I had the same problem with cipralex (aka lexapro), and the depression came back 6 months after stopping it because of the sexual side-effect. There are other antidepressants that have less of an effect on sex drive. I had no problems with sex drive when I was on Prozac, and Wellbutrin has no sexual side-effects or weight gain. You should speak to your doctor about the risks / benefits of stopping the cipralex.
I was on celexa for 8.5 yrs.. Started on 20mgs n my dr raised it to 40mgs after 4 yrs cuz it just didn't seem to be working.. After another 4.5 yrs it stopped working so she put me on cipralex... Been on cipralex for about almost 2 yrs now, and I don't find it worked as well as the celexa when it was working... I'm guessing it works different for everybody.. Do u still suffer panic n depression a lot??
I had anxiety and I was on Cipralex 20mg & Zyprexa 5mg I was doing fine. I got a viral infection for which I used leflox 500mg antibiotic 2 times a day. The viral infection got cured but I got anxiety. My doctor has gave me a plan to temper zyprexa as it was giving me brain fog and has added wellburtin SR 150mg. I am asking him to give me some benzodiazepines he does not gives as he says that Cipralex & Wellburtin are enough. He says that give wellburtin 3 weeks to work.
I guess I should also let u no that I suffer from severe anxiety/ severe depression disorder. Plz help and tell me your experiences with the medication and hoping to find someone that suffers the same as me, and takes the same meds lol.. I no it's a long shot..
There is no role of Cipralex, unless you are going through depression and anxiety which you can not manage on your own.

I started on 5 mg of Cipralex 2 months ago - then up to 10 mg and now I am on 15 mg (it has been 2 weeks). I feel aweful - very dizzy, confused, heavyness over eyes, bad eyesight, sensitive hearing. Actually many of these symptoms I had before starting Cipralex - my doctor thought Cipralex would help. I also have a history of complicated migraine, I have not taken Sibelium since December 2008.
It can cause SSRI withdrawal syndrome characterized by nausea, electric shock like feeling, sweating, insomnia, confusion, vertigo, tremor and nightmares. So, if you do not have these symptoms and are only feeling depressed, you are probably suffering from SSRI discontinuation syndrome. You may need to restart Cipralex or any other anti-depressant.
Just to say, insomnia is a very common long-term withdrawal problem when you stop antidepressants. When did that start? How well did you tolerate stopping the paroxetine? Why did you stop taking it? Did it stop working? Did you taper off slowly before starting the cipralex? I'm asking to see if we can trace what's happening and when it started so you know what's causing what.
I have heard nothing but bad reviews for this medication and i was just wondering if there is any cause for me to stop taking it?
I hope this is just the symptoms of depression and I will find my joys again with the treatment. I used to love to travel, now I just don't feel a thing! Has anybody had similar experience?

I went to ears and eyes doctor they told me ther is no problem,finaly i went to neurologe and psychatrie doctore he told me i have depression ,he gave me cipralex 5 mg first is not working with me he increased to 2o mg

Assuming that you have both clinical or major depressive disorder AND hypothyroidism, Which I have because I had post partum depression, and depression since I was younger, when I didn't particularly have any hypo symptoms, at that point is it ok to take them together?
I don't know the answer to this either and I have tried to research it. There seems to be a limited number of medications that affect the absorbtion of levothryoxine.
i still get some strange rashes on my skin and also continuous cough and flu( maybe summer in Kuwait is very bad and all time we are living in Aircondition and out side is 50 degrees of hear)
I wanted to ask if the HIV 1 & 2 + P 24 antigen test done from november till May this year is enough, as per my count i have done tests from the time of encounter that was in october 2010 till May 2011 all make total of 6 months , all came back negative, so is this 100% that i am not HIV.
I have been on Venlafaxin for 4 days now and decided to stop due to the horror stories iv heard. I don't suffer from depression but anxiety and feeling spacy all day. I am thinking of now taking Cipralax or if I should just tough it out and go all natural?
