Common Questions and Answers about Cipralex and alesse

ciprodex

Avatar f tn I was on cipralex January 2017-November 2017 and have been off it since November. At the same time I stopped taking alesse which I had been on for 10 years without a break. My main concern is that it seems the cipralex messed my metabolism up and I gained 40 lbs very fast, whereas before even if I was eating “bad” I only used to fluctuate 5-10 lbs my whole life. I have been off cipralex for several months and can’t lose the weight. I have had 3 urine tests in the last month with 0.
Avatar n tn I have been overweight all my life. But, at Thanksgiving this year, my brother calculated my BMR for me and I began losing four to five pounds a month. In February, my doctor prescribed two new meds: Alesse to control my irregular menstrual cycle and iron for anemia. Since March, my weight loss has stalled, even though I am still counting calories and burning five hundred calories five days a week at the gym. Could the cause of the stall be either of the new meds?
Avatar n tn I'm 21yrs old and I started taking Diane 35 this month, I've taken all 21 pills already and on my 2nd week taking it I developed this breast pains, its more like a hypersensibility. I couldn't even wear a bra because it hurt badly. Its been getting a little better now but I can't stand having that pain anymore, it's been getting on my bf's nerves too since he can't touch them.
Avatar m tn I would like to know the possibility of pregnancy based on this scenario, and whether I should go ahead and take Plan B.
Avatar f tn I am about to switch from alesse to yasmin but I am nervous because there have been many birth control pills that give me uncontrollable mood swings, anxiety and depression. Alesse has been okay for me, not the best, but ok. Does anyone else experience this when they take birth control pills? I think that it is related very closely to PCOS.
Avatar f tn I was on Cipralex for a year since losing dad and losing my job. had bad anxiety and insomnia.
Avatar n tn I take both those meds and avoid all cold medicines and over the counter medications because they can interact with the cipralex and serequel. I always call my pharmacist and ask which medications could counteract with my anti depressants.
1267205 tn?1321117128 anxiety is a common denominator for all psych disorders. it's not specific to BP alone. Taking cipralex will do you good for a while but then it will drive you manic eventually. you said cipralex, is it the only drug you take or along with other meds ? because if you take mood stabilizers along with then perhaps it's safe. but i never heard someone with BP is prescribed an antidepressant only. cipralex is rather strong it's an SSRI.
717440 tn?1292743742 yesterday we had sex and I kinda bled (NEVER happened before). It wasn't even so much a spot as it was "runny" ... hard to explain. Is it normal to spot or have runny blood if you skip periods? I'm on Avian (Alesse). Also, could my Lithium be causing any problems? I read here bc and Lithium shouldn't be combined, but my pdoc says it's fine. I'm extremely worried because I had a pap biopsy done last month and they said it doesn't look good.
Avatar m tn He told me to consult with the psychristic. I consulted with the psychristic. He advised me to take cipralex for one and half month. After taking the cipralex too i feels the same sympton. For that i once again consulted with the other neurophysician in bangalore. He advised me for doing the MRI Scan. The result of the MRI saying "Mild ectopia of cerebellar tonsils. The tips of the tonsil is 5mm below the formen magnum. No mass effect is seen on the Brain stem.
Avatar f tn m finding that the past few months I am consistently anxious and depressed. I am concerned that it could be the birth control that I am on. I would like to know if there are any b.c. pills that limit this side effect. I also find that my libido is less strong. All of these symptoms are affecting my relationship. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn My went to visit my doctor about my anxiety and sleeping issues and he has put me on Cipralex 10mg dosage a day and also prescribed me 50mg of trazodone to be taken at bedtime to help me sleep. Does anyone take these prescriptions? if so could I please get some feedback on them?
574118 tn?1305135284 So do you think panic and fear can be an extra side effect of cipralex and i should increase the above doze of xanax.
Avatar f tn You have a bunch of options to choose from, and Alesse is as good as any (although some people work better with some brands than with others).
Avatar n tn said as soon as i decide i felt comfortable enough to stop the thinners i could BUT id have to stop taking alesse and switch to the mini pills. So 2 months ago i started taking micronor, didnt have any issues, my bf and i abstained the whole month to be on the safe side and my period came around right on the dot as to my period calendar and it was sooo light to what i was used to it was like it was barely there. Okay so now that was about 2 weeks ago my last period.
Avatar f tn I found out last week I have hypothyroidism, I started levothyroxine sodium also last week. I'm on alesse birth control and was due to start my period yeasterday and didn't get it, it's always on time. The last time I had sex was in may and I used both a condom and the pill but I was late for the pill a few times that month, is it a higher possibility of pregnancy or just a late period from the new medication?
Avatar m tn I have had head aches on cipralex, and when I drink some or even more then some drinks I get almost sick with a head ache. 1) are head aches common in taking anxiety drugs, 2) any way preventing the head aches. 3) dry mouth is that common with these drugs.
Avatar n tn I would give it some time. and don't keep checking your heart rate. Cipralex and this class of drugs are long acting and not something that would just drop your heart rate. But as your stress and anxiety decrease, your heart rate in the resting mode may go back to normal. A resting heart rate of 50 is in the normal range. You are on a low dose. Hope it helps your anxiety/panic. I have found that often anxiety takes a bit higher dose to really work well.
Avatar n tn I have been researching the cardiovascular effects of birth control and saw that it can raise c-reactive protein levels. How clinically significant is this? I know crp is a measure of inflammation in the body. So is increasing it's level going to actually cause inflammation? Or is it simply upregulated, and if so what are the consequences of that? I recently switched for alesse which has levonorgestrel. I read this progestin has the worst effect on cholesterol levels.
Avatar n tn When I stopped, I was fine for six months but my depression suddenly started again. I restarted taking cipralex 10 mg one each night and I improved quickly. Now it is four years that I am taking it. I now want to stop it because I am having very decreased sixual drive. So my question is that, Will my sexual drive improve when I stop taking cipralex?
Avatar f tn I was on cipralex (lexapro in the US) for almost 3 years and initially experienced some dry mouth, but no extreme side effects at all. It worked amazingly for me. I started on 10mg and then doubled to 20mg after 1 year. I recently switched to Paxil about 1 month ago, and have really disliked the way it makes me feel. My anxiety has been much worse and the side effects are just awful. It has been so much worse than cipralex.
Avatar f tn I am currently on Aviane... same deal as Alesse. I was due to get my period yesterday and still have not got it. My period/spotting from before last 16-17 days, so it makes me wonder if I will even get my actual period...
Avatar f tn I was on celexa for 8.5 yrs.. Started on 20mgs n my dr raised it to 40mgs after 4 yrs cuz it just didn't seem to be working.. After another 4.5 yrs it stopped working so she put me on cipralex... Been on cipralex for about almost 2 yrs now, and I don't find it worked as well as the celexa when it was working... I'm guessing it works different for everybody.. Do u still suffer panic n depression a lot??
Avatar m tn I am facing burning feet and shin while sitting since last 5 years. My NCS, RA Factor, ANA, ESR are normal. I have taken variety of medicines including Dulan, ronirol, tegral, prothyadine, cipralex, epival cr 500, sensival 25 etc. but my problem is still not resolved. During this problem i started walk which increased the problem. However, during walk i feel very normal i.e. no painful burning sensation, i feel. This is important that when i lay down i donot feel pain.
