Avatar f tn I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!
Avatar f tn Hi folks...I was researching taking CBD oil (non THC) for sleep and anxiety and was wondering if anyone knew if there was a negative impact on retina. I am 43, eat well, do not smoke or drink or use drugs. I had a retinal detachment 18 months ago...just wanted to eliminate CBD oil if there was any known negative correlation with its use and the retina. Hope this makes sense.

There a multiple studies out there that have proved such that Cannabis Indica may possibly be used as an alternative anti-psychotic. http://www.******************.org/new/detail.asp?
Avatar n tn i think you're safe. No one checks THC levels on newborns either..baby will be fine I'm sure.
Avatar n tn legs, arms and joints pain;Uninterested in life and its activity) for several days after taking Cipralex (Escitalopram, 20 mg) on an empty stomach (while it is written on the leaflet that it is allowed and does not matter at all!!) and swallow herbs solution with it (rather than water)? 2. Is it a panic attack? and what is my diagnosis? and how to reverse the negative symptoms of doing so?
Avatar n tn Combining Alprax and Citalopram can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Please discuss with your doctor for alternate medications. In the meantime, I would strongly caution you not to drive or operate heavy machinery while on these medications as you might injure yourself or others. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Your baby should be OK, but I would stop smoking both tobacco and maijuana if you want to continue with a healthy pregnancy. It is also suggested to severly minimize alcohol intake, eat healthy, have good pre-natal care and only take medications that are prescribed to you by your physician who is aware of your pregnancy and is in consultation with you OB or midwife. Please take good care of yourself and your baby. Good luck to you.

Cat Are you on medical marijuana? And THC isnt typically found in urine unless you are smoking or intaking in some fashion marijuana and how it could be 66% of the content makes no sense either, its almost as if someone poured thc oil into a jar without a little bit of urine. Could you please clarify this question?
Avatar n tn I agree with Babs and Tuckamore and there is no way I would take illegal drugs and risk my pain medication or anything else for that matter. I do know that my doctor has tested for THC. I have gained trust with my doctor but my doctor still has to drug test me and I personally told my doctor to test me anytime....I have nothing to hide. When I was working they would also test for THC ... so I think all or most of them do. I wish you the best but if you really need your pain medicine...
Avatar f tn t much matter if you test positive or not. THC has risks associated with it, and you need to inform your OB of your use so they can monitor the baby for possible complications. But I just want to let you know...I've had more than a few moms on here who thought they could fool a drug test by stopping well before delivery, but they don't realize that meconium will test positive no matter when you smoked. Chances are that the baby is fine.
Avatar n tn I was really wanting ask if pain mgt, tested every visit,,and could explain thc,,,and ;;continue treatment;;thank you,,, shouldnt be abig deal in my book..
Avatar m tn I mean THC derived from cannabis.
Avatar m tn Specifically, marijuana use with antibiotics can interfere with the absorption and metabolism of the antibiotics in the gastrointestinal tract by affecting the enzymes needed to absorb the antibiotics. This can slow down the amount of time it takes the antibiotics to begin working properly to fight the infection. Marijuana use can also slow down the healing process of the body, which results in a longer recovery time.
Avatar m tn Hi Sorry to burst your bubble but you will suffer withdrawals mine took a few weeks to kick in I came off effexor. But I know my group that Citalopram is not easy to come off you would be better going back on it and weaning off slowly follow cita's withdrawal programme my support group they are on the web.
Avatar m tn 1 mixture of (S)-Citalopram and (R)-Citalopram]; Escitalopram [(S)-Citalopram) is a pure enantiomer. The dosages for Escitalopram are typically 1/2 of those for Citalopram, and there are fewer side effects, suggesting that most side effects come from the (R)-enantiomer.'' Basically escitalopram is the new citalopram with less side-effects and requires only half the dosage and I think it is the reason for it's cheaper price. -http://en.wikipedia.
15256956 tn?1439425231 Let me get this straight. You have a psychiatrist who took you off an antidepressant in just one week? And isn't dealing with the withdrawal problem? The minimum taper should have been six weeks from my experience. You also should research Buspar. See if you think it actually works much of the time. And if your anxiety is related to the heart problem, the beta blocker should theoretically at least have solved that problem.
Avatar m tn You can just tell them the situation... that you burning off that fat to clean out the thc, and that it might take a few more weeks until more fat is burned off. You can also stop exercising as Ga Guy said. And drink lots of water. I had 3 drug tests in my life and passed all 3 times. I quit smoking about 2 weeks before each drug test... drank plenty of water each day, exercised, and then the day before the drug test I'd always pig out on pizza...
1882137 tn?1322257539 Welcome to the forum I take xanax and use thc (MMJ is legal in CO) on occasion no problems helps a lot with side effects.
Avatar m tn In appropriate neurochemical, functional, and behavioural non-clinical experiments, escitalopram shows greater efficacy and faster onset of action than comparable doses of citalopram. The lower efficacy of citalopram in these studies is apparently due to the inhibition of the effect of the S-enantiomer by the R-enantiomer, possibly via an allosteric interaction with the serotonin transporter.
Avatar n tn t losing any bit of fat, and even while detoxing yourself you came up positive because none of THC was leaving your body? That makes sense right? I failed my drug test because my fat cells are working over time constantly to keep every bit of fat my body has left. So even if I quit and was detoxing myself, because my fat cells cant leave, because I don't eat I'll still be positive? And for how long?
Avatar f tn The closest thing would be synthetic THC, and while that is used medicinally and helps some people it also has side effects that the natural plant doesn't have. But if you look on the archives of just this forum, you will find a whole lot of people who got their first anxiety attacks while stoned. It's the main reason most people stop using the stuff eventually -- it stops being fun.
Avatar f tn Near no panic attacks but still this feeling of detachment and feeling out of place... and fear. I have less vivid dreams but they come and go. I am scared that this will last forever. I was prescribed citalopram 10mgs but i haven't taken this as I have faith i can get cured without it. I also cannot imagine suffering from the side effects of citalopram as what I am experiencing is already horrifying. Does this last forever? What can I do to cure it?
