Bystolic when to take

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic when to take

bystolic

214864 tn?1229715239 I have been taking 20 mg of Coreg CR (continuous release) and have gained a lot of weight in a short period of time. I am considering talking to my cardio and trying a switch to Bystolic. Both are the latest generation of beta blockers, and do more than the older beta blockers. Another thing that would help me is to know if Bystolic drains the energy from you like most beta blockers because of what they do.
343006 tn?1314446471 not one would help me ! they just say I dont know ? and want to hand more pills to take !! meaning to me .. more side effects and interactions ! its gotta stop ! thanks everyone !
Avatar f tn and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Bystolic also 10 mgs 1 a day. I had to stop taking it because my dizzy spells got worse, I had been on it two months.
Avatar f tn Is anyone taking Bystolic for high blood pressure? I had a stress test and my BP was off the charts - Cardiologist said he was watching my BP over my several visits (over a 9 month period). It's been elevated every time I see him - My regular doctor never commented that my BP was high - always within normal range - sorry to say it, I believe that the girls that take the bp in the office, have no clue on how to take it 'properly'. This is my opinion of course.
Avatar n tn I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
Avatar m tn My doctor gave me 5mg samples of Bystolic for Heart Palpitations. He wants me to take 1 a day before bedtime. He told me that it will slow my heart rate down. Normally I get 1-2 palps daily. Slightly concerned because it can lower your blood pressure to. My blood pressure is normally around 125/80. Doc says my heart is generally in good shape but I do have some "leakage". Mild case of mitral valve prolapse and slightly large aortic valve.
Avatar n tn I have a diagnosis of Afib secondary to a prior case of pericarditis. Treating Afib with Bystolic. Last Tuesday developed bradycardia; heart rate in the 40 to 50's. Constant chest pain, spent night in hospital for cardiac work up which was negative. Now we are going to do EGD to rule out stomach issues causing low pulse but I am thinking my cervical spine problems (which have worsened) may be the cause. I also have upper thoracic pain. Could this be the cause?
Avatar f tn I've been on Bystolic for 5 year's, I had a EKG that showed one Artery was partially blocked from " Stress" I get a tightness in my Pectoral muscle and the Bystolic stops it, I'm very Grateful for Bystolic, Hope you find something that helps you! Take Good Care!
Avatar m tn And everybody reacts differently to medicine. I do great with bystolic and bcat can't take it. So don't let one person's experience influence your decision. You may have to try several different ones until you find what works best for you.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar m tn My worry is my heart beat is too slow for Bystolic. One of their warnings is not to take it if you have a slow heart beat, is mine too slow? I have had spikes in blood pressure releated to stress a few years ago, but when the stress was gone so was the higher blood pressure. I always have had , on occation, a skipping heart beat. I dont know if that matters......Also would Bystolic hamper my workouts?
116881 tn?1189755823 In my case I had to opposite problem, I take BB to lower my HR, not my BP, but the BP went down too, and it made me prone to dizziness. This passed and now my BP is about normal. I suppose that could be your case with a too low HR, but I do not have any direct evidence..
Avatar f tn I desperately want to connect with liongirl29 -- I, TOO, HAVE EXPERIENCED PROFOUND MEMORY LOSS WHEN TAKING BYSTOLIC FOR ONLY 30-35 DAYS. I DO NOT SEE MY RESPONSE TO HER POST -- DOES IT TAKE A WHILE TO SHOW UP???
Avatar n tn Thanks to all you guys for posting these side effects cause my Dr thinks i'm crazy for telling him the same things. This stuff wipes me out so bad i can't function for days after 1 5mg pill. A half pill does the same thing so i took a fourth pill yesterday and it was better but still bad. I had a 5 graft bypass in 2004 and never had irregular heartbeat till after a stent last oct and it started in Nov. I am a thin person but my middrift gains weight.
Avatar f tn until they finally hit on a new medication by Bystolic! I hit the jackpot, it was like night and day! I take 20 mg in the morning with 125 mg of magnesium taurate then 5mg of Norvasc for HTN then take 10 mg of by Bystolic at night with 125 mg of magnesium taurate in between I take .5 Xanax in the morning and at night I have not had one PVC in the last three years I feel like a different human being!
Avatar m tn I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Avatar f tn m sure he has a good reason but you need to be able to put your worries to rest, and this is best done thru him. Take care.
Avatar n tn I too have been on 5mg of bystolic for about a year - within the first month of being on the drug I 'packed' on @10 lbs. I eat a very lo-calorie diet. My cardiologist basically said - put up with the weight or have a stroke (I am a thin-built woman - not overweight/obese by any means - at least at when I started the meds). The weight is centered in the belly region - an area where I never carried weight - oh boy not now!!!
Avatar m tn I have been having episodic PVC's for years, but lately they have become chronic and can interfere with falling asleep or will wake me. My cardiologist prescribed Bystolic 5 mg., but on their web site, they caution people with "irregular heartbeats" not to take it. I called the 800 number they listed, but they couldn't tell me why. It seems to me that if they caution me not to take it, that I shouldn't. Now what?
Avatar n tn The down side is fatigue and a real slow heart rate which was causing me more skipped beats The only reason I switched to BYSTOLIC was because it is supposed to be the latest and greatest (and my MD gave me lots of free samples) and the positive effect on heart rate. All beta blockers appear to have their own unique list of side effects.
Avatar n tn Hi, I had to stop taking Bystolic because of the symptoms you are having. I agree with NTB my blood pressure was dropping to low I fell a few times, mornings were the worse.
Avatar m tn Well I have switched to a new PCP so we will see what he says, and as for the post right after mine, i was diagnosed with asthma as a kid, but never ever had an asthma attack, and just recently they put me on inhalers because of shortness of breath, but the shortness of breath I think is from my anxiety, this doctor just met me and has not actually examined me just was like o you have shortness of breath here is some inhalers, and your blood pressure is high today so here are some blood pressure
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
