Avatar f tn I'm a 55 Y/O female who has been binge eating for about 20 years. I've been to every kind of therapy, even went to a psychiatrist who specializes in eating disorders, gave me an RX ( don't remember the name) I've gained and lost 50LBS 3 times, this time I gained 60LBS and can't loose the last 25. I can't control my eating no matter what I do. I've also been to OA and I didn't like it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Is anyone out there a binge eater that would like to get into contact to help recovery? I've had eating disorders for the past 10 years...anorexia, bulimia, recovered on my own for a bit, but now after starting a career and having more stress in my life, I'm not normal anymore. I binge. I went on topamax for a bit and this helped but didn't like the weird side effects and I know I can't rely on drugs my whole life. I'm 26 and just want to be normal with food.
1396756 tn?1283523477 Often binge eating is an emotional thing, we find confort in food. You hear people talk about their "comfort foods" these are things they eat when upset or sad. The Paxil IS helping you and this is why you no longer have to eat to feel better....good for you! One thing to help lose the weight is to eat every 3-4 hours, healthy snacks. Fresh fruit, handful of nuts, yogurt, chicken, vegetables, and exercise. Eating every few hours keeps your metabolism at it's peak.
Avatar f tn I've always suffered from binge eating. 3 months ago I tried Meridia, and it was wonderful. I do not like to take medicines...therefore I stopped taking Meridia, but sometimes I take one for a few days when I believe I'm eating too much....but as soon as i stop taking it, I go back to the same old habits. Do you know of something similar that I can take w/o the same side effects...
794366 tn?1418009395 Now, it is not a miracle, but it simply lets the voice of no, come out and then allows you to actually listen to it and reason with yourself a little more. Again, sometimes you will still fall prey to the eating voice and go off track, but in my expereince, you have less of that and more successful days. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Binge eating after dinner please help I always do really well then after dinner I blow it and I know ive gotta get rid of this problem to loose the weight I want.
Avatar f tn Everyday i say i will control myself and my eating but I always end up giving in and overeating and eating large quantities of unhealthy fattening and junk foods. I end up feeling so guilty and ashamed and stuffed that I end up throwing it all up. The worst part is that I will usually end up re-doing this cycle all over again soon after i throw up. It is perpetuating my shame and self disgust and I can't control myself.
Avatar f tn I have oesteosporosis and I binge eat. Binge eating has never been a problem in the past because I have always been very thin and never gained weight, until now. For years my weight has been between 102 & 106. I'm 5'3". Over the past few years I have gained 15 lbs. and it keeps adding on. I can't believe that at my age , this is a huge problem for me.
Avatar f tn I have been struggling with what I believe is binge eating disorder. It has gotten out of control and I am at a loss as to how to stop it. I have gained a horrible amount of weight and am miserable. I just want to regain control and able to cope in a healthy way...
Avatar f tn The best thing to do is not have junk food in the house, if you can't stop with eating a single portion. Replace the chips, cookies, etc with fresh cut up veggies, such as carrots, celery, radishes, broccoli, or cauliflower. You'll get the same crunch, but you'll get nutrition instead of the fat and empty calories. If you need the salt, sprinkle on just a tad of sea salt to add a bit of flavor.

Avatar f tn I also recommend watching the binge eating disorder video on YouTube from the channel breelovesbeauty .... I suffered from bed and these things helped me a lot.
877379 tn?1259664623 It's not about being able to "control ourselves". We are not people without will power; we are people with an illness. OA is a twelve-step program and the first step is "I'm powerless over my disease." How many mornings have we woken up and sworn to ourselves, "I won't binge today" and then we do and are miserable by the end of the day. I can still remember how bad that felt, day after day.
Avatar n tn What kind of physical consequences are there to binge eating. I had this for years, overeating really fast and way too much. In the recent past I got on a medication and stopped. But now I have bad acid reflux, what feels like a tear in my intestines and an ulcer in my stomach and a gallbladder that is going downhill. I never knew what it meant to be full because I would alot of times eat past that.
8793709 tn?1409594060 every day I give in to some kind of unhealthy eating binge. my problem is that when I open a pack of biscuits, chocolates or anything the like, I can't stop until I've finished eating the entire pack ... that can be anything between 500 - 1000 calories. after that I feel so guilty. and yet it happens all the time. You ladies experienced the same? what do you do in such situations?
Avatar f tn The pain wakes me every couple of hours and it takes another hour or so to get back to sleep. During this time I binge eat and as a result have regained most of the 27lb I lost this year. Please Please Please can anyone give me some help. My doctors are of no help at all.
Avatar f tn What do you binge eat? I think much of the problem (which thankfully is no longer my problem), is having temptation at hand (along with giving in to temptation, forming the habit, and finding the habit is Really Hard to Break). An early step towards solving the problem of binge eating for me was to stop having my favourite foods in the house (& going down to the local grocers for one, small amount to bring home).
Avatar f tn I'm a 56 y/o female who has had a problem with binge eating since I was about 30. I can gain 20 lbs in a month no problem. Sometimes I can't stop eating, and when I'm too full to eat anymore, I can't wait to digest so I can eat more. I've been to psychiatrist's that specialize in eating disorders, OA, read every book I could find, went to counseling for years and years, and have been on every diet there is.
4287262 tn?1358999012 I feel like the last week All i want to do is eat. I can never get enough food. My question is, When did you start Feeling like Binge eating, and did it cause you to gain alot of weight. I have only gained 2 lbs so far, and I am very skinny, so I could care less about gaining weight if its for my baby. Just want to make sure this is normal for right now, or if its because I am lacking certain nutrients. thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn About a month and a half ago I went on a 2 day cocaine binge sniffing (then eating powder cocaine mixed with NSAID). I think I had a Transient Ischemic Attack and the left side of my body was full of tingling and pins and needles. After about 30 min to an hour the symptoms went away and I was fine until two weeks later. Two weeks later my left toes felt like it had a band around it and the tingling was out of control. The tingling moved to the back of my leg a little as well.
Avatar f tn When I drink even a moderate amount I do not binge and purge. Also, I always get the urge to binge and purge during the evening. I am thinking of going to a professional but I really want to do this by myself, I was wondering if this could be due to a chemical imbalance?? I have always had problems with depression as a child and was anorexic for sometime as an adolescent until I discovered bulimia.
3923358 tn?1358552214 recurrent episodes of binge eating in the absence of the regular use of inappropriate compensatory behaviours characteristic of Bulimia Nervosa. http://www.eatingdisorders.org.nz/index.php?id=836 http://www.addictions.net/id273.html#.UZRkE0pYTAk http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn My main concern is that it seems the cipralex messed my metabolism up and I gained 40 lbs very fast, whereas before even if I was eating “bad” I only used to fluctuate 5-10 lbs my whole life. I have been off cipralex for several months and can’t lose the weight. I have had 3 urine tests in the last month with 0.3 erythrocytes (should be negative), HI Bacteria (should be negative), and the tribe culture says “3 or more organisms present” and that it is probably contamination.
