I would really like some help with this. Byetta has been wonderful so far, and I've lost 30 lbs, yay! But now I've developed insomnia - terrible, only 3 hours of sleep a night insomnia, which has never bothered me before. If I skip my second Byetta shot for the day, I can usually get a full night's sleep. So that's certainly a clue that I may not be able to take the full two doses of Byetta a day.

obviously you are having a problem tolerating byetta, and given that this is now 3 months and you have lost so much weight, I would think it may be rational to ask your doctor if you can stop this medication and try something different?
Why did your dr. not decide to start you on Metformin?
Have you been monitoring your blood sugars (while on byetta)? What is your fasting and post-eating blood sugars. What was your Hba1c when you started this med?
I used Byetta for a long time and I am not an expert or medical person. You are best to get the information from your doctor. Before I started using Byetta, I had to take classes from a nurse on how I had to inject Byetta into my stomach. It was prescribed by my Doctor. Byetta has side effects reported by some people but I had no problems with it other than the expense. It does give you a feeling of fullness and it has a nickname (Spit).

I'm 34 years old and am about to begin my first cycle with the ovulation drug clomid. I'm a type 2 diabetic, have PCOS, and I have PSVT. I take Byetta, metformin, and metoprolol. I have been working with my Dr. for about 18 months to loose weight (I've lost over 60 lbs), get my blood sugar under control (my last 2 AICs were normal), and get medically ready to have a child. Last week he told us he feels comfortable with my heath for my husband and I to try to get pregnant.

Symptoms of pancreatic cancer are found at this link. https://www.webmd.com/cancer/pancreatic-cancer/pancreatic-cancer-symptoms#1 When they speak of light stools they are speaking in terms of jaundice which usually has other symptoms such as yellow skin or eyes. Do you have that as well? If not, I'd not necessarily associate light stools with pancreatic cancer. GERD is likely to cause yellow stools.
What is the best exam to rule out Pancreatic Cancer?
I´ve been expericieng some problems in the last month: my stools are different, vague low abdominal pain and vague back pains. I am very anxious. After read about Cancer Pancreatic I can´t put my mind at rest and started feeling minor itches.
My doctor asked a ultrasound and some blood tests. After the results he said it is fine for Pancreas. But I have other problems: 2 stones in my gallblader and minor hepatic steatosis.
I have a friend that is sick with pancreatic cancer I don't know what kind he has. I don't know if it's exocrine or endocrine but what I would like to know is what is the survival rate for individuals with this type of cancer. However age, race, gender all of that play a part.
I am very sad. Just got a call from my dad saying he has pancreatic and liver cancer. From what I recall its an aggressive cancer right? He hasn't been dx with hep c. I don't have very much info at the moment. Waiting for them to call me after appointment.
Doctor feels CT Scan is enough to rule out Pancreatic cancer as blood and urine is normal, That having pain something would have shown on CT Scan with pancreatic CA.
The exact cause of pancreatic cancer is unknown but it is more common in people with diabetes, people with long-term inflammation of the pancreas or smokers. Early symptoms of pancreatic cancer include dark urine and clay-colored stools, fatigue and weakness, jaundice or yellow color in the skin, mucous membranes, or eyes; loss of appetite, upper abdominal pain, weight loss and even nausea and vomiting.
H Pylori thrives in low stomach acid and lowers stomach acid further. Low levels of stomach acid (stomach acid stimulates the pancreas to release enzymes to help with digestion just to add) can also cause malabsorption and floating stools. There are many possible symptoms from not enough stomach acid. My mother takes betaine HCL with pepsin supplements to increase stomach acid and digestive enzyme supplements to help with digestion. I see that this is under juvenile diabetes, which I know even less about. But, Byetta is remarkable for a lot of folks, and there are two newer, similar, products available also.
I am in my late 50's. I was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis in 2004, and when my anemia did not clear up after 6 months of prednisone and other meds, another colonoscopy was performed and the colitis was completely cleared up, revealing a tumor in the hepatic flexure of the colon. This turned out to be stage 3C colon cancer.
I had to change to Byetta in about 2 weeks (finished Victoza sample and insurance would only pay for Byetta). I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.
Hi I went to the doctor 3 days ago because my testicle hurt he examined it and said it was normal and didn't feel any cancer. But I was worried that it had spread and read about pancreatic cancer and I am freaking out scared. I know you don't survive if you get it and its really hard to detect it untill its too late. I am 30 my last blood test f was 6 too 7 months ago for a cbc and urine test and the other blood test that checks Cholesterol and Triglycerides my sugar levels I think.
Also had a spot come up on my ankle that looked like blood pooled under skin after umerious trips to the ER thinking I had blood clots they said maybe superficial blood clot. I read that that can go along with pancreatic cancer. had abdominal ultrasound a year ago that was fine. blood work has been fine. any ideas?
While it is uncommon to have concomitant cancer, there is a research from the University of Chicago Medicine that shows a strong link between pancreatic cancer and the BRCA2 mutation that plays a role in breast cancer. Any structural abnormalities of the gall bladder like stones or polyps need surgical correction. The stones can chronically irritate the gall bladder wall and cause inflammation and pain. Also, this chronic irritation is a predisposing cause for gall bladder cancer. If the stone is placed in the neck of the gall bladder, it can cause retention of bile, with stasis and consequent infection. So, the best option would be to have an elective gall bladder removal.
Read about pancreatic cancer and I am freaking out scared. My best friend dad died from this 2 years ago.I know you don't survive if you get it and its really hard to detect it untill its too late.
