Cetirizine infant dose

Common Questions and Answers about Cetirizine infant dose

zyrtec

Avatar f tn I noticed for the past year or more that his growth has not been the same as when he was an infant/toddler. A friend had told me that she saw online somewhere that Zyrtec can suppress growth in children. Maybe when used for a long time? Does anyone know about this? Is this true? Or is this a possibility that Zyrtec taken for allergy could suppress growth in children?

Avatar n tn Medicines like cetirizine are used to treat nasal allergies. So if one has both, the surgery itself will not make the allergies go away. Therefore, medicines like cetirizine may be needed indefinitely if symptoms are bad enough. Cetirizine is generally very well tolerated. You can look online for the list of possible side effects.
Avatar f tn pls share with me what you did/took/is taking to stop this, am three weeks pregnant and has intching, my doc prescribed CETIRIZINE, but am scared to take this, can anyone confirm if its safe as am in first semister, pls help am worried.
Avatar n tn He takes an allergy medicine (cetirizine hydrochloride) every day (three tablets which is over the recommended dose, but necessary to control his hive outbreaks) and predisone often. I would like to know from more metformin users if this is something they have experienced. BTW- He was referred to an allergist who claims it is some sort of an autoimmune response in older people (he is 65), which I do not believe as there were not objective tests to substantiate this.
Avatar f tn I get hives and I take something that is similar to zyrtec for it. Cetirizine 10mg given to me by my VA (veteran affairs) doctor. It's safe. Get well soon. I know the feeling and it *****.
1331658 tn?1275341605 If this is the case, then it is best to take a maintenance dose of any one anti-histamine and slowly increase this dose as per need. This will give you the option of adding another anti-histamine later on. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar n tn PLEASE help. My question is do you think my child's liver, kidney, or heart could be damaged? How would I know? Here is the story: Greyson had a 102 fever for four days straight with no other symptoms while we were on vacation. I called the Dr.'s office in Florida and the receptionist who answered the phone just said to give him tylenol. That is what I had been doing-it would relieve the fever for just a bit but it would shoot right back to 102 as soon as it wore off.

Avatar f tn I notice there is a white head on the tip as well. really dont know what is it.. I have been taking antibiotics (a week) and cetirizine (one month) and isotrotinoin (few months time) for a while. That is strange as I assume cetirizine should help anti-allergy as doctor prescribed to me when I had other allergy on my skin - it occurs when my skin have pressure on it and it goes red and itchy, when you scatch it, it swells a big piece.
Avatar f tn While pregnant they diagnosed me with hypothyroid and I took a low dose of thyroxin medication each day. I was induced as I was a week overdue and my son was 8 lbs and perfectly healthy. After my delivery I noticed his arms shook rhythmically when he was crying or upset. I don’t feel this was an injury from birth as I remember while pregnant feeling a few unusual movements inside me in month 7 and 8 that felt like the baby was shaking.
Avatar n tn I am wintering in Mexico and I unfortunately did not do any research on this before giving it to my dog as prescribed by a vet down here. I've now learned that paracetamol is toxic to dogs and I'm very upset. I only gave him one dose of what was prescribed and this was over a week ago and no visible reactions have occurred (yet) but I would like to ask someone's help in figuring out how much he was actually prescribed/given.
Avatar f tn My allergist from Cleveland clinic here in Coral Spring FL prescribe me CETIRIZINE 10MG 3 tablets a day for a month and then bring it down to 2 a day. I began with the treatment on March 2021 as today July 27/2021 I can tell you that I'm feeling 85% better before was every single day going to hell, today I'm not completely free, but feel much much better. Try it. CETIRIZINE is the same as ZYRTEC, but less expensive if a Dr. prescribed it . Good luck.
Avatar f tn dont give the med in a tablet for an infant, report back to the pharmacist, and explain that you baby is only 15 months old, he should be able to contact the doctor and get the prescription changed, or mabee the prescription was misread, please double check with the pharmacist before giving the Tablets to your baby, good luck. and hope baby will do fine.
Avatar f tn The more progressive doctors will allow an opioid-addicted mother on buprenorphine to continue to take buprenorphine while breast feeding, as doing so will effectively taper the infant off opioids over time. Whenever a woman on opioids breast feeds, the infant receives a tiny fraction of what the mother is on, and much of that is broken down by the infant liver before reaching the general circulation.
Avatar m tn You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(Zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(Benadryl) is used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C and apply calamine lotion on the rashes.
11246063 tn?1420951832 Two days that I'm itching on my back, arms and legs. No rashes though. I took cetirizine thinking I'm having allergies but the itch did not lessen a bit. What do you think it is?
Avatar f tn So 2 months later we took him in for his 6 month shots and its the same thing, he dosnt talk as much. All the things he has learned are gone and he dose not have the same attention span he had before. i am worried about what the vaccines may have done to him and am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and knows what if anything can be done at this point to undo the damage.
Avatar f tn There are medications that the pediatrician can order to help ease the withdrawal symptoms,,I think phenobarbitol is used. Hope this helps some,,,the symptoms can peak within 12 hours after the last dose. For babies a taper may be effective to help ease those w/d symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi there- I've never taken Suboxone but I know that the lower the dose you jump from, the better you'll feel. In your case, 4mg is too high a dose to abruptly stop. Its too high a dose for anyone. Most people taper slowly down to .5, .25, or crumbs. Tramadol may be making you feel worse and it WILL prolong wd's because it comes with its own set of unpleasantries. I'd say call the doctor and go back on so you can taper very slowly...and stay away from the Tramadol...
Avatar m tn Did you check out the answer to your post with the water soluble and infant oral syringe doses? From yesterday. You my want to investigate the Health Pages with the heading Members Experiences Getting Off of Sub ........ No need to feel alone while doing this one....
Avatar m tn Reference Dr Junig on the Addiction Expert Forum - or Thesuboxonetalkzone - - of course there is an eigth of a dose - - - some crush and divide powder into the appropriate dose to equal small mg doses...... The more approved method uses an infant syringe ----- you simply (this is an example...) dissolve one (1) eight (8) milligram tablet in 8 syringes of water in container........this yields 1 milligram of suboxone per syringe of solution.
