553096 tn?1267348927 My doctor has recommended Cipralex (escitalopram) to combat side-effects. I am retreating and at Week 10 of 48 (Genotype 1). I do not have prior experience with this medicine. Has anyone had experience taking this medication. Was there improvement in taking this medication and any side-effects experienced. I look forward to hearing your experiences. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I am currently starting my second week on Cipralex (Lexapro) and still having side effects of nervousness and jitteryness particularly in the morning when I wake up.. I take it in the morning and am at 10 mg after dosing up slowly from 5 mg to 7.5 and now to 10. My doc says if the side effects do not improve over the next week or so she is suggesting that we try something else like Paxil. I've read in a few places that Paxil has less side effects than some of the other SSRI's.
Avatar f tn What would be your suggestion for how to switch from the Paxil to cipralex? I know that 20mg Paxil equals about 10mg cipralex. What rate would you decrease + increase? Perhaps you could give me a rough outline of how to make the transition? Thanks so much!
1001742 tn?1252685847 Cipralex is an anti-anxiety pill. Escitalopram belongs to the group of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). It works by increasing levels of a neurotransmitter called serotonin in the brain. Increased serotonin levels can lead to an improved mood.
Avatar n tn Well on day 4 of 5 mg and managing... the nervousness/increased edgeyness is definitely back (remember it from last time) and it has increased each day since I started... when your body begins to adjust do you tend to notice a gradual decrease in these symptoms or just wake up one day and they are not there anymore?

Avatar f tn Hi all I'm on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica
Avatar n tn I don't know how you were told to take the cipralex, but it is at least probably best to take it in the morning. It's not one you're supposed to get tired of. You might want to read the leaflet of it too. That's always a good idea. I agree on the thyroid test suggested above. That's one of the first things that should be checked, even if not all depression has to be genetic or "run in the family". Have you read here in MedHelp about Depression?

Avatar f tn I feel aweful - very dizzy, confused, heavyness over eyes, bad eyesight, sensitive hearing. Actually many of these symptoms I had before starting Cipralex - my doctor thought Cipralex would help. I also have a history of complicated migraine, I have not taken Sibelium since December 2008. I am wondering if maybe the symptoms I am experiencing are migraine related - and therefore Cipralex is not the answer. Should I be restarted on Sibelium?

Avatar f tn What can I do about nervousness. I have seen several Dr's. They say things like "Why Do you want to be nervous"? Who wants to be nervous? I need to know if there is a drug that I can take that will help. It seems that I have been nervous in my head all of my life.
