Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic tablets 5mg

bystolic

Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?
Avatar m tn I have recently (about 6 weeks) been prescribed the new Betablocker Bystolic at 5mg/day instead of Coreg 6.125mg. Initially it has slightly reduced my heart palpitations which are less forceful, stopped some irregular or PACs and cut out the dreaming side effect of Coreg. However recently I have noticed that the color of my blood (taken to test blood sugar) is a distinct chocolate-brown color similar to whenever I have had to use Nitro tabs/patches for angina attacks.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn My doctor gave me 5mg samples of Bystolic for Heart Palpitations. He wants me to take 1 a day before bedtime. He told me that it will slow my heart rate down. Normally I get 1-2 palps daily. Slightly concerned because it can lower your blood pressure to. My blood pressure is normally around 125/80. Doc says my heart is generally in good shape but I do have some "leakage". Mild case of mitral valve prolapse and slightly large aortic valve.
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
Avatar f tn I take 20 mg in the morning with 125 mg of magnesium taurate then 5mg of Norvasc for HTN then take 10 mg of by Bystolic at night with 125 mg of magnesium taurate in between I take .5 Xanax in the morning and at night I have not had one PVC in the last three years I feel like a different human being!
Avatar n tn I too have been on 5mg of bystolic for about a year - within the first month of being on the drug I 'packed' on @10 lbs. I eat a very lo-calorie diet. My cardiologist basically said - put up with the weight or have a stroke (I am a thin-built woman - not overweight/obese by any means - at least at when I started the meds). The weight is centered in the belly region - an area where I never carried weight - oh boy not now!!!
Avatar f tn I took my first dose of Bystolic 5mg last night - Never been on a beta blocker before. My HP's have fluctuated severely in the past year so my cardiologist thinks it's a good idea. I didn't sleep a wink last night!!! I took it around 8pm after dinner. I was up all night long. I'm hoping these side effects wear off, as I can't go around during the day with no sleep. Maybe taking the pill in the morning with breakfast will work better.
Avatar n tn I have been on 5mg bystolic for a couple of months. My knees also ache. The worst part is I am exhausted all the time. I have also put on 15 pounds in the couple of months I've been taking it. It is controlling my heart rate. I also take Micardis.
1933354 tn?1323362834 I am currently taking 2.5mg Bystolic, my cardiologist prescribed them to me to help control my heart rate. I was having lots of panic attacks and my pulse would get really high. I am on day 7 of the beta, I do feel a huge difference, a lot less anxiety, all my physical symptoms of anxiety are gone. However, I am noticing some effects of the beta blocker, such as heavy legs, really tired, tightness in chest.
Avatar f tn However when I first started taking my medication Bystolic 5mg my blood pressure start to go low around 116/69 so my doctor changed me to Lisinopril 2.5mg. Now I started to see that my blood pressure is 144/73 its been like that few a weeks but then it will go back to 123/83 every once in a while. I am concerned because I have read that high systolic blood pressure is usually found in older adults.

1217309 tn?1267050177 i went to the doctor today and he switched me Metroplol XR to Bystolic 5mg for my PVCs. I looked the medicine up as usual and it said on one of the websites not to take Bystolic if you have an irregular heartbeat(I know I shouldn't have been searching the internet) Does anyone have any exerience with this? Also he gave me Lexapro to help with that anxiety over these anyone had sucess with this, I heard it can be quite nasty. Thanks!
1515688 tn?1328151024 Has anyone here tried Femara? I have 5 tablets that a friend of mine had leftover (unexpired & still in the pack), and I'm thinking about trying it on cd3-7 next cycle. I'm 5 dpo right now, but I don't think there's much of a chance since we could only BD 3 days prior to ovulation. Although I have read conflicting stories on the Internet that that is "prime" time to BD. :-) Thanks all!
Avatar f tn Similar to the reactions a person with high blood pressure, would have to say a decongestant. That question was never answered. However, he handed me bystolic 5mg samples, and said to take them for the PAT. If anyone could answer my question about the medication reactions I would appreciate it. I also would like to know if it's wise for me to be taking the bystolic. I do not have, nor have I ever had blood pressure problems.
Avatar n tn This is when all the trouble started with lightheadedness, chest pain, shortness of breath and I became more sick than I was before taking these medications. When I complained, he changed to Bystolic 5mg. This made it worse by lowing down the heart beat to 43. These beta blockers caused me so much problem that I requested him to give other medications like HCTZ. Now I am on HCTZ 25 mg.
Avatar f tn I need some serious help here as I am having significant problems and the doctors don't seem to know what is wrong with me. I started taking Bystolic 5mg in early September of this year due to palpitations and an abnormally high resting heart rate. They can't find any cause with testing.
Avatar f tn If I increased to just 5mg my heart rate became too slow, around 28bpm. At 1.25mg I could get my heart rate quite high, but it got there nice and gently. No sudden adrenaline surges caused it to suddenly jump high. It was strange to not feel those familiar butterflies when under stress. Bisoprolol didn't affect my blood pressure, I had to take an Ace Inhibitor separately for that.
1157054 tn?1266094164 CoQ10 is a naturally found in our bodies. We have an abundance of it when we are young. As we age, our bodies become depleted. I myself take this at 30 mgs daily, sometimes 90mgs. I have never heard of any negative affects of taking this with any med. Remember...you can always do searches on drugs and their interactions with herbs and vitamins.....most of the vitamin warnings will only be interference in absorption, so usually recommend taking vitamins a couple of hours away from meds.
Avatar f tn I had horrible palpitations and periods of feeling like i wanted to faint. I had a CT with contrast, stress echo and holter monitor. I am on Bystolic 5mg for now. I still feel the palpitations from time to time but not nearly as bad as before. I don't know what types of arrythmias there are. As we all know doctors are pressed for time at every visit so questions are answered very briefly. I wish they could type you a report that you can read and then you can ask questions.
Avatar f tn Hi All, I'm a 36 year old female. This is my first post because I just found this community. What a God sent. First, I have no one to talk to about my symptoms and people, doctors and family tend to brush me off. So, thank you all for postings. I finally feel like I belong somewhere. Smiles... My SVT, POTS started around 2005 to 2007 with minor symptoms and a few hospital visits but my heart would always go back to normal. I was just told you're having a panic attack.
351404 tn?1299489130 as far a arrythma meds.. I take one 5mg Bystolic daily for blood pressure. hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I used to take lisinipril...low dose of 5mg mainly to help my kidneys as I am diabetic. Over one year went up to lisinipril 40 mg and it stopped working. I was put on propranolol and then metoprolol with the following awful side effects: dry mouth, shortness of breath. They did lower my pressure though. Along with these, I took HCTZ 12.5 mg which also have me those same sided effects.
