Avatar m tn Nothing seems to help to get rid of the chronic coughing and geographic tongue for good. Fluconazole and umifenovir do work while I take it, but after the course I start coughing again and the geographic tongue comes back. I think the latter is connected to the cause for the chronic coughing, since I noticed my tongue clears within a few days after the coughing stops. Besides having white/red patches, my tongue also sometimes hurts and there were ulcers under my tongue and in my throat.

Avatar m tn On the 17/Jul/08 I had my very first –supposed- penile yeast infection, saw a GP, he looked at it and prescribed one tablet of fluconazole 150 and Lotrisone cream for 14 days, it cleared it well.. On the 11/Sep/09 I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin for another infection, during which I developed what seemed like slight thrush on the middle of my tongue (still have it, didn’t get any worst).

Avatar m tn I am then given a weeks course of Ciprofloxacin, which makes little difference. I am also given a Fluconazole tablet for Thrush (just in case.) At this time I also notice a reddish / irritated area around my urethra on the glans, some of the skin is shiny / wrinkly darker/ sometimes red patch. Doctor considers this irritation (But its been there now for 5 weeks.) It resembles 'some' if the milder symptomatic images I've seen of psoriasis of the glans.
Avatar f tn They come back negative for bacteria and fungi. I get prescribed Fluconazole for a week, just in case it is a fungus. I have a tympanography, which comes back normal. The right ear, the only one infected, also experienced a hearing loss. 4) July: I get a CT scan of my sinuses, and I'm scheduled for a surgery for my nose and sinuses. However I am told none of the symptoms in my ear come from sinuses and that my ears seem okay on the scan.
Avatar f tn I don't know if I have Trich or not but I was wondering if taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2x daily would cure it?
Avatar f tn Hello and hope you are doing well. There are no known interactions between fluconazole and propranolol, so you can safely take them together. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn Fluconazole is an antifungal and one pill stays in the blood stream for 3 days. It is normal to take a 'loading dose' the first time which helps get a jump start on the infection. I would take it as the doctor directed. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.
Avatar m tn I read online that the combination of Ciprofloxacin and Azithromycin can be dangerous. Is this still the case, if the last Ciprodose was one week before the 2g Azithromycin dose?
Avatar f tn After released from the hospital (overnight stay) I was prescribed Ciprofloxacin 500mg, Metronidazole 500mg and Tapentadol 50mg for pain. I completed both antibiotics on schedule and only took the Tapentadol for 3 or 4 days (pain was subsiding). On May 4 or 5 I called my surgeon about pain increasing, abdominal discomfort, bloated, not feeling well, no appetite. I was told this is normal.
Avatar n tn It is not killing probiotic cultures in your bowels. And 6 weeks is not really longterm, especially since fluconazole is not an antibiotic, but an antifungal. Candida is a mean one, and hard to get rid of. But Candida hates a balanced diet with lots of beans, veggies, wholemeal, yoghurt and fruits. Reduce your meat and sugar intake to aid the meds to kill it off. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Ciprofloxacin has been linked to rare but occasionally severe and even fatal cases of acute liver injury..... i m not a doctor but this is not assuring, our doctor always used agumentin, check with your doctor if that is suitable for your problem.
Avatar m tn I developed thrush while on antibiotics and was given Fluconazole. I suffer from OCD and panic disorder. On a recommendation form my doc, I went to a Phycharist who placed me on Lexapro and Adivan. Soon after taking the Lexapro I began noticing little pains under my arms, under my chin and in my elbow creases. They seem to come and go. I didn't feel any real swelling though. I thought about ARS and lymph nodes and my anxiety has gone through the roof.
Avatar f tn I have two samples taken from my ear on two different occasions. They come back negative for bacteria and fungi. I get prescribed Fluconazole for a week, just in case it is a fungus. I have a tympanography, which comes back normal. The right ear, the only one infected, also experienced a hearing loss. At this point my lymph nodes also get swollen (after an ultrasound the doctors tell me they come from the infections, and they're not cancerogenous).
Avatar n tn Well with the discharge gone and not returning as of yet (knock on wood) it does mean it is getting better.
Avatar f tn Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
Avatar m tn I have had rashes and dark skin on and around scrotum and inner thigh for last 5-6 years. In the beginning rashes and small cuts used to appear between inner thighs and they would heal themselves but they left dark and loose skin when they disappeared. But for last 2-3 months these rashes and cuts started appearing again in ferocious way and these have extended on testicle skins too. When they appear it itches too much results in small cuts with small blood. i m very depressed.
Avatar m tn oh and the doctor gave me medicine for thrush anyway (two 100 mg fluconazole pills one to take that day and one for 2 days later) and it didnt go away so it must not be thrush
