ciprofloxacin and early pregnancy

I don't know if I have Trich or not but I was wondering if taking Ciprofloxacin 500mg 2x daily would cure it?

I read online that the combination of Ciprofloxacin and Azithromycin can be dangerous. Is this still the case, if the last Ciprodose was one week before the 2g Azithromycin dose?

Ciprofloxacin has been linked to rare but occasionally severe and even fatal cases of acute liver injury..... i m not a doctor but this is not assuring, our doctor always used agumentin, check with your doctor if that is suitable for your problem.

Well with the discharge gone and not returning as of yet (knock on wood) it does mean it is getting better.

I was prescribed ciprofloxacin for a UTI today, and am a little nervous about taking it because it says "It did not cause birth defects but it did appear to increase the risk for miscarriages when given to pregnant rabbits." what?!?! My Ob suggested it, and the pharmacist said it doesn't sound like it will be an issue and if the OB suggested it, then it's probably fine.. Ughh I hate taking medicine. Did anyone else use oral antibiotics during early pregnancy and turn out okay?!

So I have been ttc, used clear blue ovulation tests got my smiley faces had sex on them days and other days then found out I had a bacterial infection and have been taking ciprofloxacin for the infection will this affect my chances??

the test came back positive and the doc (gastr doc)told me to take ciprofloxacin 500 twice daily for 10 days. i told him that im not sure i want to take this as i know its hard on the liver, he said i can take it as he asked back my hepatologist (they both work in the same hospital/transplant center).

No pain during urination and no discharge. I got tested for chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV RNA at day 5 and day 13 after possible exposure and both came back negative. My symptoms started happening 5 days after my last sexual encounter. It has been 3 weeks with this pain now. Hi everyone. Been a while since I've posted on this forum. I am happy to announce I got my BFP this past week. I am about 4wks 3days. Soo excited but trying to keep myself in check as this is my first time being pregnant and I have no idea what is in store for me. I am a little worried b/c I am having some cramping today. I haven't had much if any of it since I found out I was pregnant. It's generally mild cramping with a few spikes to a moderate level of discomfort but only briefly.

I would tend to agree with alaysha in that most early pregnancy losses are due to chromosomal defects. I would just call and request blood work. My primary physician suggests a whole panel, including TSH, T free and T4 (whatever that all means...lol). Good luck!!

In addition to what Pamela said, I would also talk to a pharmacist. They just seem to be so much more knowledgable about drugs and what is safe during pregnancy then Dr.s. Keep in mind it's very early in your pregnancy, so all may very well be just fine. Many women at this stage don't even know they are pregnant and od all kinds of crazy things to their bodies.
