He diagnosed prostatitis and put me on ciprofloxacin for 10 days. He also did urinalysis and nothing came up reactive. WBC normal. Everything normal. So my question is, is my condition likely prostatitis or should I be concerned with an NGU that is not chlamydia? I have a girlfriend who I am concerned about spreading something to. Many thanks!
On the other hand, if your doctor thinks that you have prostatitis, ciprofloxacin is good therapy for prostatitis (prostatitis is not caused by chlamydia).
If you had chlamydia, which is unlikely, cipro however could mask its presence.

2/7/09 Dr says it's Prostatitis. Have taken three 500mg. Overnight, severe facial swelling occurs BUT only above decaying right incisor tooth. Slight indication of infection/soreness at incisor site prior to cipro. Docs not back till tomorrow, do I not ingest todays dosage?

On the second last day of doxycycline this time around I felt sharp spermadic cord pulses with testicle movement which subsided the last day of antibiotics and once the antibiotics were finished.

Uncommon causes includeMycobacterium
tuberculosis, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, and Candida species
You should get yourself treated with doxycycline, alpha blocker such as tamsulosin and continue ciprofloxacin. In addition I advise all my patients to sit in lukewarm water for 15 minutes morning and evening.
Prostatitis is a difficult disease to treat and you should be patient and give sometime to your urologist.

I was prescribed ciprofloxacin to treat what might be suspected as prostatitis following the STD. I took ciprofloxacin for approx two months. I had to stop taking ciprofloxacin due to side effects. The symptoms have since continued, and I have almost daily pain in my pelvic floor region.
The pain feels like my pelvic floor region is tightening up and pulling the scrotum and penis inwards. Around the anus it feels hot and tight. The whole area feels 'pinched' and sore.
no more testing done. I was given a shot of Rocephin 250mg, prescribed Ciprofloxacin for 7 days; however, symptoms did not improve within 3 days and Doxycycline 100mg a day for 10 days. Symptoms improved, but did not fully disappear. After completing antibiotics a couple of days passed and I started with current symptoms. Dull testicular ache (Ultrasound performed and revealed no issues aside from small inguinal hernias).

My family doctor put me on antibiotics for a brief period of time (5 days). However, my urologist has put me on "Ciprofloxacin HCL" 500 mg 2x a day for fifteen days. After day 12 of taking "Ciprofloxacin HCL", the pain/swelling has subsided and my urethra is starting to appear/ look normal again.
The antibiotics are working, so that indicates an infection. However, how come the urine samples given indicated no infection present when samples were obtained?
I went to 2 different urologists, and they both put me on.antibiotics ( 3 weeks of ciprofloxacin and after that 2 weeks of doxacyclin) with no benefit at all. I had also a feeling that I have to urinate frequently, even when.I have just finished urinating. In february 2018, I developed chills and severe dysuria, and was admitted to hospital. The urine culture showed e.coli. I was diagnosed as acute bacterial prostatitis and was given antibiotics according to the sensitivity for 6 weeks.
Some of your problem may be prostatitis. As well as that there may be quite a lot of understandable anxiety. I would need more information but overall you should be fine given proper management.
It doesn't sound like herpes. Google prostatitis or chronic prostatitis/pelvic pain syndrome and see if that fits. If it does, you'll need to have a digital (finger) prostate exam to see if your prostate is enlarged. It could be yeast, but it's worth checking out.
Ask your doctor to get a PSA test done, this is a good way of finding out how your Prostate is going, I suffered with Prostatitis for a long time and was on Doryxcyline antibiotic for nearly 12 months, at no stage did I get blood in my urine or semen, the Urologist that examined me told me to mastubate every day, seems this helps to clear the infection, I did as I was told, I am telling you this because at no time did I have any trace of blood in my semen, dont leave things to long I dont need t

I was confident that i was cured of my illness and stopped taking in antibiotics. After a few days, it hurts while peeing when i am dehydrated...
