On the surface, I think it is smart to expect certain things out of the father of our children.
I ALWAYS think something is wrong with me!! Every ache, every minor pain = ILLNESS. I can't seem to break the cycle of thinking that way. I've had this for years but it seems to be getting worse. Too nervous to take medication because of the possible side-effects. Trying some cognitive therapy but no real improvement from that. It's pretty much all day, every day with moments of feeling ok and not be overly anxious about it.
Up the duff by Kaz Cooke is a great lighthearted read, doesnt scare you with the 'what ifs' like many other books do. And you get a bit of a giggle out of it. Its one to go through week by week.
Look up some pregnancy books by Ina May Gaskins....she's an amazing natural-and-hospital birth advocate. she leans way more towards natural birthing, but she doesn't pooh-pooh the hospital births like many midwife-authors do.
As for baby books...I'd avoid the baby books to be perfectly honest!
