symbicort

Avatar n tn Luckily, my pharmacist caught my allergy to methylprednisolone and told me it was the steroid used in budesonide. I wish you good health and I hoped this information helped.
Avatar f tn I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.
Avatar f tn Budesonide - this was a new drug in England when I was prescribed it. My then gastro thought it would keep my Crohn's in remission. I was not in a flare when it was prescribed, but got one 2-3 weeks afterwards. Q1: yes, I take it weekly. 12.5 mg self injected. Used to be 25 mg oral tablets, but new gastro switched me to injections as he said he wasn't sure how much of the drug I was absorbing.
Avatar f tn I've recently been diagnosed with asthma and was prescribed ventolin and budesonide inhalers. After a few days of suffering side effects and getting much worse I went back to the doctor and he confirmed that I am allergic to budesonide, which he said is quite unusual. He prescribed me atrovent but from what I understand it is usually a substitute for ventolin not steroids.
Avatar n tn Over that period I have tried different combinations of Prednisolone, Budesonide, Salazopyrin, Singulair and Colpermin, all with limited success. Presently, I am taking Budesonide (9mg daily) and Salazopyrin (150mg daily). Whilst this allows me to function normally (i.e. normal bowel movements) I have discomfort, bloating and cramping all day, every day. Has anybody ever come through this disease to lead a normal life, or has anyone treated a patient that has done so?
Avatar f tn Little is known about the long-term efficacy of inhaled corticosteroids in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). We investigated the efficacy of inhaled budesonide on decline in lung function and respiratory symptoms in a 3-year placebo-controlled study of patients with COPD...... Inhaled budesonide was of no clinical benefit in COPD patients recruited from the general population by screening.

That was in 04. His pnuemonia cleared up just in time for him to relapse in Feb of 05 almost 1 year to the day that he was diagnosed. Avatar m tn Hi granma, Your cat may also need some medication for her IBS. My cat takes Budesonide in liquid form everyday. She has the other problem of constipation, but I give her miralax. Ask your vet if the Budesonide would be indicated for this condition...I think she sounds like it is pancreatitis or Irritable Bowel. Fairly common in cats. My cat is also on Hills Z/D food only. I know some do not favor this food but it works for my cat along with the Busesonide....so I am a believer.
Avatar n tn What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Avatar m tn I take an oral steroid - 8.5 mg per day - supplemented by ceretide(similar to advair) 500 - 2 puffs in the morn and 1 at night - and budesonide 160 micrograms - 2 puffs once a day. The thing with oral steroids is that the get absorbed in the body and have been adversely affecting me. I need to get off it, but every time I try to reduce the dosage my asthma tends to get worse. Can anyone offer me any advice regarding this matter?
Avatar n tn Use a panty liner positioned farther back and also you can stuff a cotton ball in the crack to catch fluid. Remove them rather than flushing them. Neem soap may help the skin recover from this. Use antifungal cream if the skin gets thick and dark from staying moist, but apply it to freshly cleansed and dry skin. Pat to dry rather than rough wiping of the irritated skin. Try Sitz baths. Avoid sitting for long if possible.
Avatar n tn Does Symbicort 80/4.5 (budesonide 80 mcg and formoterol fumarate dihydrate 4.5 mcg) Inhalation Aerosol effect the eyes? Does it raise the interocular pressure if used with known glaucoma? Avatar m tn Hello, Possibility of any drug causing hives or an allergic reaction can be there in an individual even if he was previously using it.Tramadol can cause itching, sweating, dry mouth, diarrhea, rash and host of other side effects. The other possibility is of exercise induced urticaria or hives. I feel that you should not take tramadol for some days and see if the rash disappears. You can shift to some alternate analgesic to which you are not allergic in the meanwhile.
Avatar m tn ve had only one head ache in six months due to not taking the Budesonide for a few days. i can breath and smell and am doing so great now. I hope my experience can help you.
Avatar m tn Hi, I have a daughter with EE, she was diagnosed 3 years ago, she is 9 now and she been on Singluar for the last 3 years which has helped a lot and there are no side effects (especially no agression). We are just starting to have problems again now and we are off to the Gastro again in a couple of weeks, but the Singluar was a great drug for her.
Avatar f tn My 3 year old daughter gets bad colds with coughing and slight weezing atleast 3 or 4 times out of the year. Her doctor has always perscribed albuterol and budesonide through a nebulizer. This time around when I took her he added Singulair and Prednisolone. He hasn't actually diagnosed her with asthma but her father and uncle both have it. Could she be getting it also and what kind of test should she get to see if she has asthma. Any suggestions would really help.
Avatar f tn While in India a pulmonologist at a good hospital diagnosed me with allergies and asthma (spiro something test before and after a med). I suddenly had developed wheezing and coughing after exposure to some toxic paint plus for a couple of years when I climb stairs I am short of breath. He said to take meds for a month at one dose and for another month at a half dose and to thereafter see another pulmonologist.
Avatar n tn Could the illness in conjunction with the bad air done damage to my bronchi, and if so, is it recoverable? 2.Could all this treatment have put my lungs and bronchi in a state of persistent irritation? 3.Could this be COPD?
Avatar m tn GVHD was ruled out as the rash or fever did not persist...it was more of a febrile rash...my only point is even if there is a minor chance of infection...do i need to test further or the tests that i have done by far are enough? I understand that i may be wasting your time...
