Avatar n tn I agree with DM that it's important to have her tested for diabetes if she hasn't been. Even diabetics feel good when our blood sugars are in the normal range, so the fact that she feels fine much of the time isn't very telling. If she is a known Type 1 diabetic, then it's great her blood sugar is normal most of the time. If a diabetic is nauseaus when her blood sugar is high, it often is a signal that toxins called ketones are building up.
Avatar f tn Usually Ur doc can give u a list of safe things to take.
Avatar n tn She was admitted for 5 days to monitor her and to decide on the appropriate insulin dosage. Doctor decided on 2 injections a day, morning injection mix of 2 units of Actrapid Short Acting and 5 units of Insulatard long-acting. Night time injection mix of 2 units of Actrapid Short Acting and 4 units of Insulatard long-acting and told us to monitor her and check blood sugar every 4 hours for 2 months. Also advised us on how to change the dosage when required.
Avatar n tn Between December 2002 and October 2005, 189 non-diabetic patients were treated with Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba, of whom five developed type 1 DM (2.6%), three type 2 DM (1.6%) and one an indeterminate type of DM. Classical symptoms of DM were present in three patients who developed DM shortly after cessation of Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba. In the other patients, symptoms of DM were either indistinguishable from side effects caused by Peg-IFN-alpha/Riba or absent.

198504 tn?1195158059 They all seem to have a diet version diet that use artificial sweeteners and that will bring your calorie count alot. However, I would still advise not using it with the phen. People say the phen gives them NRG. Perhaps if you find you need more after a week or so on the phen, I would suggest you just drink a little at first and see what happens before driking an entire can. Hope this helps.

Avatar n tn By May I gained 3lbs, and Phen-phen (30mg) was added to my regimen. By mid-June I gained another 2lbs, and my doctor took me off the Levothyroxine. I am seeing a nutritionist, still on the Phen-phen, and a daily Vitamin B shots. By July 23rd, gained 2.4 lbs; no longer on Levothyroxine, still seeing the nutritionists and I am back to being extremely fatigue, lightheaded, chronic itchness, and not focused(it seems as my brain and mouth are at a disconnect). My life has been turned outside down.
Avatar f tn I started the meds approximately a week ago. I was told the Phen would give me all of this energy and that the Metformin would keep me in the bathroom a lot until my body adjusted, but I have had neither really. The first couple of days on the Phen I had a boost of energy, which I loved, but it quickly faded. I am now constantly tired, no matter how much sleep I get. From what I've researched fatigue can be a side effect of both medicines.
Avatar n tn Yes, she needs to see a pediatric ophthalmologist. Sudden blinking can indicate anumber of eye problems. Find one near you at www.aao.
Avatar n tn 4) and TSH=0.783 (0.3-4.0), accordingly the pediatric endocrinologist of the hospital suggested reduction in terms of giving the dosage 5/7 days a week. Once more we desided to get another opinion. The new pediatric endocrinologist believed there is a high possibility of transient hypothyroidism (not that it matters) and suggested the continuation of dosage at 7/7 days with 25T4 tablets. The last blood test (same molecular lab) after a 2 week period showed the following values fT4= 1.99 (0.6-2.
Avatar n tn I know Clemmons recommends 2000 iu/day in dogs w/DM but my vet is wary of this dosage. What do you think? Will it hurt him or cause any other conditions? He weighs 70lbs. I was told by a vet nutritionist that it can affect his vit K absorption and cause a coagulation problem. Also, I am wondering what you think about the 2 drugs that Clemmons recommends from WestLab: EACA & NAC? Have they worked on any dogs?

Avatar f tn My doctor told me I can take robitussin DM for my cold. Is robitussin cough+Chest congestion DM the same thing?
Avatar n tn i too was on phentermine and kinda hit a wall - stopped working and couldn't sleep well.. i requested meridia (big $) to replace/in addition to the phen and it gave me terrible gastric pains. doc then had me try the phen in the morning and diethylpropion (tenuate) in evening (where i was having sleep issues). worked wonderfully. i had considered asking for phendimetrizine but i read it was a schedule 3 drug and i had read a bariatric magazine article that casually linked it to pph.
Avatar f tn I just drank warm tea and honey and got lots of sleep and kept my vitamin c level intake really good and I got better in 2 days
Avatar m tn Well, it looks like your bp is dropping as you relax. Are you allowing enough time for your bp to settle when you sit down? At cardiac rehab they would put the cuff on, wait 10 mins then press the button.
