caught a dirty urin today for opiets.im on a quinolone for pnamonia. could this cause a false positive.
I took ciprofloxacin (cipro) and developed what appeared to be a sun burn or chemical burn on the head and one side of my penis (upper right side). I had a bad cough with yellowish phlegm so the pharmacy gave me ciproloxacin pills and recommended I take 2 per day.
Not 30 minutes after the first pill I felt a tingling sensation on the head of my penis. Once scratched (abnormally good sensation) the "itch" went away for some 5 or 10 minutes.
Usually, if you did not suffer any side effect last time you took it, it is likely that you will not be suffering any this time. Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of medicines called quinolone antibiotics. This is indicated for bacterial infection and it works by stopping the growth of bacteria. You should not take milk, yoghurt, antacids for indigestion or heartburn, or medicines containing calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium or aluminium at the same time as ciprofloxacin. (See end of factsheet for more information.)

Some antibiotics have very poor penetration of the prostatic capsule, others, such as Ciprofloxacin, Co-trimoxazole and tetracyclines penetrate well. In acute prostatitis, penetration of the prostate is not as important , because the intense inflammation disrupts the prostate-blood barrier. It is more important to choose a bacteriocidal antibiotic (kills bacteria, eg quinolone).

You did not get syphilis. Onoflox is a quinolone antibiotic, relate to ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin an other members of the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics. it has no activity against syphilis an certainly would neither prevent syphilis not in any way change the reliability of test results.
Likewise, taking amoxicillin more than a month (51 days the first time) after your exposure would not change your syphilis test result.
Now about the sulfa antibiotics, i assume you are on Bactrim, there are cases of Bacterial resistance, so call your doctor and tell him that the pain is still there and it is not getting better and he may prescribe you a Quinolone (Ciprofloxacin). Hope this helps.

I had unprotected sex with a woman about 2 months ago. The next day I began experiencing a slight burn during urination. I went to a doctor who gave me a weeks worth of Doxy and two other pills, Not sure what they were. After 4 days of Doxy things were still getting worse. I went back and he the gave me 500mg of Cipro to be taken 2 times daily for a week. Painful urination persisted. Went back to the doc who then put me on Levofloxicin 500 mg/day x 4 weeks.

No. I havent taken any antibiotics.
I saw another doctor today and the doctor doesnt listen to me!!! He said I shouldnt have this pain, said maybe its in my head, said maybe I'm a hypochondriac, said I should force myself to do things (which I already do), said that I shouldnt let myself "think" that I'm sick. Like honestly, I'm not crazy, these are REAL symptoms I am feeling. Its SO discouraging when the doctor makes me feel like I'm a fake. I dont understand.
Unfortunately, I do not really know a lot about Quinolone toxicity. I did some research, but as you probably already know, the research is very divided on this subject. Have you tried working with a physical therapist. He or she may be able to help you develop a routine that can get you back in the gym, but still protect those areas that remain painful for you. Sorry I could not provide you with more information.

It is difficult to say if they are due to the underlying disease or due to ciprofloxacin. You should consult your doctor for a complete evaluation and diagnosis.
What antibiotic is better to take for a tooth infection/ absess tooth Ciprofloxacin or Bactrim?
m treated with a topical antibiotic belonging to the quinolone - twice courses for 2 weeks. It is better but still the infection is not gone. Some of you have any experience? To continue now only local for 3th course or to be taken and internal antibiotics scheme and for how long?

What is the different of ciprofloxacin 500mg and phenazopyridine 200mg want are they use for
the alternative class of drugs which are active for treatment of chronic prostatitis are the quinolone antibiotics. Of these, I would recommend that you not use ciprofloxacin ( a favorite for prostatitis therapy) but instead use a related drug such as levofloxacin which has better activity against chlamydia, just in case this is related to your recent chlamydial infection (I doubt that it is but if we can cover both bases, why not).
I had a swollen right testicle which was treated by ciprofloxacin 500g twice daily. The swelling went and the pain in the testicle reduced but then my left one started to hurt, is that conman for the infection to swap sides. I also have pain in my lower back and lower abdomen and very painful headaches. The doctor didn't seem to bothered about it or even check it over. They have prescribed me another 10 day course of ciprofloxacin.
