cipralex and celexa

First of all may I ask why you switched from celexa to cipralex? I know I have asked my Dr about abilify and she will not prescribe it for me, not sure why but she does say there are better drugs out there... I know every Doc is different as is every person. Sorry, I know this does not answer your question..

I was on celexa for 8.5 yrs.. Started on 20mgs n my dr raised it to 40mgs after 4 yrs cuz it just didn't seem to be working.. After another 4.5 yrs it stopped working so she put me on cipralex... Been on cipralex for about almost 2 yrs now, and I don't find it worked as well as the celexa when it was working... I'm guessing it works different for everybody.. Do u still suffer panic n depression a lot??

I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.

celexa generic citalopram and brand name cipram in the the eastern countries is produced by the same Danish company which produces cipralex/lexapro/escitalopram. In different forums one finds many pts using it. it's weaker than lexapro, exactly half its therapeutic dose in maximum and minimum. BP pts take wellbutrin, celexa, lexapro in the majority of the cases. A few take seroxat/paxil to go with lamictal.

I have experienced this from both Celexa and Cipralex. Weening yourself off the medication will probably be your doctor's strongest suggestion, as this eases the body out of dependency. The first withdrawal symptoms I experienced were slight brain twitches, almost as if I was feeling little shocks or jerks. They didn't scare me because I knew the cause, and they subsided quite quickly. After that it was mostly dizziness or lightheadedness, fatigue and irritability.

I was on cipralex and Wellbutrin for 1 and a half years and then my doc switched me to Effexor for a year which caused more side effects than anything so iv been back on cipralex for about a week, I guess we will see how that goes.

It is my understanding that the lexapro is the new and improved version of the celexa. I have done great on the celexa so I am not planning on changing anytime soon. Everybody does different on meds so what works for me may not work for you. I know many people tht have done well on the lexapro and just as many that have done well on the celexa. You will just have to see what works best for you.

Hi I'm currently taking cipralex (antidepressants) for anxiety and panic attacks. Currently I have been feeling a strange electric shock type feeling going through my body. This is usually accompained by pulsing of muscles. I don't think this could be caused by anxiety as lately I have been less anxious. I am worried that have some rare disease I would be really grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance :).

I tried Zoloft and Celexa and found that in the end cipralex is currently the best option for me. Like JG said, it is trial and error. If you find one is not working for you, talk to you dr and try another.

i have had generalized anxiety (severe) for 12 yrs. currently only on 5 mg of lexapro only because i couldn't get off the last 5mg. i take clonazepam which is the only thing that works, but every couple of years i hit a wall and need to up the antidepressant. been on zoloft, paxil, celexa,effexor, lyrica, cipralex(lexapro), maoi's, etc..wondering if pristiq works, or maybe cymbalta? only snri i was on was effexor, which didn't do much but also had a brutal psych.

This is thing about prescription antidepressants and anti anxiety meds. You have no idea what kind of side effects you could start experiencing once the drug takes effect. I've also tried Celexa and Cipralex on separate occassions, and neither of them left me thinking "Good thing I went on those!" They're not worth it. Your sleeplessness and drowsiness and confusion are only some of the harsh effects that people can experience.

The newer antidepressant (which is pretty much all that is getting prescribed nowadays) have pretty much the same side-effect but each person is different so if you are getting a lot of side effects (past the two week point - they all suck the first two weeks) on one you may be able to switch to another and it works great. There are just too many variable in the human body. For example I can't handle Wellbutrin but can handle Cipralex or Celexa.

Hi! I been on the pain forum for a while now. I'm on Vicoprophen 7.5/200 and Celexa my question is if you can get tolerant to Celexa?. In other words i dont find them working as well as they did. I think my dose is 20mg a day. I feel i'm getting depressed again like i was before. I been like this now for about a week. I been on Celexa for about 10 months. Any input on this would be great. I'm seeing my Doctor next week.

Hi I've been diagnosed with GAD, my doctor put me on celexa and metoprolol 25 mg both once a day, after the meds started working I felt great and stopped taking them, I did well for 8 months and all of the sudden I have feelings as if I'm going to hallucinate or I'm going to trip on lsd! Everything just seems off, has anyone else dealt with this ?! Please help it's driving me insane!

I am BP1, but have hit clinical depression. I think they put me on a AD because of this and I'm pregnant and they don't want to put me on too high of a dose of Lamictal. Lamictal, I've been on it on and off for a couple yrs. It never really helped much with depression for me. So maybe all I needed all along was a AD. I've taken as high of a dose as 400mg of lamictal when not pregnant. It helps with the mania for short periods of time, but then I always have to up my dose.

fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine (Luvox), sertraline (Zoloft), citalopram (Celexa), escitalopram (Cipralex, Essertia) can help. Psychotherapy such as cognitive behavioural therapy could also do the trick. Or a mixture of both. Have you seen: http://www.trich.org/ ?

I was on Cipralex for a year since losing dad and losing my job. had bad anxiety and insomnia.

I take both those meds and avoid all cold medicines and over the counter medications because they can interact with the cipralex and serequel. I always call my pharmacist and ask which medications could counteract with my anti depressants.

anxiety is a common denominator for all psych disorders. it's not specific to BP alone. Taking cipralex will do you good for a while but then it will drive you manic eventually. you said cipralex, is it the only drug you take or along with other meds ? because if you take mood stabilizers along with then perhaps it's safe. but i never heard someone with BP is prescribed an antidepressant only. cipralex is rather strong it's an SSRI.

This go around I tried celexa and lexapro and I marched into that office and I said no orgasms makes me a very unhappy person. So he gave me the drug that has the least sexual side affects...Wellbutrin. And it works great...no lack of sex drive and most importantly I still get the big "O." Now I will say this though, having been on prozac for an extended period of time before, I don't remember having any panic at all while on it. It is an SSRI so works on serotonin.

He told me to consult with the psychristic. I consulted with the psychristic. He advised me to take cipralex for one and half month. After taking the cipralex too i feels the same sympton. For that i once again consulted with the other neurophysician in bangalore. He advised me for doing the MRI Scan. The result of the MRI saying "Mild ectopia of cerebellar tonsils. The tips of the tonsil is 5mm below the formen magnum. No mass effect is seen on the Brain stem.
