The CT scan showed an inflamed kidney. The doctor now believes a kidney infection and has prescribed cipro and Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain. After 5 days, the pain (while not constant) has not diminished. He often has the chills and a fever that runs 2-3 degrees above normal. One other (possibly not related) issue is that his pain is usually most significant early morning (possibly due to 8 hours of sleep with no tylenol/ibuprofen).
tested for UTI at docs came back clear. also prostate ok. Given 1 week course of cipro to no effect. Wk 9: tested at GUM clinic. Wk 11:1 month course of cipro. Around this time a couple of molluscum appeared on shaft of penis Wk16: genital problem cleared up shortly after completion of cipro course but occasional perineum tingling continues to this day.
0 or over for the past two years, causing no problems until now, I am getting gout. I have been on Allopurinol and had two rounds of steroids and within three days of being off the steroids my gout returns. I don't drink, or eat a much meat and have increased my vitamin C to 1500 mg a day, is there anything else I can do?
I having been having problems with pain in my foot, its really bad and when it happens I can't walk. it really seems like gout but I am a vegetarian, I have been avoiding legumes and other foods known to cause gout, I do not drink beer, could there be other causes or could it be a different condition? ) Asparagus has been on the list for ages, as has shellfish, small oily fish such as sardines and anchovy, organ meat, turkey and red meat. Alcohol is also a no-no. According to the gout website, only 5% of all gout sufferers are women. The test to determine which type you have is to aspirate the fluid from the affected joint during an outbreak. You may not feel this is necessary since the medication is the same for both but the diets are different.

I have reoccurance of Gout every time I eat liver, liverwurst, cabage or spinach. I personally do not know about other drugs.
Woke up with bad case of gout. I have not been taking my Allopurinol. If I start it back up today do you think it will help with the gout pain and inflammation? I am taking Ibuprophen and soaking in epsom salts/hot water.
I was recently diagnosed with gout and although I do have pain in my big toe (mainly left, but also some in right), I'm having more trouble with my fingers - they are where the pain is worst and where I've got some tophi. How common/uncommon is it to have gout more in the fingers than the toe? I know it can affect other joints other than teh big toe, but just not sure how common it is and if it makes it any more difficutl to treat?
Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face.
I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness?

I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives.
From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.
