take the new wellbutrin with it. i really need to change as the weight gain can not go on, i have even considered stopping my medication which would mean having my anxiety and panic disorder back in full force....
Hi. I started wellbutrin xl 150 mg a few months ago after having tachycardia chest tightness and panic. Upped it to 300 mg after a few weeks. I also have clorazepate (tranxene) 7.5 mg for when needed. Then after having tachycardia still I started metoprolol 25 mg (which I cut in half) to help with daily anxiety and lower my heart rate. It has definitely lowered my heart rate but I still don't feel right. Still have an uneasy feeling and tightness in my chest.
A good combo to prevent lethargy induced by mirtazapine is to take mirtazapine at night and Wellbutrin in the day. You can also try the SNRIs and also consider that healthy diet and exercise are also extremely important in both physical and mental health.
Tapering citalopram should be done by gradually reducing you dose. I would do this very slowly to avoid any bad withdrawal symptoms. Reducing a quarter of your dose each 2 weeks should work.
So my doctor supplemented me with 100 mg of wellbutrin. Well, so far I really like the wellbutrin. It gives a boost of energy in the morning, and I feel my sex drive coming back. However, I feel like it's a little ridiculous for me to be taking one drug to counteract another. Anyone else experience this?

I have been taking a combination of Wellbutrin XR and Paxil CR for several years now. I do very well on this combination of medications. I asked my doctor recently about about trying Cymbalta because I have recentently learned I have arthritis in my low back and both hips. I would have to titrate off of my current meds first. His main remark was that if I am doing well on my current meds he didn't recommend the change.

m on so many anti depressants and anti anxiety medications, including rispedal, neurontin, clonodine, citalopram, klonopin, topamax, trazadone, and Wellbutrin. I KNOW that this is a ton of medication, but I suffer from severe anxiety and panic attacks. I've had it ever since I was 21 and now I'm 43. I was wondering if I could try introducing natural herbs into the mix slowly, like valerium or camomile?
my doctor has me on paxil 40 mg and wellbutrin xl 300 mg ..... is this combination beneficial to me cuz every since i've combined the two i been feeling more depressed than ever and i cant sleep at night so she has me on restoril for that ..... am i heading in the right direction? or am i making things worse?
My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? I think thats why my doctor try the zoloft again because i am thinking i am itching and i am not really having reaction to the medicine but he said you do have sentitvie to medicine that why he had a backup medcine for me. my question is anybody taking Zoloft 25mm or Citalopram 20mm before and any side effects from these medicine? also any tips on controling my anxiety and depression ?
This is entirely dependent on your individual reaction. For me, neither was much of a factor with any of these things, and most ssris other than possibly Prozac tend to be sedating when they work well, but still, some will get these problems and some won't. These two meds are very similar. Celexa came first, and when the patent ran out, they played with the structure, took some things out, and made Lexapro. Reportedly it has fewer side effects, but who knows if that's really true?
To treat the anxiety i started on Citalopram and this medication only made me very tired. (falling asleep in class). after talking with my counselor i started back on Add meds 2 days ago starting at 50mg Vyvanse. Once again just as focalin did this made me very sick last night causing the palor and tremor just as focalin had. I experienced twitches and insomnia last night got 2 hours of sleep but and 5 the night before but am awake but i feel terrible.

I switched from Fluoxetine to Citalopram about 6 months ago as the Fluoxetine was making me gain weight. Since I've been on Citalopram I've put on even more, and am now about 2 stone (14kg) heavier than I was before I started.
I don't want to come off ADs as they're helping me so much, but at the same time I don't know if I can cope with any more weight gain.
Has anyone experienced weight gain with certain antidepressants then been able to lose with a different one?
The combination of drugs, citalopram that is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and amphetamine and dextroamphetamine that are dopamine and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor is not recommended. Amphetamines may possess serotonergic activity and should not be administered with SSRIs as there is an additive risk of serotonin syndrome. Enhanced sympathomimetic effects is possible.
