My second question is that given it has been over a week, when should i get tested for STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) and then Syphillis and HIV as I understand some STD test are not completely accurate until a certain timeframe. Third, what are my odds of catching Syphillis give it is more prevelant in SE Asia and Thailand.
Do yourself a favor and visit an urgent care clinic, inform them of what you stated here and just pay for the visit. They'll most likely treat you for gonorrhea and chlamydia given the fact that your partner had positive results. It should be a quick painless shot in the butt followed by a few days of azithro (z-pack). I know it sucks, but just do it and then go back a few weeks later for a follow up urine test to see if it cleared up.
It's far better to treat and know than to wonder.
as i said it is an antibiotic so would kill bacteria to some degree but if you tested negative at 6 weeks you dont have it
I've been fighting a battle of diarrhea for the past four days with no end in sight.
Yesterday I went to the hospital because I began to experience sever dehydration.
I was also worried because three weeks prior to experiencing this diarrhea I had laparoscopic surgery to repair a very large hiadial hernia.
Last night at the ER they could see no reason for my symptom. The only symptom being sever diarrhea.
Your doctor may have an explanation to account for your symptoms but, if not he/she may have to empirically prescribe another drug, one not in the category of bactrim and Cefdinir. It would also be reasonable for you to ask your doctor to contact the pharmaceutical manufacturers of these drugs to find out if reactions such as yours have been reported.
Thank you for responding to my question. It has been 12 days since I had root canal on #14. Took Cipro for 7 days. I'm still feeling lpain/discomfort on #14 and try not to chew on that side of mouth. How long does it for root canal to heal? Can and do root canal fail? What are symptoms of failed root canal. At the time of root canal Endodonist put temporary filled on crown. I have appoint with regular dentist for permanent filling in a week.
was just diagnosed last wednesday with the flu, and then yesterday 5 days later was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. for the last couple of days i have had really bad vertigo wether I am standing or sitting, feels kinda like I am drunk all day long, and really spiking my anxiety. I was put on cefdinir but have not even been on it a full 24 hours yet. I was wondering two things.
I've had a sore throat for about 3 weeks now. I originally went to the doctor with overall feeling of malaise, headache, fever, slight sore throat and abdominal pain. I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared.
1.5g Zithromax for three days on Second week. 3 days of Cefdinir for possible UTI few weeks later(didn't finish 10day). Now, I'm on the 11th day of Doxycycline for the NSU diagnosis. Doxy made it better for the first 4 or 5 days but now it's slowly coming back and I'm still popping pills. I gotta call the doc cause they want to see me if my condition persists. The doc even suggested a prostate exam.
I'm a female and 5 days after giving oral sex to a male I came down with a sore throat and puss pockets went to dr and was put on z pack. That didn't clear it so I was put on cefdinir pus pockets are gone and my throat is no longer sore, however I have whitish grey flat patches in my throat on both sides just behind my back teeth. 2nd dr I went to tested me and I tested positive for yeast she gave me Nystatin for 10 days and patches are still there.
Sorry you are having such a hard time -- it may be a 'Herx' reaction, short for Herxheimer ... you can look it up on wikipedia, but it's the effect of the bacteria dying off and releasing their toxins into your system.
I'd call the doc's office tomorrow and report your symptoms, because it could be something the doc needs to know about, like whether to change the meds or the dose or whatever. Don't do that without the doc's approval, tho.
m male by the way. I have tested TWICE for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea and came clean and one test for NGU which I came clean. I was first given Zithromax 1.5g over three days which helped the discomfort in my urethra. In addition to the irritable urethra, there was a strong burning sensation on the surface of the glans and part of my foreskin.
Due to this burning on the glans, I have been using Clotrimazole 1% cream for over three weeks now and it's slowly helping but it still gets irritated.
s hospital where they treated him for pneumonia for 2 days then sent home to take Cefdinir for 12 days. Once the 12 days were over he once again started with the high fever and his cough never left. His doctor did x-rays once again and put him back on Cefdinir for 10 days. He ended up going back to Children's E.R. where they said he had decreased air movement in his lower left lobe and put him on Amox-Clav ES for 14 days. He is still running fever with a wet cough.
The Azithromycin did not clear the sinus infection so i was put on Cefdinir at 300 mg twice a day for one week. My hope was that if i had anything one of these two antibiotics would clear it up. Yesterday i went to doctor due to still having the burning after urination. I was given a pee test and then prescibed 10 days of Cipro 500 mg twice a day. I do not think they tested me for any stds but i was diagnosed with a UTI.
On Dec 20(32nd day after exposure) I took a STD screening test(blood, urine, urethral swab) for Gonorhea, Chlamydia(Antigen), Syphillis(RPR), Hep B(Surface Antigen), Hep C and HIV(1,2 with P24 Antigen). All the tests were negative, no bacteria was seen in the comp urine bacterial culture. However, blood, Leucocytes Esterase, Mucus threads were detected in the urine. The doctor said it is NGU and prescribed Cefdinir 600mg - 5 days, 1g of Azithromycin on the 6th day, 2g of Tinidazole on 7th day.
