A SBP of 150 is about right for 7 - 8 METS. I personally exercise at 8 - 10 METS and at 7 METS my SBP is usually around 140. Much depends on your conditioning. When I reach my peak METS of about 12 - 13 my SBP will be around 160, but I'm 54 years old and exercise every day. A 20 year old should be able to work out at that rate with no issues. Did you exercise to your peak or did you still have more reserve left? My concern would be more about only achieving 7.
My ecg looked fine the whole time. While exercising my SBP went up to around 190. My DBP lowered from 85 to 77 or so during exercise. After the exercise during the recovery period (seated in a chair), my SBP gradually decreased, but by DBP instantly dropped to around 55 and stayed that low for around a while. My heart rate was elevated to around 140 this whole time as well. It took around an hour for my heart rate to come down past 100 and my DBP to come up to 75 or so again.
While there I was taking ciprofloxacin and azithromycin 500 mg daily for prophylaxis. Two days after returning, I noticed mild burning on urination, and next day there was a clear to slightly yellow discharge, in small amounts. I saw my doctor who gave me 2mg of azithromycin plus 500mg for 3 days in addition to cefixime 400mg x 2 tablets the first day followed by 400mg per day for 3 days. The dysuria worsened, however.
I don't know if I have Trich or not but I was wondering if taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2x daily would cure it?

I'm 22 years old guy, I have a pharyngithis and tonsillits for 2 weeks, the doctor gave me 5 day ciprofloxacin ( I don't know if it works for tonsillitis ) and 7 day nimesulide. In the second day taking the ciprofloxacin, my throat pain went away and until now just the pharyngithis and tonsillits persistis.
Thank you for your warm welcome. I had a thoracotomy on 6/28/07, to remove an interior spinal column calcification which developed as the result of a rafting accident 13 years ago. I had had back problems since that event, but nothing that stopped me from living pretty fully. They took on a new character in spring of 07. My surgery was not elective. My spinal column was 85% occluded, with the calcium growth being the largest my surgeon had ever seen.
I am a fairly new RN at an LTAC. Called a rapid response for a patient with hx of renal failure and CHF. Pt was on the vent on A/C and became very lethargic with change in mental status. Breath sounds on left were rhonchi and on right fine rhonchi and wheezing. Her V/S were baseline tachy low 100s, sbp 140s, 02 96% at rate of 10, tv 450, peep of 5 (I think). So we drew ABGs, CPP, did EKG. P02 was 56.

Hi, im a 25 year old South African male who recently had unprotected receptive intercourse with another male. My doctor at the time felt I was at risk so decided to put me on a prophylaxis for 4 weeks (commencing about 58 hours after the exposure). This was in January. After the prophylaxis ended, I tested negative at the end of February (rapid test).
However, I have researched the issue at length and found evidence that at max exercise in trained men, SBP of 210 to 230 is the norm. To answer the question for myself, I enrolled in a cardiac rehab class and had them check my bp at varying levels of exertion. The significant finding was that bp tended to shoot up rather quickly as I started exercising, but if I did an extended warmup at heart rate of 110 or less, it reached significantly lower levels at the greater exertion.
He mentioned a prophylaxis and antibiotics. I was worried about HIV and thought that this prophylaxis was for aids. He gave me a shot and a 10 day supply of doxicycline (antibiotic). After, I realized that this was for the prevention of an STD. I have searched the internet and have not found anything about STD prophylaxis. I am now concerned/wondering what Shot I was given. Has anybody heard of this type of treatment??

It is difficult to say if they are due to the underlying disease or due to ciprofloxacin. You should consult your doctor for a complete evaluation and diagnosis.
d like to travel (South America, India, Africa) require immunizations/prophylaxis. What immunizations/prophylaxis are considered safe to take/receive at this age? Should we steer clear of these destinations for a while or can they be visited safely? We would only be able to travel for 2 weeks at a time and wouldn't plan on going very far off the tourist trail.

Patients with a patent foramen ovale are not at an increased risk of endocarditis and antibiotic prophylaxis is not indicated. For those who have had their PFO closed with a transcatheter device, endocarditis prevention is recommended for at least 6 months following the device implant.
HIV Then start prophylaxis within two hours of exposure.
hepatitis B Then get the hepatitis B Immune Globulin (HBIG) injection
and initiate the hepatitis B vaccine series if you are unvaccinated;
no treatment necessary if you are vaccinated with known immunity.
hepatitis C Then no customary prophylaxis; but consult your physician or
other care provider about experimental post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
