Avatar f tn Hi guys I'm new so please bear with me... I have been in 5mg of cipralex for about 7 months and have decided to come of it as I was feeling pretty good... I was off it 4 8 days (until today when my dr advised me to take a day off a day) after about 4days off it I started feeling very lightheaded / dizzy... Although before going on this med the dr told me they were not addictive... How do I get off these!!
Avatar f tn Hi all I'm on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica
Avatar f tn /Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) ( Am slowly weaning from Cipralex/Escitalopram as I gained weight on it and other side effects) Am down to 5 mg of Cipralex at nite along with 50 mg SEROQUELXR for sleep (have been taking the SeroquelXR 50mg for approx. 6 months now as when I'd initially weaned from the Cipralex I was experiencing some sleeplessness etc.) For approx. 3 months now, I have had a tic occurring with my lower right eye lid; quite frequently and noticeably.
Avatar n tn Despite being very happy with the medication overall, I continue to suffer from drowsiness and the need to sleep more - up to 12 hours a day compared to my normal 7 hours a day before I used to take cipralex. I am sure this is directly due to cipralex even though the side effect is not listed as a common side effect of taking cipralex.
Avatar f tn Both my mum and I are on Cipralex. We found that if we weren't exact in our time to take them we would get this weird feeling in our head accompanied by goosebumps running down our neck on occasion. If either of us miss a dose we end up having that feeling numerous times in a day.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your reply. I am on day 8 now of 10mg cipralex. I am definately feeling better compared to a week ago! I find the mornings are the hardest. Feel a little "whoozy" and foggy headed in morning. I do have quite a bit of nausea throughout the day but hopefully this will subside once I adjust to the meds.
Avatar n tn Am I likely to develop any type of withdrawal symptoms after such a short period of time on the medication? I experienced withdrawal symptoms when weaning off Paxil three years ago.
Avatar f tn Namaste, Cipralex is mainly used for treating depression. SSRIs work by preventing serotonin from being reabsorbed back into the nerve cells in the brain. This helps prolong the mood lightening effect of any released serotonin. In this way, Cipralex helps relieve depression, panic and fear. In clinical trials, cipralex has been found to be an effective SSRI in the treatment of depression and also in relieving some of the symptoms of fear and panic.
Avatar f tn It has been so much worse than cipralex. I can barely keep my eyes open even after 15 hours of sleep, and I consistently feel just awful. I am only on 20mg (the starting dose) and would like to switch back to cipralex. Should I do it cold turkey over night? Or should I do a gradual decrease of the Paxil while increasing the Cipralex? Thanks!!
Avatar n tn Studies show that 50% of people that take them do not actually need them to function day to day. This kind of over prescribing to individuals that do not actually need AD medication is what results in many of the horror stories you hear. The reality is that any Antidepressant medication can have disasterous results for anyone that takes them and doesn't actually need them.
Avatar f tn I feel aweful - very dizzy, confused, heavyness over eyes, bad eyesight, sensitive hearing. Actually many of these symptoms I had before starting Cipralex - my doctor thought Cipralex would help. I also have a history of complicated migraine, I have not taken Sibelium since December 2008. I am wondering if maybe the symptoms I am experiencing are migraine related - and therefore Cipralex is not the answer. Should I be restarted on Sibelium?
Avatar m tn I felt terrible due to cipralex and told the doctor who replaced cipralex ( after four days of me using it ) with lexotanil. And endoscopy result was stomach: mild to moderate erythema of fundus and atrum, bile reflux seen. Others were normal, conclusion: mild to moderate pan gastritis, bile reflux seen. Everything got better for four days after which I shifted to another country.

Avatar f tn Yea I'm on 5mg of cipralex... I'm not sure i know most of my anxiety is health related. It only started to get bad around may I'm a 22 yo female.
Avatar n tn Hello! I started taking Cipralex (Escitalopram) a week ago. Only 5mg a day - it was prescribed for panic attacks. I have noticed that my resting heart beat dropped to mid 50. I don't feel bad or dizzy though. Should I be worried? p.s. Forgot to mention that around a month ago I quit smoking. Male, 45 y.o.
Avatar f tn The cipralex was good, but I didnt really have much of an appetite on it and always felt very dull on it (sort of like I was dumb to things people said or did), I was on it about 3-4years and it worked well, but then I think it stopped working. The citalopram did nothing for me though. Well i really hope this mirtazapine works well, as I feel like im going through hell for it.
581516 tn?1326073019 What dosage are you going to try with Trazedone? Traz works wonders for me. I'm currently on Cymbalta but was having some sleeping problems. I tried zopiclone (my god that stuff was nasty) but never felt rested. My doctor prescribed me 50mgs of trazodone to treat the symptoms of depression... key word there... symptoms. 50mgs is a LOW dose. I take it at night. I don't even recall the last time I've slept so well. I'm completely off any benzos because of trazodone.
Avatar f tn My went to visit my doctor about my anxiety and sleeping issues and he has put me on Cipralex 10mg dosage a day and also prescribed me 50mg of trazodone to be taken at bedtime to help me sleep. Does anyone take these prescriptions? if so could I please get some feedback on them?
Avatar n tn You should speak to your doctor about the risks / benefits of stopping the cipralex. He/she may recommend adding a small dose of Wellbutrin to see if that will help with the decreased libido or try switching you to another SSRI to see if that helps.
Avatar n tn Hey guyz I have been taking cipralex (known in the U.S as lexapro) I've been taking it as the doctor told me excatly. First 4 days I only took 1/2 tablet of 10 mg which is 5 mg and I didn't feel any side effects expect the first day I experienced mild side effects. But then then on day 5 I took the whole tablet 10 mg and have been taking that for almost a week now .. tomorrow will be a week excatly on the 10 mg.
Avatar m tn I am 47 and have severe health anxiety since last 15 years and was diagnosed mitral valve prolapse with trivial regurgitation before 6 years. All this year my fear was related to heart disease, attack, stroke arrhythmia, nuero problems etc. but one week before urine came from my blood and got scared and went to urologist and did ultrasound for kidney, prostate, uterus etc and there was no stone & infection. The Dr. gave me antiobiotic & told to complete the course.
