950277 tn?1247274551 celexa generic citalopram and brand name cipram in the the eastern countries is produced by the same Danish company which produces cipralex/lexapro/escitalopram. In different forums one finds many pts using it. it's weaker than lexapro, exactly half its therapeutic dose in maximum and minimum. BP pts take wellbutrin, celexa, lexapro in the majority of the cases. A few take seroxat/paxil to go with lamictal.
Avatar f tn Hi yes I had been on Cipram (Citalopram) for many years before and it had worked. The only downside is whenever I quit it, panic and anxiety comes back again. I will be going to see my doctor this thursday and plan to ask him to switch the medication (back to cipram or cipralex - which apparently is a newer version of cipram). Would that be a good decision you think?
Avatar f tn I am BP1, but have hit clinical depression. I think they put me on a AD because of this and I'm pregnant and they don't want to put me on too high of a dose of Lamictal. Lamictal, I've been on it on and off for a couple yrs. It never really helped much with depression for me. So maybe all I needed all along was a AD. I've taken as high of a dose as 400mg of lamictal when not pregnant. It helps with the mania for short periods of time, but then I always have to up my dose.
1066610 tn?1255561474 fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine (Luvox), sertraline (Zoloft), citalopram (Celexa), escitalopram (Cipralex, Essertia) can help. Psychotherapy such as cognitive behavioural therapy could also do the trick. Or a mixture of both. Have you seen: http://www.trich.org/ ?
Avatar f tn I have been on citalopram for six days and xanax for a month for bad anxiety attacks and all day long anxiety. The mornings are so much worse. Yesterday I had a fairly good day. I felt there was some hope of getting back to myself. In the middle of the night I woke with anxiety attacks and haven't shaken them yet. I am cold, shakey, vomiting, hot through my chest and arms, I can't eat, I keep feeling like I need to pee, I am jittery...the list goes on.
Avatar f tn I was on Cipralex for a year since losing dad and losing my job. had bad anxiety and insomnia.
Avatar n tn I take both those meds and avoid all cold medicines and over the counter medications because they can interact with the cipralex and serequel. I always call my pharmacist and ask which medications could counteract with my anti depressants.
Avatar f tn I gained about 30 lbs on Citalopram. I work out and eat healthy. I just saw a new doctor and he believes the Citalopram is causing my weight gain. I have been on it for about 18 months. I am now taking half a pill of Citalopram in order to wean myself off of it. My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!
Avatar f tn Hi.. I am a 26 years old female and have been struggling with 'depression' for almost a year now. In the beginning I went to a psychiatrist who assessed me of having a borderline personality disorder and emotional instability. I took many pills during the treatment such as Dianxit and Cipralex which didn't work on me, then Afeksin, Faverin, Sedoxil and Nodiril. However, I was not getting better.
1267205 tn?1321117128 anxiety is a common denominator for all psych disorders. it's not specific to BP alone. Taking cipralex will do you good for a while but then it will drive you manic eventually. you said cipralex, is it the only drug you take or along with other meds ? because if you take mood stabilizers along with then perhaps it's safe. but i never heard someone with BP is prescribed an antidepressant only. cipralex is rather strong it's an SSRI.
Avatar m tn He told me to consult with the psychristic. I consulted with the psychristic. He advised me to take cipralex for one and half month. After taking the cipralex too i feels the same sympton. For that i once again consulted with the other neurophysician in bangalore. He advised me for doing the MRI Scan. The result of the MRI saying "Mild ectopia of cerebellar tonsils. The tips of the tonsil is 5mm below the formen magnum. No mass effect is seen on the Brain stem.
Avatar f tn My went to visit my doctor about my anxiety and sleeping issues and he has put me on Cipralex 10mg dosage a day and also prescribed me 50mg of trazodone to be taken at bedtime to help me sleep. Does anyone take these prescriptions? if so could I please get some feedback on them?
574118 tn?1305135284 So do you think panic and fear can be an extra side effect of cipralex and i should increase the above doze of xanax.
Avatar n tn legs, arms and joints pain;Uninterested in life and its activity) for several days after taking Cipralex (Escitalopram, 20 mg) on an empty stomach (while it is written on the leaflet that it is allowed and does not matter at all!!) and swallow herbs solution with it (rather than water)? 2. Is it a panic attack? and what is my diagnosis? and how to reverse the negative symptoms of doing so?
Avatar m tn I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.
Avatar n tn I would give it some time. and don't keep checking your heart rate. Cipralex and this class of drugs are long acting and not something that would just drop your heart rate. But as your stress and anxiety decrease, your heart rate in the resting mode may go back to normal. A resting heart rate of 50 is in the normal range. You are on a low dose. Hope it helps your anxiety/panic. I have found that often anxiety takes a bit higher dose to really work well.
948349 tn?1294380237 I have started taking the anti-depressant Cipralex and so far I have been feeling better with the only side effect of having trouble sleeping. But from what I read within 6 weeks new brain cells should already have grown really well. Anyone else use anti-depressants in their recovery and how are you feeling now?
Avatar f tn Jeeperoonies, do I ever identify with that. Just waiting for sleep.. and then in the morning I'd lay in the sack for anywhere from one to six hours, just dreading getting up and facing the day. Things that are supposed to make you happy (like your daughter getting married, with me it was a new grandchild) just didn't seem to have any meaning. I sure do sympathize with you. I'm not sure what fixed me up..
Avatar n tn When I stopped, I was fine for six months but my depression suddenly started again. I restarted taking cipralex 10 mg one each night and I improved quickly. Now it is four years that I am taking it. I now want to stop it because I am having very decreased sixual drive. So my question is that, Will my sexual drive improve when I stop taking cipralex?
Avatar f tn I was on cipralex (lexapro in the US) for almost 3 years and initially experienced some dry mouth, but no extreme side effects at all. It worked amazingly for me. I started on 10mg and then doubled to 20mg after 1 year. I recently switched to Paxil about 1 month ago, and have really disliked the way it makes me feel. My anxiety has been much worse and the side effects are just awful. It has been so much worse than cipralex.
Avatar n tn Combining Alprax and Citalopram can cause central nervous system and respiratory depressant effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. Please discuss with your doctor for alternate medications. In the meantime, I would strongly caution you not to drive or operate heavy machinery while on these medications as you might injure yourself or others. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I was on celexa for 8.5 yrs.. Started on 20mgs n my dr raised it to 40mgs after 4 yrs cuz it just didn't seem to be working.. After another 4.5 yrs it stopped working so she put me on cipralex... Been on cipralex for about almost 2 yrs now, and I don't find it worked as well as the celexa when it was working... I'm guessing it works different for everybody.. Do u still suffer panic n depression a lot??
