ciprodex

Avatar f tn Is there anybody who experienced an increased appetite when stop using Cipralex? I was on 20 mg for almost 2 years and is tapering it now down over the last 4 months. At the moment on 5 mg and now experience this appetite, want to eat something extra. It is not out of hand but if I don't manage to get this in control it will get out of hand. I want to know if this is common?
Avatar m tn I have been on cipralex for about 3 years now and have been symptom free and side effect free. I made the decision to begin slowly weaning. I dropped from 20mg to 15mg about 3 weeks ago. My questions is: Has anyone else experienced insomnia as a withdrawl side effect? I haven't been able to sleep for the past 4 nights and I'm not sure if it could be due to this decrease. Aside from the lack of sleep, I feel great! Any information/suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn re absorbing it quite well, the harder it is to stop. What you need is to set up a tapering schedule to stop the med as slowly as suits you, not some generalized schedule your psychiatrist uses for everyone -- and they virtually all do use the same taper for everyone unless you express a desire to do it differently or have had bad problems quitting in the past. So what anyone tells you on here will be interesting but won't have much application to how you're going to feel.

Avatar f tn Thanks Paxiled for your reply Do you think I should look for the physiological reason behind anxiety attacks or just deal with it as a disorder by itself? Never been anxious in my life (am 41 now) except in May 2008 when I had to deal with my mother's cancer. That time my doctor prescribed cipralex for situational depression which i took for 2 years and a half, then I stopped it by tapering off for around 5 months.
Avatar m tn s (Cipralex 20mg) in the past but weened myself off when I felt better. Anyways back to now, 3 weeks ago I passed out drunk and had a panic attack. I felt fine for the first couple days after it but after I broke down one night due to the stress from school (freshman in college) and started feeling anxious, over a 2 week period it kind of all built up, my original fear of schizophrenia came back and I have spent countless numbers of hours on the internet reading about the illness.
Avatar f tn What would be your suggestion for how to switch from the Paxil to cipralex? I know that 20mg Paxil equals about 10mg cipralex. What rate would you decrease + increase? Perhaps you could give me a rough outline of how to make the transition? Thanks so much!
1001742 tn?1252685847 Cipralex is an anti-anxiety pill. Escitalopram belongs to the group of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It works by increasing levels of a neurotransmitter called serotonin in the brain. Increased serotonin levels can lead to an improved mood.

Avatar f tn Hi all I'm on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica
Avatar n tn I don't know how you were told to take the cipralex, but it is at least probably best to take it in the morning. It's not one you're supposed to get tired of. You might want to read the leaflet of it too. That's always a good idea. I agree on the thyroid test suggested above. That's one of the first things that should be checked, even if not all depression has to be genetic or "run in the family". Have you read here in MedHelp about Depression?

Avatar f tn I feel aweful - very dizzy, confused, heavyness over eyes, bad eyesight, sensitive hearing. Actually many of these symptoms I had before starting Cipralex - my doctor thought Cipralex would help. I also have a history of complicated migraine, I have not taken Sibelium since December 2008. I am wondering if maybe the symptoms I am experiencing are migraine related - and therefore Cipralex is not the answer. Should I be restarted on Sibelium?

Avatar f tn Hi I'm currently taking cipralex (antidepressants) for anxiety and panic attacks. Currently I have been feeling a strange electric shock type feeling going through my body. This is usually accompained by pulsing of muscles. I don't think this could be caused by anxiety as lately I have been less anxious. I am worried that have some rare disease I would be really grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance :).
Avatar f tn I've been on 10mf of cipralex for about 1.5 years now to help with anxiety. im trying to ween off now and have dropped from 10mg to 5mg for the last 6 days. I think I'm doing ok but am getting brain zaps and jitters. It kind of freaks me out a bit and then I worry that my anxiety is coming back (although I'm pretty sure it's just the side effects of reduced dose). Has anyone out there had successful tapering off? How long did your symptoms last?
Avatar m tn I really got scared that it might give me an Std or something as my penis got really irritating and leaked thru out the day I was given ciproxen and it went away . Then I was referred to a gastro specialist who gave me Lozal, cipralex 10mg, colofac, and to continue ciproxin for 3 days and after four days I had my endoscopy. I felt terrible due to cipralex and told the doctor who replaced cipralex ( after four days of me using it ) with lexotanil.
Avatar m tn He told me to consult with the psychristic. I consulted with the psychristic. He advised me to take cipralex for one and half month. After taking the cipralex too i feels the same sympton. For that i once again consulted with the other neurophysician in bangalore. He advised me for doing the MRI Scan.
