Avatar f tn Hello everyone, I have had anxiety for a while now and for about 2 months it has taken over my sleeping, My nightmares seem so real that I wake up crying, heart pounding, shaking, and cant get back to sleep. I am only getting 1-2 hours of sleep a night and its broken sleep at that, during the day it seems like my anxiety is getting worse and worse from not sleeping.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm currently taking 10mg of cipralex for anxiety and panic attacks. I have been taking the cipralex for 3 months. Lately I have been experiencing head spinning before I go to sleep. When I am asleep I am woken up by dizziness when turning. Also just upon waking I seem to get these strange impulses through my body which make the dizziness really bad. The dizziness usually goes away once I am awake and walking about.
Avatar f tn m on day 4 taking cipralex after switching from escitalopram my question to you all is my anxiety is getting worse by the day and having to take a zopiclone to sleep at night will my anxiety slowly fade in time as I take the cipralex daily no other side effects to report just the heightened anxiety any info on this would be great Thanks Jessica
Avatar m tn My qusetion is I also suffer from sleep disorder I sleep 4-5 hours a night and cant sleep anymore I lied down around midnight to fall asleep around 2 am. or later. I really don't know what to think or do with the depression is there anyone who has taken this as well and can say you were able to get a job again, be around family and friends?
Avatar f tn It has been so much worse than cipralex. I can barely keep my eyes open even after 15 hours of sleep, and I consistently feel just awful. I am only on 20mg (the starting dose) and would like to switch back to cipralex. Should I do it cold turkey over night? Or should I do a gradual decrease of the Paxil while increasing the Cipralex? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn Dear Doctor, Am currently taking 20 mg Prozac in the morning (to replace the Cipralex I've been on for at least 5 years) for depression and anxiety (P.T.S.D. & O.C.D./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) ( Am slowly weaning from Cipralex/Escitalopram as I gained weight on it and other side effects) Am down to 5 mg of Cipralex at nite along with 50 mg SEROQUELXR for sleep (have been taking the SeroquelXR 50mg for approx.
Avatar m tn I have been on cipralex for about 3 years now and have been symptom free and side effect free. I made the decision to begin slowly weaning. I dropped from 20mg to 15mg about 3 weeks ago. My questions is: Has anyone else experienced insomnia as a withdrawl side effect? I haven't been able to sleep for the past 4 nights and I'm not sure if it could be due to this decrease. Aside from the lack of sleep, I feel great! Any information/suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn 25 if i felt very bad ,,, since 1 year and 3 month am taking the cipralex and some times xanax ,., i feel so much better and almost everything gone but sometimes when i didnt sleep well i feel short in breathing , then if i sleep little bet more everything will be fine . till when am gonna stay taking this pills and is this gonna stay with me for ever ?
Avatar n tn I am coming off cipralex and I am soooo itchy especially my hands and neck. Has anyone had this withdrawal symptom? If so what can be done about it. Hand cream doesnt help.
Avatar f tn I was on Cipralex for a year since losing dad and losing my job. had bad anxiety and insomnia.
Avatar n tn I take both those meds and avoid all cold medicines and over the counter medications because they can interact with the cipralex and serequel. I always call my pharmacist and ask which medications could counteract with my anti depressants.
Avatar m tn Just to say, insomnia is a very common long-term withdrawal problem when you stop antidepressants. When did that start? How well did you tolerate stopping the paroxetine? Why did you stop taking it? Did it stop working? Did you taper off slowly before starting the cipralex? I'm asking to see if we can trace what's happening and when it started so you know what's causing what.
1267205 tn?1321117128 anxiety is a common denominator for all psych disorders. it's not specific to BP alone. Taking cipralex will do you good for a while but then it will drive you manic eventually. you said cipralex, is it the only drug you take or along with other meds ? because if you take mood stabilizers along with then perhaps it's safe. but i never heard someone with BP is prescribed an antidepressant only. cipralex is rather strong it's an SSRI.
Avatar m tn He told me to consult with the psychristic. I consulted with the psychristic. He advised me to take cipralex for one and half month. After taking the cipralex too i feels the same sympton. For that i once again consulted with the other neurophysician in bangalore. He advised me for doing the MRI Scan. The result of the MRI saying "Mild ectopia of cerebellar tonsils. The tips of the tonsil is 5mm below the formen magnum. No mass effect is seen on the Brain stem.
Avatar m tn Then I was referred to a gastro specialist who gave me Lozal, cipralex 10mg, colofac, and to continue ciproxin for 3 days and after four days I had my endoscopy. I felt terrible due to cipralex and told the doctor who replaced cipralex ( after four days of me using it ) with lexotanil. And endoscopy result was stomach: mild to moderate erythema of fundus and atrum, bile reflux seen. Others were normal, conclusion: mild to moderate pan gastritis, bile reflux seen.
574118 tn?1305135284 Yes some anti-depressents can cause sedation. The site "Depression Central" could explain better. Anyway, there are two different issues. If a person has untreated depression they may feel depressed and lose interest in life and want to sleep all day. That's common. If an anti-depressent helps to relieve the symptoms of depression but a person feels tired afterwards then that's sedation from medication, a very common side effect of many medications. I remember Stelazine.
574118 tn?1305135284 So do you think panic and fear can be an extra side effect of cipralex and i should increase the above doze of xanax.
Avatar n tn i have been on alot of different meds and only a few didnt give me side affects! i was taking lyrica and cipralex, and also had been on fluoxetine, these are only 1s that agreed with me, i have an eptopic heart beat so alot of meds give me very fast heart palpatations.
Avatar m tn I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.
Avatar n tn I would give it some time. and don't keep checking your heart rate. Cipralex and this class of drugs are long acting and not something that would just drop your heart rate. But as your stress and anxiety decrease, your heart rate in the resting mode may go back to normal. A resting heart rate of 50 is in the normal range. You are on a low dose. Hope it helps your anxiety/panic. I have found that often anxiety takes a bit higher dose to really work well.
Avatar n tn After reading horror stories of paxil, I decided not to take it so he gave me cipralex (Lexapro) 10 mg and said its safe and helpful and its side effects and withdrawal are much less than paxil. I am still afraid to start the medication to tell you the truth. But 1 thing for sure Thank God I dont get the panic attacks anymore, and I do not feel depressed or down that much either, and my social anxiety is very minimal and it does not interfer with my daily life at all (i.
328799 tn?1276565732 difficulty sleeping, nausea and vomiting, anxiety, and decreased apetite! This could very well be causeing or at least influencing your symptoms. You should see your doctor about it. It could be the cipralex, or it could be your anxiety and fear, or they could very well be playing off of each other like you say. I know that with me, if I am experiencing a sympom, it will get worse if I worry about it, then the symptom gets worse and I worry more.. a vicious cycle!
Avatar n tn When I stopped, I was fine for six months but my depression suddenly started again. I restarted taking cipralex 10 mg one each night and I improved quickly. Now it is four years that I am taking it. I now want to stop it because I am having very decreased sixual drive. So my question is that, Will my sexual drive improve when I stop taking cipralex?
574118 tn?1305135284 4 weeks ago i started to go down a bit so i took lexapro/cipralex 5mg and i became happy for 10 days then i started to be anxious and moved around so i feared of becomic manic Upon asking the pdocs whether this was ADHD (usually comorbid with BP they said no, this is a usual side effect of BP) so i cut the cipralex and got back to the above combo. It was OK . Yesterday and today I have agressive behavior with depression.
Avatar f tn I was on celexa for 8.5 yrs.. Started on 20mgs n my dr raised it to 40mgs after 4 yrs cuz it just didn't seem to be working..
