Avatar f tn Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.

Avatar m tn Third, what are my odds of catching Syphillis give it is more prevelant in SE Asia and Thailand. My final question is that I visited a doctor in HK and he prescribed Cefdinir 300mgs, 2x a day for 2 weeks to treat possible STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) and he also indicated this could treat Syphilis. After spending some time online, I am confused and not certain that will treat the above issues.

Avatar n tn We took him back to his doctor and had x-rays taken. He then had pneumonia in his right lower lobe and was put on Cleocin for 10 days. Once he was off the Cleocin he started having fever again and still had his cough. Took him back to his doctor and had more x-rays. He had pneumonia again, but in his left lower lobe. He was put back on Cleocin. Ended up taking him to Children's hospital where they treated him for pneumonia for 2 days then sent home to take Cefdinir for 12 days.
Avatar f tn -- Biaxin (clartihromycin) and Omnicef (cefdinir) for Lyme. However, I have seen references in various places online to Flagyl being used against babesia. If you search "babesiosis flagyl" you'll find what I did. Take care!

Avatar f tn I’ve seen very little research on this specific drug and the treatment of it. I have no health insurance and live in a state that has significantly cut funding for women’s services. Therefore I’m trying to treat any possible infection on my own. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I was tested for strep and mono. Strep came back positive (Strep C) and negative for mono. I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared. My original symptoms were gone so I didn't bother taking the rest of the antibiotic. (I know, my fault).
Avatar m tn Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. Is Cipro as effective as other antibiotics for dental infection?
Avatar f tn All symptoms have been taken care of by the combined use of magnesium oil and Angstrom Magnesium. Magnesium oil is a topical solution that is rubbed on the skin. Angstrom Magnesium is a liquid taken by mouth. They both are absorbed down to the cellular level, therefore no laxative effect happens and all symtpoms disappear. When a stressful situation arises, my symtpoms appear.
12182312 tn?1427683956 The way to research Mag supplementation is by what the Mg is bound to at the molecular level. Mg is very very reactive so it doesn't exist in its pure form. It blows up when it gets near water. That would be bad. Mg is usually bound to oxygen. This is called Magnesium oxide. It's very cheap to make, and very very stable.
12618772 tn?1445214532 I'm usually extremely sick while pregnant I did some research and found that taking magnesium and b6 supplements will help me with this.So I started taking them and I haven't been sick at all only once before I started taking them. What do you ladies think about this and have u every tried or heard of this?
Avatar f tn Yes, in my experience magnesium does help with the negative effects of amphetamines. I take Adderall XR 30mg daily, and I take Magnesium Chelated Aspartate, or Citrate...at night. There are many threads on weather or not Magnesium can potentiate and, alleviate the effects of amphetamines. I've also read that it may also inhibit tolerance.
Avatar n tn Margypops sorry for the delayed response, if you take it at night you won't feel nauseated that seems to help.
Avatar f tn I have had high blood pressure for a good while and I was just about to start on medication when last week I had a colonoscopy which involved taking solutions to provoke diarrhoea which contain a high dose of Magnesium Oxide and since then my BP has dropped right down to about 130 over 80. I've been eating food rich in magnesium since then and it's still way down although my pulse is high for me as I have always had bradycardia and it's usually around 45 and now it's 70 to 80.
408448 tn?1286883821 I take 1000 mg magnesium a day, and my levels are still low. My onc said it may be like that forever. Try bumping up your dose. I take 250 at each meal and before bed (or whenever I remember!) I thought I could stop a few months after my first round of chemo, but got foot cramps at night and heart palpitations. Needless to say I've become much more faithful. Good luck!
2120085 tn?1344765910 I do take magnesium, but I take it mainly for my IBS issues....mine are 250mg...and is magnesium oxide and when gone will be replaced with the citrate as more of it will be absorbed..... Avatar f tn I am wondering on how worthwhile it would be to take magnesium (and any other) supplements to help combat my mild cardiomyopathy. If yes, how much and what kind? I have a 1 to 2 centimeter area of hypokinesis in left ventricle and very mild hypokinesis in right ventricle. LVEF - 45-50%. I have NSVT, inducable Sustained VT and V-Fib, as well as A-Fib. I do have an ICD. I take Coreg and Lisinopril. I am 34 years old. Thanks for your time and advice!
