Avatar f tn I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.
Avatar m tn After spending some time online, I am confused and not certain that will treat the above issues. Could you please tell me what Cefdinir could treat of the above STDs? Sorry in advance for all of the questions and i really appreciate your service as there is not a real easy place in the USA to go in order to get all of your questions answered.
1265027 tn?1284839951 my so nis allergic to PENICILLIN> i took him to the dr tuesday and he had a double ear infrceion. she put him on CEFDINIR and said there was a 5% chance hed have reation and wednesday (after 3 doses) he broke out in an awful rash. just like he did when he was 11 months old from the penicillin,. he is 2 and a half now. I took him to the dr and we stopped the medicine and i began the 4-6 hrs of benadryl i just want to know how long will he continue to break out?
Avatar m tn the supplements enhance the effectiveness of the antibiotics and the 2nd antibiotic (cefdinir) is to go after the lyme. we know there is nothing here to treat the cyst form of lyme but the Dr. didn't want to put me on any more medicines at this time.
Avatar f tn I could find no reports to suggest (what is called) cross-reactivity between Bactrim and Cefdinir. That does, however, not rule out this possibility. You were wise to stop taking the drug and contact your physician. You ask is this an allergic reaction or a symptom. The sensations and numbness you describe would fall under the heading of symptoms. The symptoms could be caused by an adverse reaction to the medication that could be either allergic or non-allergic with inflammation.
Avatar f tn Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!
1917408 tn?1421952040 but none of my instructions say which one I should start with. I am anxious to get going on this and hate to have to wait until tomorrow so that I can clarify. I know one more day shouldn't matter that much, but that could mean feeling better one day earlier, once this starts to work!
Avatar f tn Sorry you are having such a hard time -- it may be a 'Herx' reaction, short for Herxheimer ... you can look it up on wikipedia, but it's the effect of the bacteria dying off and releasing their toxins into your system. I'd call the doc's office tomorrow and report your symptoms, because it could be something the doc needs to know about, like whether to change the meds or the dose or whatever. Don't do that without the doc's approval, tho.

Avatar f tn I continued to take the birth control while i took the antibiotics, which i know antibiotics lowers the effectiveness of the BC but will a few days after you stop taking the antibiotics the birth control be effective? or how long?
Avatar f tn for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things. is the vertigo/dizziness normal with these infections and how long until I can expect some relief from this medication?
Avatar m tn Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
Avatar f tn I was not tested again for strep but was given cefdinir. I realize I am only day 3 but my throat hurts worse than it did to begin with. I'm having trouble swallowing and have a consistent stabbing pain in my throat. I'm curious if anyone else has had similar symptoms or knows if this could be a continuation of strep or something else.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, the last time I had to use the albuterol treatments, my son was suspect of having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic that he was on (Cefdinir) for a bacterial infection in his middle ears (he had a rash on the inside of his legs and developed a chronic cough, which lead to severe asthma).
458027 tn?1223609651 I was going to go through treatment but not entirely convinced that it was what I wanted to do. My dr says unless I am totally committed that he does not want to treat me. At present I have no problems except for joints that seem weak.
Avatar m tn s not a straight shot from diagnosis to meds to renewed health. There is not one single treatment approach that all docs agree on, largely because (in my estimation) the medical community is still working on the best way to diagnose and treat -- especially so when the patient has multiple infections as you do and as I did (Lyme and babesiosis were mine), and probably other factors still unclear.
3112631 tn?1356653557 Wow, Zygy -- you've been through so much! My symptoms have really ramped up over the last week and so my "to treat or not to treat" question is suddenly moving more into the "when I treat" realm. I haven't had a break in headache in a week and a half (I know, not bad in chiari-land, but something I haven't dealt with in a while). Also, my dizziness is severe and I had a blackout the other night as well.
