Money is so tight and now our car is broken down. It's like one thing after another. It is so stressful. I already feel like a failure of a parent.
Last night we opened our backdoor to find a stray kitty (adolescent male). I noticed he was malnourished and gave him some milk and chicken (all I had for an animal). Then I noticed he was favoring one leg. I think it might be broken! I've called a few places and no one wants to deal with him, of course. They're just going to want to euthanize him instead of help him.
So my question is this--- what do I do?!?!?!?!
Please get him in sooner than a few days. You don't want that leg to start healing, if it's broken and hasn't been set. That could run into more money, if he needs to go into surgery and they need to rebreak it.
Call your vet and ask if you can post date a check.
I wanted him seen ASAP because of the broken rear leg. The x-rays showed that the injury was about a month old and that it was already healed. It wasn't just a little break but the femur was actually snapped off. In order to fix it, they'd have to do a surgery that costs over $1500. Or... amputation (around $450- including pain meds).
My question is--- do we HAVE to do anything? When we found him he wouldn't walk on the leg and I thought it was a new injury.

I would also try to straighten it out throughout the day by putting it in my left pant leg between my pants and my leg. Anyway... it still works fine now it just has a slight curvature to the left. I've had my left ankle broken on sept 29, it was a fibula frature with a tibia dislocation, was on splint for a week, had surgery on oct 7th,plate + screws + a very long screw to place my tibia on the right place, splint for another week, then my orthopedist put me on aircast Air Stirrup Universe since then. He told me to start physical therapy a week after surgery, but I waited until 2 weeks. Now my foot hurts on an area that has nothing to do with the fracture.
I can walk without crutches I do have a bit of a limp at the minute. Walking up stairs is a little more difficult I have to step good leg first. My fib is still broken and I hear it click when I walk. I was told this is normal and it will heal on its own and not to worry about it. I stopped using crutches after 3 weeks (only used them for really long walks) what I did to help walking is stand with my crutches but not using them, Then shift my weight over to the bad foot.
t need surgery and my bone was repositioned and i was put in a cast. I had my sixteenth birthday with a cast on my right leg and i have had to cancel my driving test as i can't drive with a cast on. I will be with a full walking cast for another 2 weeks (its been 5) and then i will have a short walking cast for another 3 weeks. How long after that can i drive again and also how long until i play soccer. I will be going to physical therapy.
There will be pain and inflammation and you would need to take intermittent pain killers. Avoid putting full pressure on the injured leg and also limit physical activity to the minimum.
After couple of weeks your pain will decrease and also go for a follow up visit and an X-ray to know if your tibia fracture is healing properly and based on the results you can proceed.
Complete recovery with no pain and proper gait will take at least 6 months from now if your bone heals.
