572651 tn?1530999357 I’m sure my strong inclination to adhere to rules has resulted in a flattened wallet many times over the years. For me, that still trumps the price of the alternative - be it in dollars, guilt or legal defense. I am glad we have a chance to share about things like this hypothetically here on the forum.
Avatar f tn You can get income support from 26weeks of pregnancy until delivery and then get the bonus lump sum to help with the cost of buying baby things. Am not sure about the maternity pay but getting professional advice is your best shot.
Avatar f tn She told me that the oral pill would metabolize through the liver much faster on Modafinil and so she put me on the Nuvaring. (I thought that would be metabolized the same way- but I’m no doctor)! I just went to get a new Nuvaring at my pharmacy and the pharmacist told me the same thing, that Modafinil will affect my birth control. If there is an option where I am protected?
Avatar n tn any advice or experiences that could help me understand would be really helpful please. My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. Now that the year is finished and he's not taking it however, he has become aggressive, irrational and rude. Does anyone know if this is because of the modafinil or if there's a link.
7126533 tn?1388405470 Thanks for the tips - Because the incontinence problem has been becoming increasingly worse, I have been in touch with the MS nurse who has arranged for bladder function tests to be carried out in a couple of weeks so I'll find out then how well I'm emptying. As I have limited feeling in the bladder bowel areas I know that I am often unaware of the need to go (trying to be polite here) which can lead to incontinence. My probs actually began to deteriorate when I took up running.
Avatar f tn Can you please tell me if taking 300mg Adrafinil (pre-cursor to Modafinil) once or twice a week, to help me study. will decrease the effectivenes of birth control pills? I'm taking Levlen 1.5/30mg I know that a long term Modafinil use makes birth control pills less effective but how about short term? PLEASE ADVISE, Thank you!
Avatar m tn @Dr Rajput: Thanks for sharing that, it was helpful! :) Do you think the problem I have described sounds like delayed sleep phase syndrome? @Janit: Hi, thanks for the reply. I have always been wrongly diagonized as having insomnia. I realized this around 2 years back when I suffered from a 'true' form of insomnia which lasted a month or so. The cause of this insomnia was the anxiety I was suffering from.
Avatar f tn t afford childcare n in 16 weeks preg anyway so we only get little help!
Avatar m tn There are no factors, including duration of therapy, that are known to predict the risk of occurrence or the severity of rash associated with modafinil or NUVIGIL. In cases where the time to onset was reported, serious rash occurred 1 day to 2 months after initiation of treatment, but isolated cases of serious dermatologic reactions have been reported with symptoms beginning after prolonged treatment (e.g., 3 months).
5509293 tn?1428531475 Nuvigil, alerted, modafinil, Provigil are the same -as far as I understand. I am paying more than you - I have high deductible insurance but took the hit because I needed a replacement for amantadine to help with fatigue. Thought I was ok until the amantadine worked its way out of my system and then I crashed. But new drug is giving me BP problems. Is anyone taking the drug with NO BP problems? How much can you take?
916412 tn?1361201386 Here's a thought hun. Why not get a side by side then make the covers for them. You could do that or have someone do that for you.... It's a thought.

Avatar f tn Most of us are in the U.S. and would not be able to answer your question, as we don't know the rules surrounding your NHS. You should check with your local authorities. Or you could check with another clinic to see. We do find that the NHS does not, often, allow for adequate thyroid testing/treatment, and many of our members do have to go private in order to get adequate care. Do you know the exact TSH level? Some doctors refuse to begin treatment until TSH is quite high.
468452 tn?1225964888 My question is, is this drug only prescibed in the US? I myself had never heard of it here in the UK. Does anybody know if it perhaps has another name here in the UK or do we just not use the drug? I currently take Diazapam or Ativan for extreme attacks but it would be nice to have something to take on a regular basis that does the same thing but without the same addictive qualities and to perhaps stop me from getting myself into a state in the first place? Does anyone know about this???
4020799 tn?1355825570 I'm having one. I'm in Australia. We aren't telling anyone the sex of the baby until the shower so my partners mum has done the pink and blue theme. We have games, a bbq lunch and desert. They have a pool, and stuff so being summer here should be good. But I'm not doing the girlie shower it's a moved family one.
1421489 tn?1285525635 Thanks for your comments - it seems that with NICE and reduction in benefits, MS-ers are having a bad time of it in the UK at the moment (disclaimer: only in comparison with the prior UK situation, not in comparison to the US...) Is anyone out there in the UK and on DMDs? If so, did the neuro prescribe them as a matter of course, or did it take a while?
5160872 tn?1385248794 I took 120mg once A day for 2 weeks, then 120mg twice a day for 4 weeks, then I took 240mg at night and 120mg in the morning for 4 weeks, then I took 240mg at night and also 240mg in the morning every other day for a week, and now I am on week 4 of the full dose (240mg in morning and 240mg at night). Thankfully it has gone sooo much better than my initial try with it. It seems to be a great med. I wish you luck and please message me if I can help in any way!
1203197 tn?1265555829 Hi, I'm not a Doctor, just a poster, but from what you've described, the combo does not seem to be working for you. First about your apnea: My friend has a form or sleep apnea also, and she has to use this special breathing aparatus at night, so that her apnea does not cause her nightly breathing problems. Can't remember what that apparatus is called, but people w/ sleep apnea often use it.
