Avatar n tn Regarding the use of Gabapentin, you are regularly using since last September and had you suffered similar pains any time in the course of taking the drug? Although it has side effects as any other medicine, joint pain is not among the common or usual ones. You need to consult your attending doctor who had prescribed Gabapentin and update him of the possibility of the joint pains due to taking the drug. Are you been regularly followed up for your thigh pain? How is the pain presently?
Avatar f tn extremely swollen right leg especially around knee joint - could not even bend knee, terrible hip pain and two days later a tooth abscess. What are the chances I can tolerate Boniva once a month? My Endocrinologist wants me to try it.
Avatar f tn Hi and I can so relate to your doubts on the mentioned medicines, I have given up on taking any of them and least of all any bisphosphonates the side effects are simply terrible specially Boniva, there is a site about these meds and all the posters are those women who have taken them, you can look it up under "Boniva side effects" or http://www.askapatient.com/viewrating.asp?drug=21455&name=BONIVA, this is a forum where patients detail the side effects they had.
Avatar f tn I do not know if the papilloma specifically is related, but Boniva and drugs like it can cause swelling around the eyes as you describe. Just read any website discussing adverse effects of Boniva. I think it worth discussing with your doctor. You should be very aware and cautious of any facial swelling while on Boniva.
Avatar m tn 4M now 0. Was feeling great except last 3 days chills, severe joint pain , headache cold hands and feet. I would like to hear if others may have similar syndrome .
Avatar f tn other new symptoms are joint pain/stiffness and no, previous symptoms not resolved....continued lethargy + and 0 weight loss..... 534810 tn?1213327718 I, too, have joint pain and swelling in hands (and sometimes feet) w/femara. I have developed a trigger finger and dequervains tendonitis in bilateral wrist w/thumb pain. Had to go off med for a month and also have sites injected w/cortisone. Never had any of this before. Oncologist said she had seen trigger finger before no dequervains tendonitis? Wondering if anyone out there has had any of these side effects? And what do you think of this? I am miserable w/all this discomfort.
Avatar n tn I have taken Accutane and experienced joint and muscle pain. However, this and other side effects wore off as my body got used to the medication. I had no side effects, except for dry lips, from 12 weeks onwards and took Accutane for 24 weeks. Side effects are generally dose related. Taking Accutane at the recommended dose for 16 to 24 weeks is your son's best hope of a long term remission from acne. The recommended dose is between 0.5 and 1mg x kg bodyweight per day.
Avatar f tn ve stopped taking methimazole 12 days ago because of the strong side effects (hives, joint/muscle pain, dry throat). Though these effects are lessening, I wonder how long it might take for them to be completely gone.
Avatar f tn re having to go through this. If your shot was Neulasta that is indeed one of the side effects, joint pain. I had it all over my body and it was sometimes crippling but I still went to work. I walked like I was 30 years older than I am because my hips, legs, feet, hands and spine ached like crazy. Even my fingers! The only thing I can say is when you get your chemo, drink lots of water and flush it out of your system as quick as you can.
1026267 tn?1257591273 Care should be taken when taking medications for osteoporosis, as there can be adverse side effects and some dental work should not be performed while on it. I have had osteopenia for many years, and my latest bone scan shows that I've actually rebuilt bone, by implementing a regimen of calcium (1200 mg/day, taken twice daily - I take it at noon and 6:00 pm to prevent conflict with my thyroid med), magnesium (200 mg/day, taken at bedtime, moderate exercise.
Avatar m tn anxiety does not normally cause joint pain unless your anxiety causes you to hold your joint rigidly for a period of time. any ticks in your area when you are outside? some tick bites can cause joint pain and fatigue.
Avatar n tn hi...I have the same disease as your mom, I have had cortisone shot for hips and another in sept. the first one did help immensley however the effects were short term. It was also recommended I have a 'nerve block' for the spine however I haven't proceeded to this as of yet(leave for last resort) You can get tons of info at this site www.spine-health.
Avatar f tn The doctor injected me in my right knee joint and I thought I would die from the pain. The left knee joint was not as painful. After I felf pain relief. However, when I awoke yesterday both my knees where the injection was given , as I bent my knee, felt crackly. The right knee now "catches" as I walk-almost like something got dislodged. What is going on? I will see my doctor Monday cause he was not in. I am afraid to get the other injections now.
Avatar f tn THOUGHT I WAS GOING CRAZY BEFORE I FOUND YOU GUY. SIDE EFFECTS MUCH MORE THAN WE HAD BEEN LED TO BELIEVE.PERSONALLY HAVE THE BLURRY VISION, ENHANCED JOINT PAIN, SWEATS, AND SLEEP NOT GOOD. 634590 tn?1293774093 Isotretinoin has many bad side effects, but muscle weakness is not one. It has so many side effects, I would be reluctant to take this medication. You can read the entire list of negative side-effects online -- just search for isotretinoin. However, since you're finished with your fifteen day course without incident, your risk in using this medication is greatly minimized. If you had a serious infection, this would of course weaken you. With constant pain, energy is always affected.
Avatar f tn My doctor wants me to start taking Plaquenil. I have chronic inflamation of my stomach and esphogus. The doc stated that Plaquenil is easier on the stomach so I shouldn't take the hydroxycholotquine. Can someone tell me if either med causes heartburn? Also, I would appreciate if you can tell me what side effects you have from it and how long you've been on it. I heard that it effects the eyes and makes your hair fall out.,etc.. I have to be honest..
Avatar f tn Bisphosphonates like Boniva have been associated rarely with uveitis. You would experience ocular pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, loss of vision and possibly glaucoma if you had uveitis. Your ophthalmologist would be able to tell you right away if you had any uveitis and the Boniva could be discontinued if that were the case.
Avatar n tn I was on tamoxifen for 5 years and have been on femara for 3. The back pain and joint pain has gotten horrible. I can no longer stand up straight or walk very far. I am 64 and afraid I will no longer be able to walk soon. I stopped femara 4 days ago. I wonder if any else has had this problem with the very severe joint pain, and if it will go away any time soon. The pain and quality of my life is so bad that I am taking the chance.
Avatar n tn it works better than any narcotic and I have not had to take any pain pill for inflammation, arthritis, or joint pain but these last few shots seem to have triggered an emotional rollercoaster that is unbearable! I am a caregiver and can't control crying spells and feelings of inadequacy. i just want to crawl out of my skin!
443006 tn?1229201842 I never did find out a clearcut answer, but, almost 2 months later, I feel much better. No muscle pain, joint pain, getting better, no nausea or headaches. For most people this all gradually resolves at varying rates. Do mention it to your doc though.
Avatar f tn Long term use of ibuprofen (motrin) in your age group definitely has its side effects. It has effects on the kidney (nephrotoxic drug) and stomach (gastritis). Caution is advised with its use especially at your age. Also, remember to eat something whenever you take the drug. As you seem to be severely affected, it would be wise to discuss with your surgeon regarding this. We have other safe drugs which can control the pain.
Avatar f tn Joint pain can be a symptom of both hypo and hyper (overmedication). Do you have any other symptoms? Please post recent thyroid lab work results with reference ranges. Ranges vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.
15915009 tn?1488868338 Fatigue is one of the most frequent hypo symptoms. Also, joint pain is sometimes related to being hypothyroid. You really can't be sure of the adequacy of your thyroid test results without comparing them to the reference ranges from the same lab. Would it be possible for you to get the results from current tests, along with reference ranges shown on the lab report, and post them so that in advance of your Endo appointment we can help assess what is going on.
1752451 tn?1313407962 How long does the side effects to hep c treatment last,do they get better , worse as time progresses ei; joint pain, fatigue light headedness, lack of motavation
Avatar n tn I am so worried about him being on this medication. There are so many reported side effects with this, I wonder what the percentage of people experience these side effects. Why would his back be hurting. What exactly is the Claravis doing to his back? This discussion is related to Accutane- side effect - joint ache.
Avatar f tn In Britain doctors are required to tell patients possible side effects and I have a printed sheet with a large number of frightening side effects. Most of the serious side effects are rare, remember crossing the road is potentially fatal. The most impotant to remember is possible intestinal trouble, if you notice blood in you faeces or vomit blood you should stop taking naproxin at once and tell a doctor. Also take plenty of fibre in your diet as Naproxin can cause constipation or diarrhoea.
