Avatar m tn Hey Doc, I had unprotected oral sex with a guy about two weeks ago. A week after, I started feeling a mild discomfort far in the back of my throat. I started freaking out. Upon inspection, I realized my tonsil was covered in red/brown puss. When I urinate/ejaculate, I feel this tingling sensation. My went to my doc's last week, and they took a blood and urine sample (they didn't have any oral swabs and needed to order if I wanted to get a sample taken).
Avatar n tn By the time I went to the clinic my symptoms were getting better and while I filled the Rx for Cipro I never had to use it. On my way to Bariloche Argentina I got sick again and the doctor wanted me to just take Imodium, since I was only in Bariloche for the day to renew my tourist card for Chile there wasn’t time to do the lab work and get the results back so she gave me the Rx for Cipro – I couldn’t imagine the 6.
Avatar m tn Im traveling in mexico and got pretty sick (my best guess is it was 'Travelers Diarrhea' or maybe food poisioning) I went to the pharmacy and got 500mg Cipro pills. I took one and got a horrible headache and vomitted alot. My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Avatar f tn Also, I am being treated with Cipro, which I just took a round of that for a UT about 2.5 months ago. Should I be repeating the same antibotic so soon, and will it be as effective if I do.
Avatar n tn I took 1 dose of 500mg Cipro Friday night at 5:30p.m. Immediately felt flushed and red in the face. I continue to have flare ups 3 days later. How long does this take to go away.
Avatar n tn Do cipro cause vaginal discharge and oder and disconfort in my stomach and back and sluggishness? This discussion is related to Discomfort after taking Cipro.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have problems with UTI and kidney infections on a regular basis. I have been on Cipro on and off since 1994. Cipro has allways worked very well for me. I have not experienced side effects from this drug. I have had other antibiotics prescribed to me that did have some negative side effects. In my case Sulfa drugs causes hives. From 1994 up to 2003, I used to come down with UTI and kidney infections that required hospitalizations with a frequency of about every 3 to 4 months.
Avatar m tn Yes Cipro can definately cause rythm issues. I cant remember where I read this but my doctor was going to give it to me until I showed him the info (that he did not have himself). So yes---In fact--since you brought it up--I have a new group called side effects of medications. Feel free to post your side effects there.
Avatar n tn is it safe to take 125 mg of cipro each day for 6 months I was prescribed this for a UTI that keeps coming back. Also the pharmacy that filled the prescription gave me 250mg tablets and told me they aren't made in 125mg. and for me to break in half . But the info that comes with the meds says not to break.crush, or chew.

Avatar m tn ve taken cipro from 7-14 days and even IV cipro for an infection. can you get a terrible lung infection and worsening of asthma?
Avatar m tn 3 weeks ago I was prescribed Ciproflaxcin for a prostatsis, I took the Cipro for about a week and a half when I about 5 days into the prescription I began to experience major burning pain in my muscles, joints, and neck. After day 9 the pain was unbearable so I stopped and three days later went to the ER for treatment, I told them I had a bad reaction to the Cipro so they changed my prescription to Bactrim which almost immediately dropped my pain level from a level of 8 to a 2 on a 1-10 scale.
Avatar n tn If someone has a history of UTI's and has no health insurance, why won't a doctor give a patient a refill? Why do I have to pay anywhere between $100 - $200 to go to the bathroom in a cup to confirm what I already know is true because I have had UTI's many times before. At a desperate attempt, I brought all the empty bottles of cipro and other drugs prescribed for my past UTI's to show that this wasn't something I was making up. I hoped the Dr.
Avatar n tn For two days i took some Keflex twice a day that I had left over. It wasnt helping , I found a bottle of cipro I had left over and I took one. Thats it. A few days ago my boyfriend starts having symptoms of chlamydia or gonnerea ureathra hurting, discharge etc. I have no symptoms. We have only slept together once in the last couple weeks. Anyways, I went and got tested and I have bacterial vaginosis. I have not been with anybody but him.
Avatar f tn I was given Cipro for possible salmonella, and am concerned about all of the side effects I have been reading about. Is this a safe drug? I woke up with anxiety and some stiffness this morning, and am scared it's going to get worse. Please help.
Avatar m tn But now that it has been a year dealing with this I feel like I need to have that done to examine the fluid to determine if any bacteria are present, possibly a strain that is resistant to the cipro? I would have loved to stay on the levaquin but the cost was outrageous. The only real antibiotic that ever seemed to work was the bactrim and I cant find the difference between that and the cipro as far as what they treat?
Avatar n tn t go to visit a Chinese doc because I will need to include a co-worker for translation. However, I do suffer from diverticulitis occasionally and I travel with prescriptions of Cipro 500mg and Flagyl. I started taking both 2 days ago. Not sure if there is any improvement, but I think so. OK, so I am stupid obviously, but I have researched some and know that a one time 500mg dose of Cipro was a treatment option for gonorrhea up until about 5 years ago, and now it has become resistant.
Avatar m tn He put me on Cipro for 1 week. After the Cipro was finished, the burning in the urethra had stop but a slight pain in my prostate was still there at nights for a while. About a week ago (3weeks after i finished the cipro) i realize that the pain in my prostate felt as if it was gone but now i feel the burning in my urethra and penis returning again as it did before. I am convince that I must have contracted some sort of virus or bacterial infection or STD from my sexual encounter.
Avatar f tn These drugs are awful. i had been given Cipro. I did find that taking 3 mg of boron a day (purchased at a health food store) inactivates the fluoride and got rid of the joint pain and burning in about a week. However to this day 4 years later the tightness in my leg remains. I worked with a trainer and my muscles are fine now. These drugs should be avoided at all cost!
Avatar n tn Yes. The arm pain can be due to the Levaquin. It is a very punishing antibiotic. The symptoms usually, but do not always disappear. Mine lasted for nine months. And I foolishly requested the Levaquin myself! I am reminded of the Space Odysessy script where Hal the computer says: "I seem to be making a fee bad decisions lately". Curiously many people take Cipro without problems (a drug of the same class) but have no tolerance for Levaquin.
Avatar m tn I want to become a mother again. I have a 19 y/o. I am a newly wed. My husband has no children we are considering IVF but it is so costly. Not sure if I am able d/t high FSH. didn't get result for AMH as of yet. But if its not possible for me to have one biologically we are considering using DE. My question. Is it cheaper using a family or friend as a donor in comparison using an anonymous donor. Where I am living, it cost $16,500 for DE...IVF cost almost $20,000.
Avatar f tn Oh my goodness! That is so expensive. Here in new zealand all medical care is absolutely free. It seems unethical to charge someone to give birth!
Avatar f tn Can anyone give me a ballpark of the cost for the suppressant drugs after a transplant. Just want to get an idea, know no one can give me exacts but any info would help. Thanks.
