1084115 tn?1385228589 the test came back positive and the doc (gastr doc)told me to take ciprofloxacin 500 twice daily for 10 days. i told him that im not sure i want to take this as i know its hard on the liver, he said i can take it as he asked back my hepatologist (they both work in the same hospital/transplant center).
Avatar m tn But If you are being treated for dental problems sometimes certain strains of viridans strep. Strep mutans and Strep. Sanguinis can cause dental cavities if you have a problem with bleeding gums for example. It is not an STD. You normally have these bacteria and can get them anywhere. Possibly from a kiss since these particular strains like the oral cavity. But if they just said "strep viridans" it could be from the skin or elsewhere.
Avatar m tn I am have used it for uti or bladder infections.
Avatar n tn I've been taking Ciprofloxacin for about a week. On tuesday I went to the gym for the first time in a while, and for the past few days my shoulder muscles have been sore. I saw on the instructions with my medicine that there's a risk of tendonitis while taking Ciprofloxacin, is this something I should be worried about? I wouldn't have exercised that much if I had known. The soreness has been getting steadily better.
1726450 tn?1316282511 They also prescribe Cipro before dental work for us that are decompensated and are prone to infections which can be very serious for us. And cause us to be hospitalized and put on IV antibiotics.
Avatar m tn The sinus flush part was for the left side infection. Yes, continue with antibiotics for the dental infection, as those follow the usual medical model for infections.
Avatar m tn I have antiboitics for bladder infections, sialdentitis (submandibular gland), three different kinds of antiboitics for oral thrush, two different ones for an abscess that had to be cut and drained, sinus infections, and bronchitis. My doctor knows and so does the pharmacy that I take thyroid medication and everytime i get a consultation about the antiboitic they never mention it being a problem. I can't say I have ever had any problems with it, but everyone is different.
Avatar f tn Sometimes, nausea can be caused by infections of the GI tract. You may need antibiotics if this is the case. Norfloxacin or Ciprofloxacin are good choices in this case. I also reccomend that you try homeopathy in addition to taking regular medicines. You could try Ipecaec 200 X 2 times a day X 7 days. Homeopathy works well for nausea (in addition to regular medicines).
Avatar f tn Two repair attempts failed and she has had ongoing infections in that foot for the last 9 months. She is generally very fit and healthy and was a keen athlete. The only childhood illness that she's had is Chickenpox. To date blood tests have not identified any underlaying causes of the infection. This may not be enough information, but I wondered whether anyone has come across anything like this before? Could she have an immune system deficiency and if so what ?If so please contact me.
Avatar f tn I don't know if I have Trich or not but I was wondering if taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2x daily would cure it?
Avatar m tn sorry for all the ?
Avatar f tn Hello, If you are a male, and after a sexual encounter, you have developed symptoms consistent with chlamydia and gonnorhea, and all commonly tested for STD’s are negative, demand that you be tested to mycoplasma genitalium. If you have been through the gambit of doctors, from urologists to infectious disease, and no matter the antibiotic thrown at you, you never get better, demand that you get tested for mycoplasma genitalium.
Avatar f tn Said it seems to be a yeast infection with a possible UTI. They gave me Diflucan one day pill and Ciprofloxacin to take for 10 days. I have 5 days left on the meds. I feel that it's made it feel better but I still have a bit of itching, burning and irritation right around the vulva. I went today for a full STD panel and will get the results soon, but I am freaking out. Also my body is itchy, is this from the Ciprofloxacin ? I just want some answers....arrgghh.
Avatar n tn I would like to know why laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is not a good option for my daughter to undertake while receiving dental care as she needs to be sedated. I am told that she needs to be adminstered the normal anesthesia as if she were receiving a surgery in a hospital. I understand that a cardiologist as well as the anesthesiologist should be present during the care (dental), but why specifically is laughing gas more hard on her system?
Avatar f tn Hey jude! Wish I could tell you what they are, but I can't. If they are throbbing and painful, I wouldn't waste any time getting to the dentist. Oral/dental infections can be quite dangerous if let go too long. Let us know what they are, OK? I'm very curious.
