Chantix for less

Common Questions and Answers about Chantix for less

chantix

Avatar n tn However, because the drug does not fully activate the nicotine receptors, Chantix withdrawal is expected to be less severe, or it may not occur at all. However, if a withdrawal does occur from Chantix, they could be reported as: sleeping problems and irritability. As for a doctor's approval to stop using Chantix, it should be fallowed.
407029 tn?1253992623 They recommend that you use the Chantix for 3 to 6 months. I did so well with it that I was off it in less than 3 months. When you start forgetting to take it you know it's time to come off it. If I could, I we be a walking advertisement for Chantix. I had tried the patch, the gum, zyban and hypnosis in the past and got absolutely no where. Chantix is a wonder drug as far as I'm concerned. To me the benefits of Chantix far out way any of the risks.
286124 tn?1214938528 I am taking chantix and was prescribed lortab for my back.
1609058 tn?1298089127 I've had an awful experience that I must share and find out if anyone else has gone through it. I currently take Lexapro 10mg, a mild antidepressant, and it's wonderful for me. A little over a month ago, I requested a prescription for Chantix to quit smoking. Even though I'd heard lots of negative things about the side effects, I thought it was worth trying. After 4 weeks of taking it, I did notice that my mood was being affected, so I decided to stop taking it.
Avatar f tn Have you tried Chantix? If you have ins go to your doctor and ask him for chantix. It's a rx designed to block the nicotine receptors. You smoke while taking the med the first week and then you stop smoking, but continue the medicine. After the first week you will notice the cravings are mental but not so much physical. You can google "chantix" and you can learn more about it. I am 30 and have smoking since 12, it's the hardest habit to break.
Avatar f tn I used Chantix for my quit but had no ill side effects. Hindsight, I probably wouldn't use it again because of all the negativity so what I would suggest is if you have already gone 2 days without a smoke, you might want to consider stopping the Chantix. You are still going to have a physical withdrawal regardless of how long you use the pill though I don't know to what degree, all I can say is that I had a rough go of it.
444932 tn?1273980797 my nose was itchy for weeks but I hung in got through it and the yukky stomach I also had from time to time. Other than that, I was amazed at how quickly Chantix made me crave less and less. For me, it was that "miracle" drug but there are many who would dispute that. All I know is that it worked for me and I am very grateful! I smoked for nearly 40 years and I thought I would die smoking.
Avatar f tn Certainly it's better if you cut down on the cigarettes. Ask your OB or RE to prescribe Chantix for you. I hear it's ok to take during pregnancy and it really helps with trying to quit smoking. Know you're not a lone if you can't quit, many women aren't able to completely quick during pregnancy and the baby turns out okay. I'm not endorsing it of course, just letting you know that you're not the only that's pregnant and could just cut back.
380558 tn?1309042387 Today's 3 weeks off of the Tramadol (thank God!).. I slept 10 hours last night! I can't believe that! Of course, now tonight I may sleep an hour! lol I also stopped smoking altogether.. :D.. I've been taking Chantix for 3 days now, but stopping it tomorrow.. (I could care less what it says, to take it for 12 weeks, but I'm hearing entirely too many horror stories!) I've gotten a great deal of support here and want to thank everyone, once again! Love ya guys!

950277 tn?1247274551 My mother in law went on the chantix program. She was a smoker of over 50 years. She has been on Chantix for 3months. She actually lights her smoke but does not smoke it. She does this twice daily. She really has quit. It is amazing!
729288 tn?1251254433 However, I did take Chantix last June to quit smoking. I only took it for 2 1/2 weeks as the nausea was so bad. I was successful in quitting so far - it has been eight months. I read somewhere that one of the symptoms of Hep C is a lost taste for cigarettes. Not only did I not the the taste anymore of cigarettes but the smell made me sick as well.
Avatar f tn I took chantix for 1 1/2 months and experienced a little gas but that was all. I quit taking chantix 3 days after my last cigarette and that was 9 months 1 week and 4 days ago. I think I should consider myself one of the lucky ones as all I hear on this board is how bad chantix was for them! Outside of this board, I knew a dozen or so people who took it, and none of them had anything more serious then gas and bad dreams! I hope you start feeling better real soon and I hope that you have quit.
Avatar f tn Last june i was hospitalized with pneumonia, being a smoker they put a patch on me, i am to understand that they are not for 24 hr use and should be moved from one place to another, when i was realeased i bought patches and had a very bad reaction my Dr.
444932 tn?1273980797 I am on day #5 on Chantix. For the past two days, I have gotten headaches within an hour of taking it in the a.m. Has anyone else experienced this? Does this side effect eventually go away?
Avatar m tn Hey everyone, Sorry I haven't posted for awhile, but truth be told, I relapsed...got a bottle of 140 Norco's and finished them in 6 days....with this in mind, I went to my Dr. to get a drug called Chantix to quit smoking. Was taking it the week I was taking the Norcos...that second week (this week) I'm out of Norco and quit smoking.....and I FEEL GREAT!!!! I mean seriously, minimal withdrawls, felt foggy this morning but otherwise feel just fine....no chills...NOTHING!!!! AND...
Avatar f tn what is that procedure out there where they put somthin in your ear for $100 thats supost to make you stop smoking?
1096641 tn?1271707225 I used Chantix and didn't have any complications. I have never heard of headaches related to Chantix and I just googled "chantix and headaches" which brought up several articles but there was nothing that links the two (mentions of Chantix and headache on the same page). Just wondering Terry where you heard/read it? My husband suffered from cluster headaches and they were nothing like the ones you describe. His were so intense and lasted sometimes for hours.
Avatar n tn I have been working out everyday and find the cravings coming less and less. I am only 25 and have wanted to quit for about 3 years off and on. I will keep you guys posted.
Avatar f tn I had the most wonderful wet dreams when I was taking Chantix. I think I banged almost every one of my high school cheerleaders in those dreams. I quit smoking a month ago but I think I'm going to ask my doctor for another prescription for Chantix because I really miss those wet dreams. I was a super stud in those dreams. The kind of stud you can only dream about. I miss all of that good *****.
Avatar f tn I was taking Chantix for about a week and a half when I had to quit it because I was experiencing depression which was getting worse by the day. This is going on the 2nd full day of no Chantix but I am still feeling depressed. I want to know how long does it stay in your system for. I woke up today and felt close to normal and then it came back again.
Avatar f tn ve been smoke free for over a year without it. I know a lot of peole get side effects from chantix but not much for me. I took it steadily for about 9 month and stopped about 5-6 weeks ago. I started having cravings again and broke down and paid for a re fill. That first pill worked fast and really helped with any cravings. I will take it as needed for however long and try to always have some on hand.
596605 tn?1369946627 Hmm, 'some' of the fatigue may be due to the quit, but the level you're talking about sounds more like the Chantix. You may also want to make an appt for a physical if you haven't had one recently, as smoking can mask all sorts of issues. Congrats on day 3, and good luck!!
Avatar n tn I would not think that Chantix would affect your thyroid, but everyone is different. Are you still taking Chantix? I am assuming not. ALso, I feel compelled to mention that I too had the symptoms you had, except for the trouble breathing, and my vitamin D level was extremely deficient. You may want to get that checked. Wishing you the best.
