Hi Jon, Thanks for your reply. I have not heard Benicar, so i'll google abt it later. I am recently put on candesartan but I have not taken it yet. I guess I m kinda scared of the side effects.

A high prolactin level is seen in hypothyroidism, liver disease, kidney disease, pituitary tumor etc.A high prolactin level can cause menstrual irregularities, infertility, discharge from breast and mood swings. It would have been really helpful if you had shared more information about your symptoms. A clinical correlation is important. Do consult your doctor and discuss these test results. I get that dry cough too. I don't take an ACE inhibitor though, I don't think. Just Lopressor, Dyazide/Maxzide, Lipitor and aspirin for the heart issues. For me it started a couple of years ago one summer after pushing myself too hard. I start coughing out of the blue to the point of either just about passing out or vomiting mucus. Urgg My chest hurts and feels sunken in, pounds very hard and quivers sort of and then I'm fine till it happens again.

It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.

I suffer allergic reactions to blood pressure medications. Over a long period I have tried a huge number of different BP meds, and not found one that eventually didn't make me feel unwell. The most recent, Candesartan, lowered my BP in the first few days, but after that it gradually rose again to a point where my BP was way above normal levels and I was suffering severe chest pains..

Personally, I take valsartan, but my friends have experienced similar success (or better) with candesartan, telmisartan, losartan (although this drug is surmountable and thus theoretically not the best one to take), irbesartan, and, for ACE inhibitors, perindopril.

Anyone ever have kidney infections or other kidney problems related to hep C? I have hep C....no treatment yet, but I have lots of sharp pain in my midright back about where the kidney shold be (I think). Maybe it is unrelated. So I had this problem with my last pregnancy,.and unfortunately it's here with this one too. The uterus kinks off my ureter to my kidney so it doesn't drain very well. I usually can lay on my side and it will slowly drain but tonight I can't get any relief, I'm in so much pain I don't know what to do.
